I have no money to throw at you, but your narrator certainly delivered a better quality of that story. Kudos.

@@bold810 Enjoy! It was one I had overlooked during my Call of Cthulhu (first edition) roleplaying years.

Two thoughts occurred to me, as I was listening to this.
Firstly, it seems like a half of a collaboration with Robert E. Howard, like they both agreed upon an outline of a story, which they then each wrote their own version of. Or as if Howard penned an outline which Lovecraft then fleshed out. I have absolutely no evidence for this idea, but Malone seems like someone out of a Howard yarn; he is described both as 'a dauntless fighter' and as both 'an Irishman' and 'a Celt'. And generally seems like he was a man of action before his breakdown.
Secondly, I wonder what Robert Sydam's deal is. Did he plan to interrupt the ritual all along, or did he change his mind at the very end?

Robert E. Howard was in the so-called Lovecraft Circle, so your estimation is possible.

Funny how Lovecraft swears the word 'viking' is an ethnicity. It was actually a trade or profession. The fact that they were largely from Scandinavia is besides the fact. To call children 'vikings' is ludicrous. How can they have possibly razed and pillaged English settlements??? Just waltz in and kindly ask them to roll over?

I would disagree with both. I especially prefer his human centered horror over the creatures.

Thats why he's been ripped off and that is why he takes the brunt of a time when everyone is guilty of thoughts like himself. You are probably a 5e dungeons and dragons lover that never read the great science fiction or horror writers like Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, Edger Allen Poe, or even has respect or a understanding of history. Have you watched the gangs of New York by Martin Scorsese or even read a historical book. Probably not your a emotional victim of education, have a good day
