This was a very brave choice to make this be the main combat theme. The rap went from loving it ironically to unironically loving it. It is the ghosts pumpkin soup of our age.
For people that never played this masterpiece, this song might sound silly at first, but when you're in a huge badass mech fighting monsters that towers even it, you bop your head to this for sure.

It sounds like a song that some guy would actually make in that situation. On a hostile alien planet, no help coming, black tar killing and possessing people... And the singer just being some guy trying to vent his anger and fear at everything going on. Sure, it might be a bit corny and on the nose, but it's also full of sincerity for the same reasons.

Many people dislike this song, truth be told I love it, specially after minute 3:00, Xenoblade Chronicles X is by far my favorite Wii U game and one of the best I've ever played.

For the dlc quest "making love source," they reuse a plant model from X. 3 borrows multiple mechanics from X: the classes, the sidequests, vehicles (granted only the one as a teaser). one of those sidequests even use sensors for material/enemy detection, down to commenting that they need better placement. Torna had a similar sidequest or two to this that was less involved but for the same type of thing. But 3 leans heaviest into X mechanics and the theme and word "legacy," is used a lot in 3 (though in reality the entire xenoblade trilogy has this theme of legacy and the word is repeated very often throughout the games). which was a code name for the next monolith game, and X happens to get dropped? Yeah, no X has been on their radar a long time. Hell the story of 3 was spinning around well before 2 even had its box art. Takahashi is a madman.

@@KayFiOS Actually if xbc-x hasn't been ported already on the switch is because the nintendo switch is way less powerful than the wii U, and xbc-x is too big for the switch and it's little sd card like games.
Tatou Arumajiro No the switch is definitely more powerful than the Wii U and the games are about the same size as the Wii U ones. It’s just important to remember that for most people xenoblade x was also too large for the Wii U. You had to have external storage even if you bought the game physically due to the massive optional patches that were needed to make the game run perfectly. Something that can be done again but monolith probably thinks it isn’t worth it to do the port compared to the first game and work on new games and IPs. They are a pretty well used studio by other nintendo studios as well. It’s certainly possible to bring the game over. It just likely takes man power to get it to where monolith wants. I mean look what they did with definitive edition. They’d probably want to adjust the art style to look more in line with the series current aesthetic like they did with the original. I’m also sure they’d prefer to make it more optimized to avoid a repeat of the optional patches that took up more space collectively than the Wii U had natively available on the console.

This game is still severely underrated. I always thought it was bad until i tried and eventually beat it. The story might not be as good as the other games in the series but that quality difference is really small and the story is still great. One of the best games on a bad console.

From what I understand, MonolithSoft is hesitant since there would need to be some sort of downgrade, most likely visually, to fit it on a Switch cartridge without an external download required to run the game. The game is just a bit too big.

Anyone else found it funny how most fans hated XCX because it was "too different" (due to music, environment, story, etc.) but no one seemed to actually talk about how the gameplay of XCX compared to XC and how XCX clearly was a revamped, upgraded, and better version of XC's gameplay? Like when it comes to video game sequels like XCX it's like people forget to compare the actual gameplay but just find ways to hate it because "it wasn't like the original." Not that XC wasn't better at XCX at some aspects but jeez this fanbase is already all over the place and we're only 3 games in now... (Not including the other Xeno games)
I think the main problem is that people treat X as a sequel when it was intended to just be a different style of game with more emphasis on gameplay/exploration. But the vocal majority is that the main story wasn't as good as XBC therefore the game is terrible and every other aspect is ignored.
Exactly. I read even the creator himself admitting that the new XC games are not actual sequels or in the same world, but people ignore that and just want a sequel following up on Shulk. Seriously people only talk about the "bad" story and music of XCX but no mention of gameplay, exploration, atmosphere, graphics, world size, etc. I will soon get to XC2, and I wonder if the lower review scores (compared to XC) are actually due to it deserving those scores or "not being the same as the original."
Yeah, I hate to see X get undermined for not being a game it was never trying to be. Not to say it doesn't have its flaws, but it's not some terrible game a good bit of people try to make it out to be. I haven't really paid much attention to XC2 since I don't have a Switch and the character designs honestly look kind of bad to me. I'll give it a shot some time down the line when I do though.
It certainly has flaws, my only gripes with the game are some pacing issues between chapters, the music not fitting in during the cut scenes (literally random songs being put loudly over dialogue-heavy scenes), the game (at times) not telling you anything about a gameplay mechanic that's important (like Overdrive, had to search online how to actually use it correctly), but other than that I personally preferred X over XC, but simply due to the genre/atmosphere of X being more for my taste. I will play XC2 soon and I too do not like the graphics/artstyle at all, but the gameplay looks just as interesting as the last two, so I'll be sure to give XC2 a try despite the god-awful character designs (and awful voice acting judging from the trailers and clips I've seen.)
They need to port this game onto the Switch. I know that's another WiiU game being ported to the Switch, but this one really deserves another chance with the many who didn't get the WiiU and got the Switch.

Anyone else found it funny how most fans hated XCX because it was "too different" (due to music, environment, story, etc.) but no one seemed to actually talk about how the gameplay of XCX compared to XC and how XCX clearly was a revamped, upgraded, and better version of XC's gameplay? Like when it comes to video game sequels like XCX it's like people forget to compare the actual gameplay but just find ways to hate it because "it wasn't like the original." Not that XC wasn't better at XCX at some aspects but jeez this fanbase is already all over the place and we're only 3 games in now... (Not including the other Xeno games)
I think the main problem is that people treat X as a sequel when it was intended to just be a different style of game with more emphasis on gameplay/exploration. But the vocal majority is that the main story wasn't as good as XBC therefore the game is terrible and every other aspect is ignored.
Exactly. I read even the creator himself admitting that the new XC games are not actual sequels or in the same world, but people ignore that and just want a sequel following up on Shulk. Seriously people only talk about the "bad" story and music of XCX but no mention of gameplay, exploration, atmosphere, graphics, world size, etc. I will soon get to XC2, and I wonder if the lower review scores (compared to XC) are actually due to it deserving those scores or "not being the same as the original."
Yeah, I hate to see X get undermined for not being a game it was never trying to be. Not to say it doesn't have its flaws, but it's not some terrible game a good bit of people try to make it out to be. I haven't really paid much attention to XC2 since I don't have a Switch and the character designs honestly look kind of bad to me. I'll give it a shot some time down the line when I do though.
It certainly has flaws, my only gripes with the game are some pacing issues between chapters, the music not fitting in during the cut scenes (literally random songs being put loudly over dialogue-heavy scenes), the game (at times) not telling you anything about a gameplay mechanic that's important (like Overdrive, had to search online how to actually use it correctly), but other than that I personally preferred X over XC, but simply due to the genre/atmosphere of X being more for my taste. I will play XC2 soon and I too do not like the graphics/artstyle at all, but the gameplay looks just as interesting as the last two, so I'll be sure to give XC2 a try despite the god-awful character designs (and awful voice acting judging from the trailers and clips I've seen.)

They need to port this game onto the Switch. I know that's another WiiU game being ported to the Switch, but this one really deserves another chance with the many who didn't get the WiiU and got the Switch.
