who told you that? I am 62 years old and lived in 1989 when there were only about 80 channels total to choose from, no internet, and just a handful of entertainment industry magazines and TV/celebrity gossip TV shows. Your comment now in 2025 is the first ever mention I heard of this?!

Check out 'Yellow Moon' with Aaron singing, and my favorite 'Fire on the Bayou'. Another artist from New Orleans is Harry Connick Jr. 'She' or 'Whisper your name'.

I have to say mine and my husband's favorite romantic song. The song has so much meaning of our life together I had the words, "I Don't Know Much, but I Know I Love You" engraved on his headstone. My husband passed away in October 2016. We had just celebrated our 33rd anniversary. "I'm not a widow but the wife of a wonderful husband in Heaven".
In the first couple of seconds you paid attention; yes he has a very unique voice in the way how he sings. I have seen him in concert quite a few times and have always been mesmerized!! Definitely got to get into his rabbit hole, he comes from a musical family, “the Neville Brothers”. “Tell it like it is, is a banger, Everybody plays the Fool and lots more!!
Once you've heard this song, you will need to hear it, almost like an itch. They're good friends, and worked together a lot. He's a married man, far as I know.
@@kestrelle5345 yes at the time of that duet he was married and later lost his wife to an Illness and has since been remarried and is unfortunately retired from the music!
This is just pure gold. I love the way Linda let him shine and didn't try to outperform him. I think they actually dated around this time, but I'm not sure.
Yes, you are 100% correct. There were rumors of a romantic relationship, but that’s all they were, just rumors. But good lord they were vocally magical together!
Aaron Neville has been in a band with his brothers since forever, called The Neville Brothers. And they're probably 1 of my top 3 bands of all time & the band I've seen live the most times. They have songs going back to the 70s. But my favorite album of theirs is Yellow Moon from 1989. Every single song on that album is absolute perfection (there's also a Bob Dylan cover that's better than the original & a Sam Cooke cover that would make him proud). Their others are good too, but that one is my favorite.

Aaron is a favorite. I've seen several live shows. That heavenly voice! Listen to the early 60's record Tell It Like It Is. That made him famous. The Neville Brothers were some of the first to make New Orleans funk famous. Can't go wrong with the Nevilles.
Aaron definitely became the star of the Neville Brothers. He had an amazing voice. Kind of reminiscent in range of Johnny Mathis. He performed this duet at Linda's Kennedy Center Honors induction.
I love your videos Shon. Most of the songs you play that you've never heard of are ones that I grew up with. I sing along and I know all the words. Don't know who was actually playing for this show, but the studio band for this had Michael Landau on lead guitar. He is an audio engineer/session musician/record producer. He played with EVERYBODY, i.e. James Taylor, Kenny Rogers, Michael Bolton, Joni Mitchel . . . Also in the session band for this was the great Leland Sklar on bass.
