    These are the effective types of blocking in a real fighting situation. There is no time to plant your blocks, but just to be reactive. These blocks are simple and effective. Our 8 defensive kata, form, was developed from these blocks.

      Every blocks is necessary cuz you never know your attacker would react....so all blocks to focus on.

    "There, I gave you an option" at Double Hand Block is crazy.

      When you have something is coming at you fast, raise both hands for deflection because truly you don't know where or how that thing is flying at you.

    I really enjoyed your 2 blocking videos. The only things I would add that we do at my dojo are that the covers for the blocks are blocks themselves and a change of stance is also a way of blocking by either getting out of the way or by reducing the surface area of our target. Please excuse me if you have covered either of those concepts before or if you disagree. Either way, great videos. Just subscribed!

    Kata is just an encyclopedia, it is a set of strikes, stances, blocks, and steps. The form shows only one variant of using the movement. Everything depends on how we will combine all these techniques. All combinations and movements cannot fit into forms or kata. There are a lot of options ...You need a creative approach and an understanding of how you can combine all these movements at your own discretion and be free in your own style. Thank you for the interesting and useful videos...We are waiting for new videos...good luck to you

    Tell your partner to pull back his punch just like he would punch in a real fight. Try to catch or trap his hand...impossible

    • @continuousfist
      @continuousfist  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yup. That is right. Continuous punches would be difficult to catch, but only parry. The extra moves were only to learn continuous movements. The essence of the video is in the types of blocks if punches come to you as fast as you said. Thank you for watching my videos.

      We do have sparring where someone hits you for real, but karate is for health purposes while making training practical. We shouldn't train where our training partner can get hurt permanently.

  • @michaelking6398

    The puncher is not moving like a real fighter. His "punches" are moving like he's expecting the (particular) block in focus. Not moving TO the target. A real fighter is throwing the punch with body weight and closing distance.
