the river running the train going by snd a nap in the afternoon on the beach does life get any better than this. and your wife watching over you. really can't ask for more. thank you for sharing.
I love the looks of the Thompson river and would love to camp there for a week to prospect. Keep making those amazing videos, ive learned so much from. 👍👍
The Thompson such a beautiful river and really a rock hound's paradise. The last 2 yrs Ive rafted the Thompson and let me tell ya what an absolute blast!!! Great video and nice little chunker. Planning a trip this spring./summer to do some prospecting and panning in the area.
Mad panning skills! Thank you for showing us your technique. And it's nice to see your lovely wife working the claim. This is my favorite of your videos so far.
very neat area, thank you for sharing...I built a stream in my back yard so I can pan the material that I bring home....I love teaching people how to pan. I like to put BB's in a first time persons pan, gives them confidence- if you can keep the BB's in there- you are keeping the gold in there. i recently started using a finishing pan for most of my panning. I love how deep and narrow the bottom is on them.I can pan like a Tasmanian devil until I start seeing the black sand, then I just throw another hand full of material in..keep doing this until the black sand gets too thick and heavy, then slow down and pan off most of the black sand.
it is always great scenery wherever you are at. Here in Oklahoma USA it is always red or muddy water besides the fact that there is no gold here. You have something very special where you are at besides the claims that you own. Good Luck With Your Operations !!!!
very nice guys. would love to come with you on one of your adventures. Your driving in my stomping grounds. I grew up in shalath and seton portage and went to grade 8 in Lillooet by train everyday. that was when the bud car went from vancouver to prince george. Thank you for sharing your videos and showing us what you see.
well good show Dan. l enjoy your videos . And others like Jeff Williams. I am now starting to prospect too. Thanks to all the info from y'all. Keep up with the videos my friend.
I came here because of your link and referring to this video in your latest one. Boy how things change. You have better set up, record yourself panning all the time with your new equipment. Thanks Dan
dan i have watched all your vids and am also in canada. eh. if i am finding flour gold in every single tablespoon full of sand i pan out is this good ground? and would it be worth digging deeper in stead of just taking sand literally from the surface that is yeilding at least 10 colours per spoon full. mind you the colours are about the size of fly poop and a little bigger.
Cool, I might take that mining class. I'm in Burnaby BC and I know you are around Penticton. I just got back from my buddies claim at Granite Creek, i think it's a few kilometers from your Blakeburn Claims. i think Gold prospecting is a unique thing to do at a young age (11, I turned 11 yesterday)
hi i have granite and quartz veined with small ribbons and different sized nugs. i tested the gold with acid test past ubove 22k. what is the easiest way to extract from slabs that are about 45 lbs each.
Love your channel and I am a new subscriber, couldn't help but laugh at the napping clip. It reminded me of Yosemite Sam on the Bugs Bunny cartoons when he would get his hat pulled down over his head. lol. I mean no disrespect and I am very envious of your beard growing abilities, but more envious of your gold mining and panning expertise. Take care and Happy Easter!
Thinking about doing this as a new hobby so been watching u to pick up pointers. I fig ill b farther ahead n maybe have a little knowledge to make up for my lack of experience!? I'll have to look into Colorado's rules n regulations, i dont no how much they very from where ur at!?? So keep explaining i am watching n listening n maybe u can teach this old dog some new tricks!? Thnks
Hi, i really enjoy your vids!!! We are from Germany and going to canada in September. We make a round trip from calgary to jasper to Wells Grey park to kamploops and back to calgary, do you know a Spot on the way where i can put my pan leagally in the water ? Best wisches
Nice one a miner needs his rest just a beard and a hat lol. the other side looks interesting eh. get a motor for the kayak you will need the power in yor arms for digging. Great stuff.
So what was the weight of the little nugget at the end of the video? I hope asking is not considered bad etiquette, I am just curious. By the way, love the videos! Keep posting!!
I started watching this video and was like im going to write how i never see him "DO ANYTHING" ie panning. Then ur sitting dere with a pan in ur hands speaking what was in my mind.....wow
When I'm my own camera man, it is hard to video tape myself doing anything other than talking and showing the area. I have had so many comments on this fact I'm trying to get more shots of me actually working the claims.
Dan Hurd hi Dan I new here i want to no how much it cost me for one on one lessons with you here my email guyjim24@gmail.com I like to hear from you soon..
War Pig hopefully someone will give you an exact answer , but from what I understand is that you have to "own" the area or the "claim" in order to mine for the gold , you don't necessarily own the land but you own the exclusive rights to mining that area or " claim" and no one else is aloud to mine your claim unless you sell it or give it away to someone, that's my best way of describing it , but I am no expert , just thought I'd try and give you some insite to it.
Lol and you said there's no nuggets there LOL. This is why I tell people just because you haven't found the Nugget yet doesn't mean there is not any nuggets always check your screens people make mistakes by assuming and not actually checking.
the river running the train going by snd a nap in the afternoon on the beach does life get any better than this. and your wife watching over you. really can't ask for more. thank you for sharing.
Thanks for all your enthusiasm and helpful comments re how to gold pan and where to look for good spots. Much appreciated from Golden Bay New Zealand.
Love that you and your wife can enjoy this together and make a holiday out of it!
I love the looks of the Thompson river and would love to camp there for a week to prospect. Keep making those amazing videos, ive learned so much from. 👍👍
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing, Dan! I love the PleasureWay vans....I never owned one but used to sell them. What a perfect way to go on site. Enjoy!!
The Thompson such a beautiful river and really a rock hound's paradise. The last 2 yrs Ive rafted the Thompson and let me tell ya what an absolute blast!!! Great video and nice little chunker. Planning a trip this spring./summer to do some prospecting and panning in the area.
Killer nugget! I think you should make another trip back to that bedrock spot.
Mad panning skills! Thank you for showing us your technique. And it's nice to see your lovely wife working the claim. This is my favorite of your videos so far.
I like your honesty when there is nothing in the pan. That river must run high in full flood, you way above the water line.
That little nugget was great mate and good to see your wife with you. :)
Watched this longtime ago but it was one of my favorites an first one I'd ever seen of yours. What made me subscribe glad it popped up again
Mark Pascoe same
Congratulations! That's a nice piece.
I love that your wife shares your love of gold. what a great family outing!
My wife is the best!
I feel you there brotha! Our women sure make our bad time better and our good times the best! Thanks for sharing some of the good times.
Having a great time watching Dan ...very cool hunt👍
That current is scootin along pretty good- glad you got a nugget for your troubles!
very neat area, thank you for sharing...I built a stream in my back yard so I can pan the material that I bring home....I love teaching people how to pan. I like to put BB's in a first time persons pan, gives them confidence- if you can keep the BB's in there- you are keeping the gold in there.

"Made it"! LOL!! There for a second I thought that kayak was headed for salt!!
It was tough going!
Hello...great weather...a little paddling and a nugget...nice👍
Awesome nugget there! Looks like a great place for a prospecting trip
Great video dan hub its great learned a lot mght actully try it
Hi dan is this Thomson Manitoba. Bin watching your vids for two days now . Wow you know your stuff.
it is always great scenery wherever you are at. Here in Oklahoma USA it is always red or muddy water besides the fact that there is no gold here. You have something very special where you are at besides the claims that you own. Good Luck With Your Operations !!!!
Goodness! Trains and gold, 2 of my favorite hobbies! May my wife and I come play too?
thanks for the great videos Dan!
Nice video ! Great to go back to what I didn't see before subscribing !

Dan's paydirt.... I'm very happy 😊
the pic of you taking a nap kinda reminds me of some of the older cartoons lol
well good show Dan. l enjoy your videos . And others like Jeff Williams. I am now starting to prospect too. Thanks to all the info from y'all. Keep up with the videos my friend.
I bet you will NEVER forget that paddle across the river.
good to see you panning again...but I gotta say, the last time I saw legs like that, they were hanging out of a nest!
I love this video Dan, loved the train too.
Thanks!
I am living in Cache creek and I wanted to ask if there is a place near your claim in this video where I can do some recreational panning?
The campground in Spences Bridge is a good spot.
I came here because of your link and referring to this video in your latest one. Boy how things change. You have better set up, record yourself panning all the time with your new equipment. Thanks Dan
Good nugget!!! Man you have a lot of claims!!!
I Did pretty good at the mission today!!!
Great trip! Man alive I need to get out that way!
I understand that BC has the most bigfoot sightings, have you ever had an experience.
I like the toy train setup. Very realistic.
Dan I really enjoy your videos! Thank you for sharing. :)
Hey Dan , where have you been ? I've been looking for any new videos from you . Hope everything is OK .
what do claims run for ... per season or to buy... from Ontario and not a lot to pan here lol
and you said there were no nuggets in the Thompson...lol great video.
Looks like more than .13g but I'd paddle across that current all day for pcs like that! Well done Dan.
dan i have watched all your vids and am also in canada. eh. if i am finding flour gold in every single tablespoon full of sand i pan out is this good ground? and would it be worth digging deeper in stead of just taking sand literally from the surface that is yeilding at least 10 colours per spoon full. mind you the colours are about the size of fly poop and a little bigger.
Your personality make watching your videos a joy. Very informative too.
But how do you seperate the gold dust from the black sand?
Thank you for the video Dan!
I was just there today! :) the water is so high!!

Looked like a fun trip.
Yes it was!

lol napping beside a full dry pan. Lucky the cuter redhead didn't kick ya!
Nice colors and picker ! Not bad for panning ! Time to move volume. :)
Finding a nugget in a spot you were just about to call it quits on, now makes you probably think every time "one more shovel full" lol
Exactly!
That was clever using the kayak to demonstrate the different current rates as you got away front he banks.
It was a bit of a shock when the main current grabbed me. I was not quite expecting that much.
Nice to see the wife out with you
So... Before your video started, an ad for an automated gold pan graced my screen. Made by Terrabend. Any thoughts on this very small device?
I have not tried it but I may in the near future
@@Danhurd Mark says he is now a dealer for them so I'll probably go see him sometime this weekend
Always makes you wonder about any bigger class thats been tossed out.

Happy Easter.. 16th hour into the Easter egg hunt 😴.. 4 more to go only.. Come one Kenny boy!!
Gergous place ..nice set up .😉 gold pan scotland ..
Love it 👊 👍
I grew up in Kamloops, reminds me of Lac Le June. Am I close?
Very close
Do you pick up claims that used to be other peoples? or have these claims never been touched before?
I pick up claims that used to be other peoples. I have staked my own as well but that's quite uncommon.
Hi, i really enjoy your vids!!! We are from Germany and going to canada in September. We make a round trip from calgary to jasper to Wells Grey park to kamploops and back to calgary, do you know a Spot on the way where i can put my pan leagally in the water ? Best wisches
Kamloops, Tranquille River
Nice one a miner needs his rest just a beard and a hat lol. the other side looks interesting eh. get a motor for the kayak you will need the power in yor arms for digging. Great stuff.
You make me want to be Canadian. You really must check out the new flow pan from Gold Hog!!!
Great Videos Dan! What was the total mass found for the trip?
Would you let me work one of your claims for a percentage? I have a mini high banker
Perhaps the black sand is worth more than the gold flakes?
Gold is where you find it, regardless of the signs.
Well you have to think when the river is flooding like 10 to 20 feet above thats when big boulders and gold are moving
No u
Newbie questions: how does one buy a claim? What exactly is a claim?
better than pickerton?
“There is no nuggets here” as you accidentally toss away a golf ball size nugget. Kidding, of course.
How do you know where to dig to find gold and gold is worth a lot of money
How cold is the water?
Refreshing
LOL now I see who's actually finding the gold. LOL the woman hahaha homeboy takes naps while she does all the work. 😂😂😂
is this a GPAA location claim?
Dan why do you not move some rocks and get down deeper?
Some of the hole I went down deeper, but it looks like most of the easy gold is on top here.
So what was the weight of the little nugget at the end of the video? I hope asking is not considered bad etiquette, I am just curious. By the way, love the videos! Keep posting!!
.13g
Ny
Is that Gold Pan camp site?
close to there yes.
Dan Hurd. As a kid in the 70's my family went there every year at Thanksgiving. Is Shawsprings still there about a mile south?
No, Shaw Springs and most businesses along this section of highway #1 have shut down.
Good to get out with the wife
Nice pannin, nice vid!
Thanks!
+Dan Hurd (Dan Hurd Prospecting) any idea where to pan on the yeller stone Im in Stillwater county?
What is a claim ?
When you show us a "big" piece of gold it would help if you put your finger in the picture so we had a size reference! Good video, thank you.
Nice gold!
Thanks
so jelly wish i could go
Dope spot!
I started watching this video and was like im going to write how i never see him "DO ANYTHING" ie panning. Then ur sitting dere with a pan in ur hands speaking what was in my mind.....wow

Nice Job Dan ;)
Dan Hurd hi Dan I new here i want to no how much it cost me for one on one lessons with you here my email guyjim24@gmail.com I like to hear from you soon..
Sounded like a shart at 5:25
Didnt know Billy Gibbons liked mining!
awesome gold
I’m still searching for my first nugget
I live in Manitoba but in the south.
On windy day please consider shielding the mic or using aw lavalier mic.
That's some nugget!
You should use a magnet to extract the black sand
Kumsheen?
what do you mean by CLAIM ??????? any1 please ????
War Pig hopefully someone will give you an exact answer , but from what I understand is that you have to "own" the area or the "claim" in order to mine for the gold , you don't necessarily own the land but you own the exclusive rights to mining that area or " claim" and no one else is aloud to mine your claim unless you sell it or give it away to someone, that's my best way of describing it , but I am no expert , just thought I'd try and give you some insite to it.
that river is moving fast!
Yes, yes it is.
Lol and you said there's no nuggets there LOL. This is why I tell people just because you haven't found the Nugget yet doesn't mean there is not any nuggets always check your screens people make mistakes by assuming and not actually checking.
