I’m just getting into Star Wars armada, and of course a victory comes with the base set, so I was going to give it expanded hanger base and go for a more squadron heavy strategy.
Looking at the finished fleet I think Romodi would have been the better choice. Enemies are going to be trying to flank around the sides, and the cumbersome Victories will be trying to shoot through each other. This was always the problem with multiple of these slow ships before, but Romodi really helps with this. I also think you desperately need more deployments as you can't afford to have the Vic1s in the wrong place -enemies can avoid you too easily. I'd like to see 4 generic Tie Fighters via dropping Dominator and Quad Battery Turrets. That leaves points for more officers, Admiral Titus would be good here.
Armada was one of those games that I REALLY wanted to play, but could never find anyone else interested in it in my area. Awesome vid! I love it when players try to make/play lists loving the unloved.
I’m glad someone is giving the Victory some attention. If there was something you could change about the Victory would it be a change in its upgrade suite or would you just lower the point cost?
I've always loved the idea of VSDs, but the fact that they're slow, unwieldy, and as expensive as they are without a native defensive retrofit just makes them unappealing to me except as a VSD-1 with Local Fire Control and Linked Turbolaser Towers as a cheap-ish area denial piece.
When you compare it to the Venator, I see how the Victory starts to look lackluster. However, this build still looks pretty formidable since they pack a lot of dice; and you even managed to squeeze in maneuverability and rerolls into it.
I think there are a ton of great options for Harrow to take, Engine techs is fun, but i have seen lots of people putting their admiral on Harrow with Auxiliary Shield Techs and ECM for a deceptively tanky command ship
Love the build, but you forget that is the Republic does get access to the Victory in the future, they will not have access to the Victory II-class SD, since it was an imperial upgrade (if you go by the lore of SW, which FFG and did, I assume AMG will try to do also). Which means that the Republic will probably have access to the Victory I-class and probably a Victory prototype ship card. That is my guess. So I think the Republic Victory will be different in the sense that it also won't have access to many ion cannons (blue dice), since ion weaponry was not very popular during the Clone Wars despite the fact that the Separatist made a super ion weapon. Ion weaponry was popularised by the Empire and Rebellion.
Do you feel like rereleasing armada ships with different paint schemes and new cards like the chimera or with X-Wing is a good idea? Is that the way forward for armada?

I love the harrow title with engine techs, it fixes the manuverability issue.
I love using my VSD as a heavy hitter that I send out while my ISD serves more as a command ship. It works for me!

I have almost the same list
Use 3 Vic2,Motti as the admiral.
Each with the title 7th fleet and 7 generic tie.
I love the victory. I understand why they aren't the best ship, but pound for pound their pretty awesome. They could definitely be cheaper though
Victory star destroyers need love. But with attention, they will work.
I feel old ships need to be reworked

When I run a Victory, I run the Victory II with Harrow, gunnery, disposal, quad turrets, and harrow having it sit in the back.
