      Every blocks is necessary cuz you never know your attacker would react....so all blocks to focus on.

    Great videos i really enjoy them. I also liked the freedom approach you speak about in regarding Kata. We all need to look into the Kata and find away to make it realistic.

    I really enjoyed your 2 blocking videos. The only things I would add that we do at my dojo are that the covers for the blocks are blocks themselves and a change of stance is also a way of blocking by either getting out of the way or by reducing the surface area of our target. Please excuse me if you have covered either of those concepts before or if you disagree. Either way, great videos. Just subscribed!

      When you have something is coming at you fast, raise both hands for deflection because truly you don't know where or how that thing is flying at you.

    Inside block or outside block step inside ready to block unless there is an opening for a quick fast elbow strike or go for the neck . 😊 thank you

      @@akthambeeast good question. These are blocks from a distance. When it comes in multiple, you don’t block more than once. You either charge forward or lateral. Thank you for your support. I mentioned about multiple punches in my other videos.

      You can’t. Blocking is based on distance. You can only block what you see.

    Kata is just an encyclopedia, it is a set of strikes, stances, blocks, and steps. The form shows only one variant of using the movement. Everything depends on how we will combine all these techniques. All combinations and movements cannot fit into forms or kata. There are a lot of options ...You need a creative approach and an understanding of how you can combine all these movements at your own discretion and be free in your own style.       @EMOSTORYTIME if you have a wing chun dummy that would help. The other option is tying a stick to a pole and use the stick to act like an arm. Best of luck!!!

    Tell your partner to pull back his punch just like he would punch in a real fight. Try to catch or trap his hand...impossible

      Yup. That is right. Continuous punches would be difficult to catch, but only parry. The extra moves were only to learn continuous movements. The essence of the video is in the types of blocks if punches come to you as fast as you said. Thank you for watching my videos.

      @@continuousfist First is being realistic & getting direction.. Punches were like a ft away from your face. With this type of training you could train for years & still get destroyed by a random off the streets

    The puncher is not moving like a real fighter. His "punches" are moving like he's expecting the (particular) block in focus. Not moving TO the target. A real fighter is throwing the punch with body weight and closing distance.

      We do have sparring where someone hits you for real, but karate is for health purposes while making training practical. We shouldn't train where our training partner can get hurt permanently.
