Since you’ve reacted to older Donkey Kong Country tunes from the Super Nintendo games, it’s worth noting that this game’s music was almost entirely composed by the same man who primarily composed the first two games in the SNES trilogy, David Wise! He actually stated that this was his favorite composition he made for Tropical Freeze.
These comments in the stream talking about “Rare’s DK design” at 3:22 and say they prefer “the Nintendo design.” Both are Nintendo designs. The “Rare design” was actually drawn by Miyamoto himself. He sent them a sketch of an updated DK design. Nintendo simply credits Rare because they design debuted in their games.
Donkey Kong Country games have this weird humor of pairing the Chillest tracks on the ost in some of the most gruelingly challanging and or exciting parts of the game, this is one such track.
It’s very much intentional. The idea is to keep you calm and motivated so you don’t quit the game when it gets too challenging. Celeste actually does something very similar in it’s soundtrack as well.
Oh boy I found a new stunner of a channel! The DKC games are some of my favourites and this was one of the levels that had my jaw on the floor with its music.
Oh man awesome u checked this out! U gotta check the rest of the tracks of this game DKCTF. Very well composed! Some notable songs are Forest Folly, Scorch N Torch, Twilight Terror, Amiss Abyss, Mangrove Cove (Underwater) and obviously Seashore War. U wont reget it like w this track!
Ooh this is lovely, I never played tropical freeze. I can hear that iconic donkey Kong harmonica thing at 5:00 🥰 I'm definitely biased towards the original donkey kong soundtracks though, donkey kong country 1, 2, and 3 🥰 i would love to see you play those games and react to the music in real time! You're epic Geebz ❤️
I'm very glad you're doing this for many game titles we gamers hold dear to us. You've already covered some of my favorite soundtracks. If you need recommendations, i would say Halo Reach - Overture (Martin O'Donnell & Michael Salvatori), Guild Wars (1) OST (Jeremy Soule), Baba Yetu (Christopher Tin), and the Prince of Egypt OST (Hanz Zimmer & Steven Schwartz) are some outstanding pieces to listen to. Thank you again!
Glad to see you are doing this because the games soundtrack is so good that the game is like worth playing for just it's soundtrack alone and same guy who was basically responsible for the old SNES games did this 😊
We need a slow burn for DK Tropical Freeze it has so many good tracks.

the context of this piece is that the Kongs return to their home island after they were ejected by the game's villains the Snowmads in a unnatural blizzard, but see the whole of Kong Island frozen over and the plants and animals suffering from the unnatural ice age. The "war" part of course is the Kongs fighting to take back what belongs to them.
I can't really offer a commission or donation for it, but I think you'd love the Tropical Freeze OST if you ever decided to check out more of it. It's David Wise's best work, in my opinion.
I'd like to recommend this please! Bionic Commando, Stage 1 for the C64 (it's not the same music depending on the machines!) Original composer was Harumi Fujita, and then Tim & Geoff Follin arranged it (a lot :) ) for the C64 into this absurdly great track, which uses only 3 channels ruclips.net/video/V1wsC-YdL-U/видео.html As an aside, I'd recommend anything from the Follin brothers, but everyone should listen to: Plok, the Beach theme; Pictionary, Title Screen; Silver Surfer, Stage 1; Time Trax, Title Screen; Solstice, Title Screen especially for the prog lovers ... but epicness beyond belief comes from Chronos, Title Theme, on the ZX Spectrum. Why? Because it is all coming of 1 channel, and not even a speaker: a BEEPER. Which Tim Follin tricked into making different sounds by turning it on and off at different speeds. At age 16. Without any studies in music.
I'm not a huge fan of Nintendo and as such I never got in to Donkey Kong. However, I will say the soundtrack has to be one of the greatest game soundtracks of all time.
Im not sure of youre doing normal music still or just gaming ost. But if you are still doing world music stuff too, you should check out AURORA-Queendom. I think you would have fun listening to all the layers in it.
I've been waiting for Tropical Freeze reactions!! :D The game's soundtrack was composed by the much beloved David Wise and you can hear a lot of his signature melodies in it.

He should react to the other great tracks from this game. Rly would fit the euphoric vibe he likes!
@Ballen1182 he always said he was fond of Lockjaw Saga I believe
@Ballen1182he said in a interview that from a technical point of view, it's Forest Interlude.
David Wise said this was his favorite song he has ever composed. Certainly a masterpiece among masterpieces.
I agree this his best work. Surpasses anything he's ever done for sure and that's saying something.
This is one of my favorite games of all time. Everything about it is absolutely sublime, and the soundtrack has dozens and dozens of fantastic songs.
Should listen to "Wing Ding" at some point. One of the best tracks in the series.
One of my all time favorite pieces of music. David Wise is truly one of the greats.

not true at all, Miyamoto did send a sketch but it looked nothing like modern DK, Kevin Bayliss is the one responsible for the redesign.

Ive always loved the juxtaposition of that
I may be mistaken but I believe that was an intentional choice (pretty sure it was at least for Stickerbush Symphony)

Really enjoyed this one with y'all! Loved the percussion and classical guitar! ❤
David Wise once said this was his favorite composition.
Late to the party, but this is one of the best OSTs ever, from one of my favorite games ever. "Masterful" is the only way I can describe it.
These Donkey Kong Country related games have some of the best OST music! Especially those by David Wise!

You should play it if you get the chance. It's an amazing game with an amazing soundtrack.
@@judgefish4044 I definitely will, thanks 😁
One of the best platformers out there with one of my favorite soundtracks!

My favorite track from the game. And possibly my favorite David Wise track. Great song.

Some strong late Mike Oldfield vibes imho - ie. Oldifield's more ambient "Songs of Distant Earth"
It’s crazy how good the music is in these Donkey Kong games. The game itself is really good maybe Geebz should play it next? ;)
You should check out the music for the rocket barrel stages - that's a heckin' BOP! :D
I can't really offer a commission or donation for it, but I think you'd love the Tropical Freeze OST if you ever decided to check out more of it. It's David Wise's best work, in my opinion.
Yay more classic video game music!
Would love to see you talk about Pokemon one day ❤
This is kinda similar to "Sheperd's Boy" from Doctor Who
This one is my fav from the game, actually!
Yeah everything composed by David wise is incredible. You should check out the the ost for the game tamarin.

Would love to see your reaction to Medal of Honor: European Assault main theme.
David wise is one of the best.
Also I would love to see you react to the team fortress 2 soundtrack. I think I already know you'd be a fan!
I'm not a huge fan of Nintendo and as such I never got in to Donkey Kong. However, I will say the soundtrack has to be one of the greatest game soundtracks of all time.
I'm sure it has something to do with their practices, you missed out on a shit ton of good games.
David Wise is the best, hands down!
Im not sure of youre doing normal music still or just gaming ost. But if you are still doing world music stuff too, you should check out AURORA-Queendom. I think you would have fun listening to all the layers in it.
Hey old man, just wanna say I love u :D
