Back in 2015, My colleague took me around Tokyo and Yokohama an entire weekend in a Toyota Prius hybrid and I have always wondered why Toyota did not launch it in India. However, it has started with a Hyryder now. Happy.

With the brezza pricing we expect it to start from 10.95 lac ex showroom by Toyota and 10.99 lac by maruti for the neodrive base version...and similar to higher pricing on other variants..
But this would join list of few cars to get pretty loaded on base variant and let's see the performance of k15c performance on this car (which is heavier to brezza)
MS GV started at 10.45 and TKM UCH started at 10.48.. better as I was expecting on the higher band rather than beliving on the rumours

Hi MW, Please talk about dpf issues in bs6 diesel cars.... Talk with venue diesel example if possible, also talk about fuel quality in pumps and how they matter in dpf issue. Let us know how we can judge the fuel quality at nearby pumps. Does pumps like shell who charge a premium assure better quality fuel?

After innova, Toyota has created one market for itself after many failed attempts while following the market.. wish this product is a success as you said this is environment friendly than the EVs..EVs are good only where they have more nuclear energy generation..eagerly waiting for maruti budget cars to join the hybrid wagon,

It doesn't make sense to buy hybrid unless you are buying it to save the environment. If you are buying for saving on fuel, the math shows you will be at loss. First you need to pay a premium of 4 to 5 Lakhs for the strong hybrid which you will start to recover only after driving for 2+lakhs km. Apart from that, the cost of replacement of battery will make a big hole of 6 to 8 lakhs in the pocket in case if it goes down after 3 years. Though the battery companies claim 8 yrs warranty etc, when we go to claim the warranty you need to pay 70 to 90% of the battery cost even during the warranty period. Additionally you need to maintain both ice engine parts and hybrid parts which will increase your maintenance cost. Net net the amount we save in fuel efficiency is just an illusion in my view and life long we need to compromise on the less boot space.

Thanks a lot for your podcast on tyto hyryder. I have watched all the unveiling videos of this vehicle in Hindi and English. Just then you opened the mw podcast and I eagerly started watching till end. A very informative video on hybrid vehicles. Thank you so much. In other videos they told that it may be priced 10 lakhs onwards going upto 19 lakhs. But you told that it maybe priced from 14lakhs onwards going up to 20 lakhs ex show room. And one more doubt is that would it have either 4 WD or AWD? And if it is AWD will it have 2WD selection & will be with manual or automatic or with both? Because, from now for 10 years at least, I want an spacious automatic SUV with good mileage (25 to 30 kmpl) and 4WD. And with an on road price of around 17- 18 lakhs. Will you please guide me? toyota hybrid is an almost two decade old and proven.

hyundai creta diesel automatic is around 18l ex shrowroom. seltos around 16.3. in city usage this will give around 15kmpl.
hybrid will simply steal it there in city usage an hybrid will be more fuel efficient like EV simply beacuse of regenaration and the atkinson cycle has more time to charge the battery efficiently the same was seen in honda city in bangalore traffic with 25+ figure. And this btw is an 3 cyclinder.
The system is from yaris hybrid it delivered 30+ figures when tested in uk small towns.
if priced around same range of diesel automatics. B2B traffic guys are having a new winner here.
don't forget the 8 year warranty on battery.
hope Toyota makes this to smaller glanza under 15l.
