    i am 70 and remember decades ago i was the only one , the only one at the Maritime College listening to the Mahavishnu Orchestra , it was for me heaven and slowly at the Academy and onboard the vessels one by one i got more people into John McLaughlin an absolute master !!

    JM’s tone is just so good here. He rarely plays with this much gain and I wish he would more often. Such a great tribute.

      I think he plays through a real amp here and not the digital emulations he used on stage for years. The tone is so much better and does justice to his incredible musicianship.

    Thank ( insert preferred deity ) that John is still here, as so many have gone. Their music will always be here ( unless all the hardware melts!) but always in our hearts and minds.😎💞🎸

    I´ve saw John lots of times also with Shakti. Great times Great times. Beck said John is the best.I´m blown out.

    John is the elder statesman and No.1 player of all time... he helped Jeff and Jimmy (and maybe Eric, too) with their early playing and without him this holy trinity would never have happened.

      @@javiceres John even mentions it on his website. He owns a white strat and said it reminds him of the one he gave to Jeff Beck in the mid 70s. Jeff played a les paul (oxblood) prior to that. I've read it from other sources too

    It was a great night, my wife got tickets for my 70th birthday, it was just amazing to be entertained by so many all time greats, loved every minute.

    Wow! Greatest rhythm pair I've heard in a long time. Anika Nilles drumming killing it and Rhonda Smith taking bass journeys that blow my mind . JM is a master of fusion. Great choice!!!!!

    Killer playing. Like the original master Jeff Back would have demanded, performed with tons of space allowing each musician to show their true abilities. Miles would have been knocked out.

    I should of spoke of when John came on stage, It was glorious.Jeff just destroyed the hall, everyone was mesmerized. John comes out and ask"s everyone for moment of silence To Pray. Unbelievably a third of the audience leaves.Better seats avail .What a mistake. The M.O. crushed it.52 years ago and he still kills it. Im going to take a moment to pray. T.Y. John and Jeff, PEACE

    John is the most respected guitarist by Jeff Beck.
    Not one of the most.for Jeff, the most of the most.
    During the interview after releasing Blow by brow, when Jeff was asked about John, Jeff stopped the question and said “I can’t play as John!”
    It showed perfect respect for John.
