Great video! I like the 2 last trade, for me the first doesn’t make any sense who want Dlo, while Trent and Vanvlet are assets / not liabilities (raptors fan, I must admit)
Without saying anything obvious, but getting Wembanyama would be huge for the Raptors. I always feel like the best way for them to keep a superstar long term, is with an international one. Also, Canada is a bilingual country, so the French speaking thing would be a big deal to certain places here.
The Raptors getting Wembanyama in the draft and play for them would be a big boon for them. Imagine the amount of coverage they would get. The amount of attention the Raptors have with Wembanyama playing for them from across the pond is almost comparable to how Lionel Messi gets lots of attention from Europe and South America playing in his Barcelona days.
Keeping a superstar for the Raptors has always been about drafting them. When they come here as a young player they like it and will stay here regardless of nationality. They leave because the team lacked strong leadership. Carter/Bosh/DeRozan all resigned here McGrady would've if Carter wasn't here. But when the team went directionless they left.
Raps are in good hands and if they decide to keep only OG/Barnes/Koloko/Precious as their core going forward and drafting a special 2way PG who has a high basketball ball and playing making to compliment excellent defense. I think the Raps want to maximize what they can get for their players. Raps wouldn't consider any of those trades less more picks and assets are attached.
I think this is the tear it down year. They can get crazy assets like zach lowe is suggesting. OG and Pascal alone getting traded will set them up for a 1-2 year rebuild. The one I agree with the most is the Portland trade with Siakam and Trent two two way players that will seemingly fit easily with Dame. Imagine a Dame/Trent/Grant/Siakam/Nurk definitely gonna be title contenders. And the Raptors get players on Scottie’s timeline.
@@hualchr6697 they dont have to trade siakam by trade deadline. its more ideal and easier to move him in the summer in a mediocre free agent market, they probably get alot more for siakam then if they cant get 3-4 unprotected picks and young players at least. look what rudy gobert went for in a summer trade. siakam is worth at least 4 unprotected picks.

Raptors iso ball doesn’t work because EVERYONE isos not because they don’t have a guy like Luka. Pascal is one of the best iso players itl, the problem is there’s no shooting or other creators around him and Nurse doesn’t use him or the others in sets very well
I haven’t seen the video yet, but I feel maybe you share the same sentiment as myself? : I feel everyone on the Raptors is incredible, but as currently constructed, we sadly can’t win a championship - the league is tough. But if everyone on the raptors were to go their separate ways, every single one would be able to make an impact on a new team.
AM Hoops: *Raptors should blow it up and rebuild, this current 6'9 forward-heavy vision isn't working* Also AM Hoops: *Trades 24-year old guard Trent Jr. for another 6'9-ish forward who can't shoot* In no world does it make sense for the Raptors to trade away Trent in the nuke scenario. Yeah he's an UFA but the Raptor have his Bird Rights and can make the best offer for him, plus they can offer him a 5th year which no other team can. And I like Jovic!
its called contracts coming up for raptors. go look it up. siakam barnes and og will cost potentially 105 million a year for 3 players. you add trents 30 million thats 135 million for 4 players. thats 14 million before luxury tax to sign 11 players and 2 two way contracts for rest of team. thats a recipe for a bad team like lakers who are top heavy.
@@giovanni-ed7zq I know how the cap works. Trading Trent over OG, Fred or Siakam if you're worried about salary (and MLSE shouldn't given how much money they make with all the overpriced tickets, etc. they sell) doesn't make sense even when you account for what Trent is likely to make under a new deal and how the front office messed up by not locking him up as an RFA for 3-4 years.
You just compare this nets team with last season nets team 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 It's just the record but they are way way way way way way way better and balanced this season
It’s either try to make the playoffs this year and actually play of tank it for the raptors. So weird how they have the same team as last year and are significantly looking worse
As a raptors fan, I feel like Fred has to go as he's playing a lot worse than last year. I feel like we should keep OG as he is a legit DPOY candidate. I feel like a trade with Fred and Gary for a good 3-point shooting guard would be nice.
I think we keep Gtj, even though he started the season really rough his shooting has drastically improved and in the last 2 games has made 2 clutch threes
As a Raptors fan I’ve seen it all. Been with this team since 95. And will continue to be with this team. You don’t just bail on your team because they not winning. You got to be optimistic things will change. Kids don’t understand this mentality however
Hawks fan here. I feel like Raptors and Hawks are both in a very similar boat. I can see how Raptors may want to tank this season, but I’m not sure if it makes sense for Raptors to blow up the team. Raptors have really good talents that have higher ceiling. Blowing up team for Victor race doesn’t seem to make good sense to me…. Good suggestions on trade ideas though. But I would also consider team chemistry after blowing up the team and team’s identity. I thought Raptors were on a right track on its rebuild. This season is a bit disappointing, but something I feel the Raptors will figure out in its second half of the season.
I've got two trades: Raptors get: Caris Levert, Isaac Okoro, Lamar Stevens and 2024 FRP Cavs get: OG Anunoby The Cavs ditch the draft pick to build around their young core and they get a legitimate option at the wing. The Raptors get 2 young players and a guy who can pop off on any given night if you give him a role as a starter (that guy being Caris Levert). So basically the Raptors blow it up and the Cavs get a nice upgrade Second trade: Raptors get: Michael Porter Jr, Christian Braun, Vlatko Cancar, Zeke Nnaji, Bruce Brown and 2029 FRP Nuggets get: Pascal Siakam So obviously there's a huge haul for Pascal and the Nuggets are possibly the favourites to come out of the West so All-NBA type material like Siakam really solidifies their case as championship contenders. The Nuggets send all of their young guys and role players to Toronto for a superstar, not much to say here imo. And also a FRP because why not, after all that title contention the Nuggets will probably be bad by 2029 with an old Jokic so there's some value there too.
if they rebuilding, they will ask siakam if he wants to be apart of it, rather than have him disgruntled. he likely say no, so they try to move siakam by deadline, but if not then in summer. siakam is not gonna wanna be part of a rebuild in his prime, he will want to contend.
They SWAPPED picks with the spurs in exchange for Thaddeus Young...they did not "give up" a 1st for him. They DID NOT pay "A TON" for OPJ, his deal is for 6M/year.
This is obviously not the year for the Raps. And it's hard to see how next year could be that much different if they just tweak around the edges. They gotta take the NOLA/MEM route.
The Raptors have a much tougher remaining schedule this year than they did last....playoffs are not likely in the picture. So trade ALL older players for younger players and picks .....the only one I would keep is OG he works really hard on defense and really tries to get rebounds on offense.
I honestly think after we won the chip, we should’ve traded for PG13 and Westbrook. Kawhi wanted those 2 in Toronto and he would’ve stayed, we could’ve got 3 all star calibre players, easily added pieces around those 3 and run it back to back to back. Thunder wanted FVV and OG plus picks, we would’ve kept Powell and Gasol. Frustrating knowing we could’ve built a seriously strong roster giving up unproven players who’s value was only up because of Kawhi. But we chose the unproven. Raptors for life still ❤
I don’t know your source on this, but there was no way Kawhi was staying in Toronto and you should be glad he left. How much has he played since leaving? One game in four?
@@mysterirhys Woj was reporting it 1 week before he signed to the Clippers, that footage when he flew into Toronto was his final meeting, saying if you don’t make the trade, Clippers will, he was using both Teams to compete for trades, he was waiting to see who would flinch first and Toronto said all good, thanks but no thanks. Thunder had a trade lined up with Toronto, PG13, Westbrook for FVV and OG plus 3 picks I think Pascal was also included.
I like the video, but as a Heat fan, I hate that trade. Van Vleet and Gary Trent aren’t worth giving up Jovic, Lowry, and a pick. But Pat Riley knows better than me, so we’ll see.
I doubt that the Raptors are going to sell to tank, I think they're trying to buy an asset to get into the playoffs this year and get a deep run within the next few. I think Fred is on the table to trade up from
As a raptor fan, I personally don't think that the team should be blown up. For the following reasons: 1) This team is incredibly young and needs time to develop properly. People need to understand that this is only the second season with this current crop of players. It took Kyle and DeMar years to get good, what is the rush? 2) Masai does not want to be the GM of a tanking team that will not be competitive for at least 3-5 years. One thing I can say is that the team as presently constructed is bad, shooting and lack of rim protection have been a consistent problem for this team for the past two seasons. But regardless I'm going to trust Masai and Bobby and hope for the best.
go look at the cash crunch coming up with contracts. basically times up unless you want to be a top heavy team like lakers. barnes rookie max extension is gonna be 30-35 million a year, siakam supermax is gonna be 43-50 million a year. og anunoby max extension is gonna be 30 million a year. you looking at 105 million just for 3 players. you pay gary thats 135 million for 4 players. precious contract coming up likely 8 million a year, thats 143 million a year for 5 players, and 6 million left before luxury tax to sign 10 players and 2 two way contracts. we not even including boucher here or otto porter and thad and khem
This is only their second year together and everyone is still young. This team IS their rebuild. I highly doubt they're going to trade Pascal, OG, or even Fred.
lol fred is gonna opt out of his contract and bet on himself in a mediocre free agent market and take his chances. you dont move fred you lose him for nothing because the reality is they cant afford to resign him. siakam they will ask if he wants to be part of a rebuild and he will likely say no cuz he wants to contend in his prime, so he will be moved by deadline or in summer. i dont see og moved unless a team offers like 4 first for him.
Players dont choose to go to Toronto, so, none of the trades are good for them. Ayton + Crowder + Cam Payne + Cam Johnson for OG Annunoby + Gary Trent Jr + Fred VanVleet. This helps both teams NOW.
wow you were so right about the nets legit the same as last year they are just looking better they have a fun young roster but 6 seed instead of 7 and swept in the first round AGAIN as a nets fan what the f***
Trade FVV and Jr before you lose them for nothing. Give up Siakam for a haul of youth and picks.... all good... but please God do not give up OG. He's a defensive God, his shooting just keeps getting better, and he's only 25 on a good contract. He and Barnes could form the core of a strong, young team.
Since somehow none of this happened, and they added Poeltl while Trent and FVV are potential free agents. I'm really curious to see how this off season pans out.
pels can only take 1 of them. and the pels dont have enough picks for both. og wont be moved unless someone offers like 4 first for him, cuz masai wont move og unless he gets a crazy offer being in same timeline as barnes.
I mean, if they wanted to keep Siakam, they wouldn't tank. They would use OG, Precious, and either Fred or Trent to reconfigure the roster. Which is doable. The center position is probably the easiest to sign. If the Pacers are still interested in moving on from Turner, OG can anchor a package that would beat most. Poeltl, same story (though admittedly awkward to trade for a guy they moved). For the PG position, that's a good bit tougher but I don't think it's impossible. Siakam is still young enough and good enough to reconfigure around him and build a legitimately excellent team. But it would require bold rethinking of their whole 6'9" vision vause adherence to that is what landed them in this mess.
As a raps fan I was with you right up until the absolutely TERRIBLE (Charles Barkley voice) trade proposals. Why on earth would we trade Fred AND GTJ for DloW and jovic? So dumb.
I do not see a reason for the Raptors to trade Og. Siakam and everyone else not named Barnes sure I can understand the argument. Og is 25 young enough to be a part of a young core. And fits on any team in the league.
What about OKC speeding up their timeline with how good SGA has been. I think SGA and Siakam would be an unbelievable duo. They have most picks in the league to offer Maybe Giddy and 4/5 picks plus salary for Siakam and Trent. SGA/Trent/Dort/Siakam/ probably climbs to the 6th seed this season, and may be a contender when you add Chet to the mix

I love how the raptors have a better team than us...but we have luka so we're still 4th in the west while the raps r 12th 😅. God bless that slav 🙏.
Great video! I like the 2 last trade, for me the first doesn’t make any sense who want Dlo, while Trent and Vanvlet are assets / not liabilities (raptors fan, I must admit)
agree with this, just keep scotty. they have so many tradeable assets that contending teams will definitely try to have.
As a Raptors fan I think it's time to blow it up but not go overboard with trading our glue guys like Pascal or fred
When we were 7-8 I was already ready to tank for wemby
@@theflashb6857 16-23
Without saying anything obvious, but getting Wembanyama would be huge for the Raptors. I always feel like the best way for them to keep a superstar long term, is with an international one. Also, Canada is a bilingual country, so the French speaking thing would be a big deal to certain places here.
True his global status alone will help the Raptors as a global brand and it can elevate us to be watchable at least
Cavs, Pacers and Magic futures are alot brighter
If heat got Siakam I would LOVE it
Miami would have to give up Herro, Jovic and like 4 first rounders
I think this is the tear it down year. They can get crazy assets like zach lowe is suggesting. OG and Pascal alone getting traded will set them up for a 1-2 year rebuild. The one I agree with the most is the Portland trade with Siakam and Trent two two way players that will seemingly fit easily with Dame. Imagine a Dame/Trent/Grant/Siakam/Nurk definitely gonna be title contenders. And the Raptors get players on Scottie’s timeline.
i dont see og moved unless some team offers like 4 picks and young guys, he still fits in barnes timeline and is on a team friendly contract.
@@giovanni-ed7zq no one is gonna pay even three Picks
@@hualchr6697 they dont have to trade siakam by trade deadline. its more ideal and easier to move him in the summer in a mediocre free agent market, they probably get alot more for siakam then if they cant get 3-4 unprotected picks and young players at least. look what rudy gobert went for in a summer trade. siakam is worth at least 4 unprotected picks.
Thanks A.M for making this video. I love all of these guys but I know it would be the right move. Tbh I had more fun watching the Tampa raptors then I am right now.
But just imagining this lineup makes me happy:
Pg. Simons
Sg: Sharpe 🇨🇦
Sf: Scottie
PF: Jovic
C: Boucher🇨🇦
Not to mention that we would have the bench mob back🎉
That's a god awful roster lmao
@@JohnDoe-230 lmao bro I I looked at that and laughed, this roster is gadabage, besides Scottie.
I work at a liquor store and DA came in one day and I said to him that I’m glad you’re staying in PHX and he said that “I’m glad too. I didn’t want to live in Indiana.”
As a Raptors fan, if there's any year to rebuild...it's this year
As a Raps fan none of these trades are enough value all are off by a decent amount. Gary and Fred for Jovic and a 1st is ridiculous and Russell has hardly any value
Raptors iso ball doesn’t work because EVERYONE isos not because they don’t have a guy like Luka. Pascal is one of the best iso players itl, the problem is there’s no shooting or other creators around him and Nurse doesn’t use him or the others in sets very well
I’m a Celitcs fan but I feel bad for the raptors fans poor pepole 😔
Dont feel sorry for us. We won our chip in 2019 and now it's the celtics turn to do it with Tatum.
@@young_scisloving9789 thanks man I loved y’all’s 2018-19 team also do you think you guys will trade pascal siakam?

U have become the best nba youtuber this season, big ups
Best NBA content out here 🙌
I’m just now getting into the nba, so it’s interesting to see them like this after they won the finals.
It’s been 4 years
I haven’t seen the video yet, but I feel maybe you share the same sentiment as myself? :
I feel everyone on the Raptors is incredible, but as currently constructed, we sadly can’t win a championship - the league is tough.
But if everyone on the raptors were to go their separate ways, every single one would be able to make an impact on a new team.
AM Hoops: *Raptors should blow it up and rebuild, this current 6'9 forward-heavy vision isn't working*
Also AM Hoops: *Trades 24-year old guard Trent Jr. for another 6'9-ish forward who can't shoot*
In no world does it make sense for the Raptors to trade away Trent in the nuke scenario. Yeah he's an UFA but the Raptor have his Bird Rights and can make the best offer for him, plus they can offer him a 5th year which no other team can. And I like Jovic!
He’s gone bro. But I’d do that Portland trade in a heartbeat and I’m sure Portland does it in a heartbeat
its called contracts coming up for raptors. go look it up. siakam barnes and og will cost potentially 105 million a year for 3 players. you add trents 30 million thats 135 million for 4 players. thats 14 million before luxury tax to sign 11 players and 2 two way contracts for rest of team. thats a recipe for a bad team like lakers who are top heavy.
@@conr9550 fred wants 32.5 million a year like tyler herro. same with gary.
Great video ...one of the best commentary on this teams season. As a raps fan I say blow it up or fire NN ...Go raps ✊️
This is one of my favorite videos. Nice work Casey!
You just compare this nets team with last season nets team 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's just the record but they are way way way way way way way better and balanced this season
It’s either try to make the playoffs this year and actually play of tank it for the raptors. So weird how they have the same team as last year and are significantly looking worse
As a Raptors fan I agree with this
Yea.. unfortunately this is kinda obvious at this point, solid points .. and well put together content
Kids don’t understand this mentality however
Youngns are strung out on immediate payoffs with this instant culture. Old heads know sometimes shit can stay misty for a while things manifest.
Siakam is playing so good but, if he got traded I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes to the Thunder

The fact he said this before fvv rejected a max extension
fr
im also a raps fan and theyre playing ass this year
I've got two trades:
Raptors get: Caris Levert, Isaac Okoro, Lamar Stevens and 2024 FRP
Cavs get: OG Anunoby
The Cavs ditch the draft pick to build around their young core and they get a legitimate option at the wing. The Raptors get 2 young players and a guy who can pop off on any given night if you give him a role as a starter (that guy being Caris Levert). So basically the Raptors blow it up and the Cavs get a nice upgrade
Second trade:
Raptors get: Michael Porter Jr, Christian Braun, Vlatko Cancar, Zeke Nnaji, Bruce Brown and 2029 FRP
Nuggets get: Pascal Siakam
So obviously there's a huge haul for Pascal and the Nuggets are possibly the favourites to come out of the West so All-NBA type material like Siakam really solidifies their case as championship contenders. The Nuggets send all of their young guys and role players to Toronto for a superstar, not much to say here imo. And also a FRP because why not, after all that title contention the Nuggets will probably be bad by 2029 with an old Jokic so there's some value there too.
Thanks for doing a video on the raptors man! Pretty much spot on with your assessments
the portland trade sounds interesting but does masai have the balls is the question sadly dont think so
If Masai can trade Derozan then anything can happen.
if they rebuilding, they will ask siakam if he wants to be apart of it, rather than have him disgruntled. he likely say no, so they try to move siakam by deadline, but if not then in summer. siakam is not gonna wanna be part of a rebuild in his prime, he will want to contend.
Sharpe is a local guy too. He would by hype in Toronto. Especially if given a primary spot on a young team.
Agreed
Raptors for life still ❤
You can be lucky they didn't trade for Westbrook
We would’ve had to throw our future away. We’d be in a lot worse of a position rn
@@6t7ghost all that tells me is that he was using Toronto for leverage.
I shared your video on Twitter… this is something that I can get behind
I like the video, but as a Heat fan, I hate that trade. Van Vleet and Gary Trent aren’t worth giving up Jovic, Lowry, and a pick. But Pat Riley knows better than me, so we’ll see.
I doubt that the Raptors are going to sell to tank, I think they're trying to buy an asset to get into the playoffs this year and get a deep run within the next few.
I think Fred is on the table to trade up from
I trust Ujiri . He seems pretty quiet but when he strikes it’s consequential and often bold
As a raptor fan, I personally don't think that the team should be blown up. For the following reasons:
1) This team is incredibly young and needs time to develop properly.
This vid will do good algorithmically just from the sheer amount of passionate raptor fans online
Mavs should go after Siakam.
They should go for it big time. I think the knicks have to make a move tho. But Dallas should go big they’re have a chance.
That bit about Wembanyama was funny 😂
This is only their second year together and everyone is still young. This team IS their rebuild. I highly doubt they're going to trade Pascal, OG, or even Fred.
Pascal is in his prime he doesn’t fit a rebuild might as well get something in return
lol fred is gonna opt out of his contract and bet on himself in a mediocre free agent market and take his chances. you dont move fred you lose him for nothing because the reality is they cant afford to resign him. siakam they will ask if he wants to be part of a rebuild and he will likely say no cuz he wants to contend in his prime, so he will be moved by deadline or in summer.
i dont see og moved unless a team offers like 4 first for him.
Players dont choose to go to Toronto, so, none of the trades are good for them.
Ayton + Crowder + Cam Payne + Cam Johnson for OG Annunoby + Gary Trent Jr + Fred VanVleet.
This helps both teams NOW.
I would do OG to the pelicans for devonte graham, Dyson Daniels the 2023 lakers first, 2024 lakers first, and another future 1st round pick.
Great video! I love all these ideas, mostly Raptors getting Wemby.
Kyle Guy was waved last year, Heat have Orlando Rbinson and Jamal Cain on 2 way contracts now.
Big fan of your channel, pls I beg u, keep up the good work
Facts
Good content, but tanking is nonsense... Orlando Houston Charlotte Sacramento etc etc
wow you were so right about the nets legit the same as last year they are just looking better they have a fun young roster but 6 seed instead of 7 and swept in the first round AGAIN as a nets fan what the f***
None of those 6 foot 9 players are close to the talent of a Tatum
Trade FVV and Jr before you lose them for nothing. Give up Siakam for a haul of youth and picks.... all good... but please God do not give up OG. He's a defensive God, his shooting just keeps getting better, and he's only 25 on a good contract. He and Barnes could form the core of a strong, young team.
Since somehow none of this happened, and they added Poeltl while Trent and FVV are potential free agents. I'm really curious to see how this off season pans out.
At the end of the day I don't see any of these proposed trades happening. The picks being offered are way too low to have value.
I never miss you’re videos
But comments on coaching is accurate... which poses the question is it better to gut or simply change coaching?
Great 😃👍 work Casey, you're the truth my friend, love your insight. Like your look bro, you look like Tyler Herro
You’re bang on about this offense. It makes no sense why they run so many isos when they don’t have a superstar level talent
Can you do a Miami Heat video please? I would like to hear all our options
I think the Pelicans can offer lots of picks for o.g and pascal
I would like that Lakers pick from this year 😅
Yeah not sure why they weren't considered. I thought they would be the number one team to pull of a Pascal trade.
pels can only take 1 of them. and the pels dont have enough picks for both. og wont be moved unless someone offers like 4 first for him, cuz masai wont move og unless he gets a crazy offer being in same timeline as barnes.
As a raptors fan, this team ain’t it beside luck. They need a big piece and then they got everything to provide
I agree the Suns are probably desperate to get something but there is no way they're giving up three young players and three first round picks for OG.
So dumb.
I just hope they keep OG on the team
raptors fan here and i agree. i was thinking of a trade like, siakam and thad young for desmond bane, jjj and picks
I hope raptors take that lowry back.
I do not see a reason for the Raptors to trade Og. Siakam and everyone else not named Barnes sure I can understand the argument. Og is 25 young enough to be a part of a young core. And fits on any team in the league.
New editing style? Well if it is than I love it
Barnes can't coexist with Siakam. It cannot happen
What about OKC speeding up their timeline with how good SGA has been. I think SGA and Siakam would be an unbelievable duo. They have most picks in the league to offer
Maybe Giddy and 4/5 picks plus salary for Siakam and Trent.
SGA/Trent/Dort/Siakam/ probably climbs to the 6th seed this season, and may be a contender when you add Chet to the mix
