I like that Frenchie and Kimiko's relationship aren't super on the nose, their relationship works well from platonic and romantic perspectives. They're like best-friends who happen to be together.

@@brandanmentch Personally I don't care if he is bi or gay, but I wouldn't say "it's character development" because to me it just felt like it wasn't developed well😭 I could have rooted for him and Colin but it was just so fast and out of nowhere so that I as a viewer couldn't really form an attachment to their relationship. On the other hand, the kiss between Frenchie and Kimiko was the only kiss in the show where I felt something, probably because it was slow and build up. I like the show overall but I truly feel like The Boys doesn't know how to write any sort of romance.
So overall it's not about him being gay or bisexual, it is about the poor execution. If Kimiko was a man, I would have rooted for their relationship too and if Colin was a woman I still wouldn't have liked the way his and Frenchie's romance was written.

Kimiko sees Frenchie as family. This was established in Season 3. They were never gonna end up together, they just care for each other. That is why Frenchie ended up with that other guy, I think as a way to develop the character since Frenchie also killed his family. But s4 is not done yet so we will see

I think it's very realistic. Frenchie has been a heavy user for years. If they lived a normal life he might want to try and sober up. But they are constantly in exceptionally stressful and life threatening situations. Not ideal circumstances to check into rehab.

I'm still mad that they ruined this lol not only the slow burn was thrown out the window (I still believe they had romantic tension, she rejected his kiss because she was distressed and they didn't had that close connection yet/he was enamoured when she kissed him and later she said it was weird, but not bad/it was just in ONE convo after 3 seasons that she said she felt weird, not a compelling reason to deny all the chemistry they've been building from the beginning) but they (the writers) made up a whole new relationship in 1 freaking episode (10 minutes max of screentime). They were "holding hands" (touching fingers lol) 2 minutes in ffs. And the next scene they're already kissing?? And then sleeping with each other?? I'm not saying the writers need to do another super slow burn but the new relationship has developed SO FAST it doesn't make any sense, in any tv show but especially in The Boys. At least they should've shown why Kimiko and Frenchie couldn't work out and then start developing another relationship with somebody else. Idk. Lazy asf. Kimiko saying that they won't be together period doesn't make any sense to me. At least be together for just 1 week so you're sure you don't want to be with him like that. Idk I can't find the logic anywhere.

Kimiko had a permanent compound V given to her before she was born. She lost her powers when soldier boy used his energy attack on her. She regained them permanently when she took temp V because she always had some from before her birth. Butcher didn’t have powers when he was born so temp V is only a short time for him.

The Finale was fantastic, one of my favorite episodes from the entire show, but it just reaffirms my stance on the Frenchie-Collin subplot. It's so pointless. He doesn't even come back. What was the point? It doesn't really develop Frenchie all that much, and he ends up falling in love with The Female anyway. I'm not against giving Frenchie a sub plot he's a great character, but the Collin one wasn't it :/
