I flew Icelandair in March and absolutely loved it! I think an accurate description of Saga class is premium economy with lounge access, but with far better flight attendant service than I've ever had in PE on any other carrier or in US domestic first class. On a flight from Glasgow to Keflavik, I was the only passenger in the Saga cabin! I told the flight attendant to not worry about me and help the FAs in economy. She spent a lot of time back there, but each time any FA come up front they doted on me. Of course I would prefer a bed, and if I find proper business class seats at the same price or cheaper I'll have to choose that option, but when I see PE at a similar price I'll choose Icelandair any day!
Thanks for watching! I would.maybe say, it's Business Class with Premium Economy Class seats, because everything else is really Business Class as you usually don't get a Priorty Check-in, Priority Boarding, Fast Track, Lounge access, 64kg checked baggage and that quality food in Premium Economy.
I flew Icelandair back in September of 2019 from IAD (Dulles) through keflavik and on to CPH ( Kastrup/Copenhagen) and return as well. I enjoy the experience you get in flight and even before and after. They (at the time) offer passengers a chance to fly on one of their special livery aircraft by submitting a request and story before the flight. No guarantees, but still That was really cool. I did get to fly special liveries KEF-CPH and KEF-IAD. The average seats are pretty tight and crowded, however, I was able to pre-select (for an upgrade fee that was priced right) an exit row seat for 3/4 of my flights! I had so much legroom! More than I expected! It was wonderful! So, thats a neat tip if you are comfortable seated in these rows! The service was so nice, everyone on board was fantastic. I will definitely fly Icelandair again on my trips to Europe! (Once we are able to again, that is)
@@flightexperience_official You are welcome. I was referring to the shots inside the terminal at KEF, and wondering whether it was the poor lighting at the terminal.

Tolles Video, finde Island einfach faszinierend.
Great flight report! The B757 is my favourite aircraft, although they are getting old now and I believe there will be very few after the current situation. Never flown with Icelandair, but will definitely in the future.✈️
Great tripreport as always! Nice to see Keflavik - I went there in NOV 2018 so bought back memories! Icelandair looks great! I might be flying them next year fingers crossed!
Sadly there aren’t enough jetbridges at Keflavik so we’re just gonna have to suck it up and handle the weather for few minutes. Consider yourself also lucky to be flying to Europe because you’re more likely to enter through a jet bridge on your way to Europe than America because the EU/Schengen terminal has access to all the jetbridges (A and C gates) but the non-EU/Schengen terminal has access to only limited amount of jetbridges (D gates) which results in majority of flights have to be boarded via bus to the US, Canada, UK, Russia, etc.
That aircraft has been round the block a few times then by its age !! You would think that in a place like Iceland they would have boarding bridges rather than bussing you to the plane where you get wet and freeze your balls off !! That engine "growl" is magnificent !! No reindeer on the menu ?? Thanks for another excellent review and it looked like a pretty good flight overall !! Well done again !!
I definitely would love to visit Iceland, maybe next year. The Saga Class looks very nice. And yes, the strongest turbulence I felt was when I flew HK Express from Guam to HKG in June 2017. We flew in right before a typhoon struck near HK. They closed the airport very soon after we landed.
I always like Iceland Air, such a great option to Europe. I live in Montana in the northern Rockies of the US. I can catch a flight from BZN to MSP and then catch a beautiful flight to Iceland break the trip overnight or longer and soak in the hot springs and then catch an onward flight to Europe the next day... I got upgraded to Saga class twice and it was such a treat....I feel like the 757 is a greyhound it is such a sleek aircraft, i'm sorry to see it near the end of its life cycle
My fear with turbulence is not the turbulence it self, its spilling everything on me or on my companion. I often chug my drink if I start it to feel bumpy xD. Great report, as always. Thanks!
Nice video as always. I travelled with my family in May 2019 from AMS-KEF-EWR-KEF-AMS with the leg AMS-KEF in a B767 and the leg KEF-EWR in a B757. I as an av geek enjoyed these flights. Also no jetbridges were used.
Lovely video and congratulations on 100k. Also great to be flying on such an old bird. Opportunities to fly the 757 are fast wearing thin. Soon they will be gone forever!
Amazing, one thing, they can’t use the jetbridges in stormy weather. It happened multiple times during this stormy season in Iceland this year. That’s why there were huge delays. Some had to wait 4 hours on the ground to get of the aircraft.
Toller trip report! Ich habe wirklich sehr gefallen gefunden, durch deine Videos mal mit den Isländern zu fliegen. Vielleicht schaffe ich es nächstes oder über nächstes Jahr mal mit denen zu fliegen. Lg
I haven't been on many airlines, but I've been lucky to travel with Icelandair on three trips, Saga Class once! Got lucky with their upgrade offer program, and boy was it worth it! But all in all, Icelandair is a great airline, always awesome service. Loved the video!
Is Icelandair a successor to Icelandic? Used to fly with them a lot trans-atlantic back in the 90s, as they were always the cheapest option and gave deep discounts if you had ISIC (international student ID) and were willing to forgo your checked luggage allowance.
Turbulence are nothing compare to air pocket. Experience air pocket once from Taipei to San Francisco. Longest turbulence experience was from Penang to Guangzhou, Whole Journey are 4 hrs but 3 hrs are turbulence all the time, no beverage service during whole flight.
This video was filmed before the pandemic. For further flight details, like the date, please check out the video description.
FlightExperience nice video I love it
Great trip report. I've always wanted to fly Icelandair (and to Iceland, such a beautiful country).
Thank you! It's so beautiful! You should definitely try to spend some time there!

Such a great video! I am hoping to travel to Iceland at some point within the next year.
Thank you! I'm hoping to do it, too! It's such a beautiful place on earth.

Great TR overall, with cool music. The scenes within Keflavík looked pretty dark and under exposed though.
*Congratulations* on 100k!
Thank you. Well it was still dark that early in the morning. That's why it looks underexposed and dark.

Isn’t the capital off Iceland called Reykjavik
Thanks for watching. Yes, but the airport is located at Keflavik, about 30min by car from Reykjavik, and therefore called Keflavik Airport.
FlightExperience ohh ok thanks

I thought this was a re-upload of your Icelandair Saga Class flight review, until I compared both thumbnails 😂
But either way, great review! 👍😄
Thanks. Yes, both thumbnails look quite similiar.
Nice
Thanks!
I didn't see anyone social distancing at the airport. They were all crowded around and that's quite dangerous.
Just have a look at the date of the flight at the video description. 😉
@@flightexperience_official oh whoops didn't see that 🤣
how primitive! no bridge!!!
Oh nice video...❤💙💚💛💜
