I remember seeing Travis Scott perform at Merlins Bar and Grill in Whistler BC Canada in 2015. He stormed off stage angry in the middle of a song and left because "the crowd wasn't hype enough". 90% of the people there were jumping and screaming his lyrics. People lost respect for him that night, if you're performing at a small bar to 200 people, what more could you expect.
The funniest part is that in his apology Travis is talking like he wasn't there. It's like the dude just woke up and was like "aw man people died at Travis Scott's concert?"
Travis Scott had absolutely no excuse to not stop the concert. I literally went to a Bring Me The Horizon concert last year in October. And with them being a rock band, obviously people in the pit would get wild, shove, and what not. But one girl who attempted to crowd surf was dropped and hit her head on the floor. The band made sure to stop everything, turn on the normal light of the place and started making announcements telling the crowd to back off and give the girl space, as well as give space for the medics to reach her. Thankfully, because of that the medics were able to quickly reach the girl, help her, and remove her from the put to help her get in an ambulance.
I was there! it was crazy but as soon as they noticed something was wrong they stopped everything and made sure the crowd moved away from her so the medics could get to her.
I went to an extreme metal show (death metal) and I started to drop because I was getting crushed and couldn’t breathe. Death metal shows are like 80%+ men and I’m a petite woman under 110lb so I couldn’t really move people around me to make a pocket of air for myself. The headbangers had gotten in between I and my husband and separated us so I was no longer protected. There’s a missing memory after that but I was told the lead performer signaled security and pointed to me. I was picked up easily,and carried out and my husband finally was able to find where I was because of that so he followed. I was taken to a safe area on the side of the venue allowed to collect my breath, given free water and was checked to make sure I wouldn’t need further medical attention. Death metal/Black metal shows go harder than anything Travis Scott would pull off in the same sized venue. The fact that I was immediately tended to and I’ve never even seen anyone even get a serious injury at any of the shows I’ve been to just drives home how negligent this whole thing was

As someone who has been to rock and metal shows, bands generally are always looking out for their fans. When I was at a bring me the horizon show, the band quickly stopped the show when they learned someone got hurt. (Dislocated knee. Ouch.)
Yeah I went and saw green day a few months ago and they stopped the show twice when people were hurt and didn’t start playing again until the injured people were taken out by paramedics
The real tragedies is that no one got in trouble for 10 people dying and Travis still has a blindly loyal fanbase. No matter how despicable or wrong someone is there will always be people who support them.

I fell backwards at a concert in 2012 due to the sheer force of everyone moving around me. Every single person that saw me fall freaked and pushed as hard as they could to give me space as some others helped me up. I didn’t think it was a big deal until later. Those people literally saved my life. Shit like this shouldn’t happen

I mean... Cardi B drugged men in clubs so that she could rob them, and she still gets praised by mainstream media and her fans to this day as if she did nothing wrong. And her excuse was that she doesn't promote that way of living in her music like rappers who talk about selling drugs and shooting people. So if what she did is acceptable in public opinion, then there's no reason that Travis should still be chastised over this. 100% it's his fault for not pausing the show or anything of sorts, but majority of the blame really falls onto the promoters of that event who knowingly oversold tickets just so that they could profit more money.

@@trelan1329 no they did. have you seen the videos? people were giving each other cpr, they were pulling each other out through the barricades, etc. the problem was that the music did not stop, travis kept on even after seeing multiple paramedics, and the people who were begging the staff didn’t care. if they stopped, they would have heard the screams for help. not everyone was aware but people were helping each other.
