Everything about this movie is so 70s I love it. Even that zoom at the end is kind of unsettling.
Ranshitha Kularathna isn’t that Tilda Swinton? Not the character Olga ?😂😂
Is a remake.
@@julietaramen5306 yeah we know, but still it has that 70s vibe. Love it.
That zoom reminds me of those typical shots made in sitcoms, or shows like Modern Family. It kinda made me laugh, although I know that it was meant to give an old style vibe 😅
Exactly what I was thinking!! It looks so old school, in a positive way, from the camera work to the sound effects. I love the original SUSPIRIA but for once I’m looking forward to a remake.
Can we talk about how amazing the sound design is? Every squeek and whoosh of movement is just
Man, the editing is majestic too!
Yeah man, got my heart racing. Just this scene alone too, imagine what the rest of the movie is gonna be like.
not to mention that arp in the end, awesum
The sound when she spins is hypnotizing
One minute of this scene was darker, more sensual and thrilling than all the Grey movies combined.
Pretty sure my bowel movements are more thrilling then 50 Shades!
@@adamw116 LMAO
It's almost like they're completely different movies with completely different goals
Her dance is hypnotic, ritualistic, and terrifying at the same time. My God, Dakota nails this.
I really don't believe it was entirely her doing that dance. Some moves she did. You can tell there are different body types in this scene.
Look, its clearly obvious that Dakota doesn't do all of her dance moves. Like Natalie in Black Swan, she might have done the most crucial ones especially the ones that show her face. However, even when the dance moves are not ONLY her own doing, Dakota still contributes in emotional investment -- her expression, her sighs -- and she successfully brings the mystery in the scene above. So, yeah, she nails it just like Natalie did hers.
Lizeth Rodriguez no it was all her , she used to dance when she was younger and I can’t remember when but she went on a talk show and they asked about the dancing and she said she didn’t use a stunt double
@@lilybrown5898 Dakota appeared on Ellen about 2 weeks ago and told Ellen they did not use a body double for her dance scenes. She studied dancing when she was younger and took some more current dance training for this role.
She did most of the dancing and only when she couldn't handle the dance moves did they need a double to step in.
The way Susie moves and dances is... mental. Hypnotic. Really liked the zoom in to Madame Blanc's face, the way Susie reflects in the mirrors, and the teachers coldly seeing her moving. Jeez, can't wait to see this movie even if I already know too much!
the teachers are holding their breath, paralised, shocked!
the cinematography is to DIE FOR
Love the cut at the beginning. Not seeing the beginning of the dance suggests it's not what she was dancing, but it was the power that she was giving off, that Madam Blanc sensed it from the other room .
@@PrimeMovies yes! That's another thing I loved about the movie. There wasn't just one leader. It was a collective, a "company" , and a coven!
I'm obsessed with the connection between her and madame blanc. It's like they fell in love at this moment.
Dakota nailing those dance moves suggesting Olga's notorious scene and Tilda Swinton's hypnotic Madame Blanc appearing out of nowhere (aka)
I'm so ready for Suspiria !
This had already became my favourite scene of the year
Aaditya Bhattacharya I love how the choreography kind of resembles gestures of demonic possession.
@@tatehildyard5332 look up "witch dance" by Mary wigman. She was a major source of inspiration.
beleive me theres another dance one like this but with her more intense and parallel is like the polar opposite someone getting thrown against the walls etc such a freaky and intense scene i wont ruin it ive laready said too much
INTENSE. This is the first time I've seen Dakota move that way. I'm fascinated. THIS IS SO GREAT I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE MOVIE!
The score when she starts spinning around is hypnotic af. Can't wait to see this!
Adeline Carney the whole soundtrack is really great!
@@JerichaG92It's made by Thom Yorke.
@@dimitristsekeris1821 yep!
Luca, Sayombhu, Dakota, her choreographer, Thom Yorke, and whoever mixed this are gucking geniuses.
0:22 The focus on this girl is suggestive. I think she's the one from THAT SCENE everyone's talking about
WHAT scene are you talking about?
Jakub Kaczor where Dakota Johnson is dancing and Olga is in a room of mirrors and is killed because her body is twisted and broken to death
Diego thank you
Diego that's must be really disturbing af
@@priyotomo203 Look up the articles that first covered the scene from back in April. You can really feel the discomfort and horror in the words of the reporters' descriptions.
We're all gonna die during this movie, aren't we? 😭
I didn't, many won't, although some of you will if you found this scene profound.
I'm guessing you didn't care for it?
Hm. Yes. Actually the movie was really very impressive.
Yes, we did.
That’s what I call visual and sound storytelling. It’s done in a way that makes one feel confused, worried with the lingering feeling of dread (A+ for tone). Very excited for this one.
Actually dance for this remake. That explains a bit of the running time. Looks great!
bnk57 I’m just noticing that the original literary had no dancing
@@calebcasas4399 There is... A little, and you can't enjoy it. There were true dancers in scene, but, i believe, they were not performing, just following directions to fill the secuences.
Originally they said it was 2.5 hours now it's 1.5..???!!!
It has, and as someone said before, they're very short scenes, although in the original was more ballet, and this looks more like interpretative dance. And yes, they seem to only following directions for the sequences.
Well, much of the running time was also consumed by the unnecessary subplot about the psychiatrist
1:21 tfw you found a new gif to make
This clip is pretty much a minute and a half, and I was completely unnerved by every single aspect, from its wild and 70s inspired cinematography to its unpredictable sound design, to Thom Yorke's brief piece of music.
And there's, what, 2 hours and 40 minutes left of the film? I don't think any of us will be prepared for this...
My absolute favourite moments of this film were its entrancing scenes of macabre dances, the dream sequences, as well as its specific uses of camera pans and zooms. They added so much to this film, and I want to re-watch the film when it comes out simply for those parts.
I have, I watched the film at the Sitges Film Festival on the 4th. Without giving away too much, I do think that the film is more violent than the original film. Although its violence is very contained, it saves its violence for a handful of scenes in the film. One of the most notable scenes made my audience clap, you'll know what scene that is when you watch the film.
Do not go in expecting a Horror film, this film is more of a drama that gradually becomes a Horror.
so pretty much hereditary
@@MrMarioguy888 it's true that Susie in this film is a vessel for one of the Mothers? And what do you can tell about Olga's death scene?
No, Hereditary was more of an atmospheric and character driven film. This film has atmosphere, although it focuses more on its themes and events. It's a film that's constantly progressing, although there are a couple of side plots that are inter-spliced with the main story. These side plots involve Dr. Josef, and his search.
Not quite, although I will let you watch the scene for yourself. As it is very fascinating how it plays out in the film.
Love the music at the end when she's spinning. This looks fantastic.
Who else is going to succumb to the nightmare and give his/her soul to the dance ?
ME
*raises hand slowly*
Trump & Putin
I'm giving mine to the Three Mothers.
Anyone notice the twirl of Olga in the back? She's clearly professional!!!
The cinematographer sayombhu mukdeeprom better get an Oscar nom for this after being robbed of one for cmbyn last year
I almost agreed with you until you until the last part.
The framing in Call Me by Your Name was amazing. The biggest cinematography snub in 2018 was Phantom Thread, though.
Visuals For You PTA didn't take a credit for his cinematography, so I think he couldn't have been nominated sadly.
Sorry guys, as much as I loved the other nominees, Blade Runner 2049 and Roger Deakins was easily the right choice for the Oscar.
Um no blade runner 2049 deserved that oscar more than anything there’s no competition
I will give my soul to the dance and dakota johnson
Some of those moves look straight out of Andrzej Zulawski's Possession, I dig it.
Everything about the way they edited and shot this scene is marvelous..the sounds, along with the shot of watching the reflection of Susie twirling in the mirrors, really makes it something else. All I can say is go in expecting no NOTHING like from the original and let it ride..It's worth watching,I promise.
Is she becoming the new vessel for Mother Suspiria? All the whispers during the performance... :OOOO
She already was Mother Suspiriorum. Her time in Berlin and the academy only awoke what was in her the whole time.
I don't understand how it got panned in Venice. These clips they're showing to us are impressive. The sound editing is exquisite.
Pedro 645 - search twitter - Luca, Tilda, Dakota got an 8 minute standing ovation!! Wasn’t panned, for sure!
This was the very bravest movie i ever went to a cinema alone because no one understands me💔💔💔💔
The camera work is amazing I'm obsessed
I’m actually crying because we still have got no official release dates worldwide. I can’t believe I won’t have the chance to watch this masterpiece
Marcos Souza in Australia its starting in the next few weeks but only at art house cinemas. I don’t think it’s being released on mass.
This better be in picture house central London
It's not a masterpiece.
Luca has the most beautifully shot movies I’ve ever seen
This looks really good - great sound and cinematography. And that zoom on Tilda Swinton at the end - very oldschool. Can't wait to watch this one
omg i'm obsessed with this editing
I think Dakota is trying to show us how talented she is after the Fifty Shades series LOL
She is very talented actually! 50 Shades was garbage she did just to establish herself and show she is not afraid to take chances. Also, during that series she had a few films which allowed her to show her range, Black Mass, A Bigger Spalsh.
I agree 100% :)
Dakota actually makes 50 shades somewhat watchable. It shows that her acting can slice through terrible source material. She sells her character as Anastasia and finally she can sigh relief as Susie.
I Paused this video halfway through and patted my leg and said loudly....NOW THAT....Is editing!!!
That zoom on Tilda Swinton does make a surprising impact. Hm.
why does every goddamn clip abruptly cut to kumail nanjiani
Ryan Laing I just spat
It’s like we’ve been snapped out of hypnosis. He’s the teacup ding from Get Out
You say that like it's a bad thing...
OMG I love the original and this Remake is already looking great. Everything so tense and cold, I thought I was going to miss the vibrating colors, but now I'm accepting this and it seems perfect.
why'd they zoom on tilda like she was in the office
omg, Dakota deserve a oscar nominee
Please bring this to cinemas in Brazil! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
Não vai vim infelizmente, talvez em alguns cinemas de arte, mas assim como outros filmes não
I would really like to see Dakota Johnson (Susie) play Mystique in X-Men if it gets rebooted for the MCU. Anyone else agree?
The movie overall is hit and miss but some scenes like this are amazing and make it all worth it
Dakota's snatchin my edges left and right
The wait and anticipation is tearing me apart. ;-)
Just like Olga
Ya, Me too
My jaw literally dropped 😨
Not like Olga's jaw will when she dances later.
Props to the choreographer for drafting this routine to be so mesmerising, captivating, one that shows exuberant, unstable life-force of a girl and eventually, a witch.
Dakota's wig will always have a special place in my heart. ❤️
I believe this movie was and still is very underrated
It was underrated, but I hope it will get proper recognition with time. Fingers crossed.
I am stunned at its ability to create the same wavelength as the original while using different storyline/music/cinematography/actors, etc. This is everything a remake should be. Expanding on what was already created.
She should call that dance the "Bent Olga".
She trained for months for dance scenes she did 90%
They know what they're doing, teasing the HELL out of this film. OMG November 2nd, please hurry!!!!!!!
My soul is present & accounted for. Go on & take it already!
Susie is a masterpiece 🙌🙌
Saw this last tues... LOVE IT!!
i just can't stop watching
Susy and her sighs while she dance, just a lead of the movie end.
Dakota Johnson really impressed me in this. I can see how you could compare her to Natalie Portman in Black Swan, but I think that misses the mark just because of how much physicality and character goes into this kind of modern dance.
This is fantastic!
Some steps of her dance reminds me the Sacrificial Dance from Pina Bausch's Rites of Spring.
Dakota's beauty is really stanning darn i feel like i want to be like her.
This will be in some ASMR in film compilation in no time
Dakota 😍😍😍😍😍
I CANT WAIT NO MORE FOR THIS!!! IT IS KILLING ME!
Wow !!!!! I’m really amazed and impressed
My heart was thumping so hard 😂
incredible dance 😓😨
loved this film so much, a masterpiece
I just love this scene. It's so powerful and artistic
L'occhio e la mente di Guadagnino farà brillare questo remake.
Can't wait to watch it.
Excited for this film 🖤
such visceral force...
Wow!
This is what live action waterbending should look like.
My god that was intense
Great concept
This reminds me of the 5 movements from The OA
Arianne Oliveira her hair reminds me of her
Blanc came to the room by magic.!!
that zoom in to tilda's face is ridiculous
It will be great time to watching this movie. This part is majestic!! I didn't know that she could dance like this ♡. gonna watch with boxxy software.
Wow ! Amazing scene♥
Hermosooooo
Looks just like possession
A coven of preschool teachers honey. From everywhere across the globe. These women were at work.
Terrific film
WOW
Omg this scene was CRAZY! I highly reccomend going to see it! Theres more than what is in the clip and its insane!
Branden Madary this was the whole scene though...
Diego I know. I had to go see it again. I meant another scene. The one with Olga. If you seen it you know what Im talking about. I dont wanna spoil it
there're already 2 clips released,
i don't think i'm gonna prepared for that... infamous SCENE (the one i read in comic con).
this really heighten & creeped the anticipation
1:21 I loved that zoom! Can t wait! DAJE LUCA!
i get the sighing sounds now
I think it might have been a mistake to start promoting this film 79 months before its release. The hype cycle has built up and faded twice already and it's still not in theaters.
Seriously though!!! I feel like I've been waiting an eternity and then some! I don't know if it's because the promotion began early, or if it's because that first teaser trailer caught my attention in ALL the right ways? Or maybe it's because the filmmakers seem to be holding all of the cards very close to their chests...? Either way, November 2nd ain't coming soon enough!!!
Eeeeentra na minha viiiidaaaaa!!!, Suspiria 2018! Lol
I cant wait for this
I wish I could see the uncut choreography. Is there a video of the dance without the other scene clips out there anywhere?
Sensual.
need to watch black swan, the Neon Demon and then this!
