People make fun of Carth, but he's a well-written character. Idealistic, but wise too, in his way. Jolee might take a broader view of the cosmos, but Carth is very good representative of "lawful good". If it weren't for people like him, the Republic wouldn't be worth fighting for. He'd be a good dad too, IMO.
Honestly, around the time this game was released, I hated Carth. He came off as a simple minded, goody two shoes. I recently picked up this game again and saw what you saw. Also, he’s pretty charming if you play as female Revan.
He's in that character "type" that I cannot resist writing fanfic about. Yes, Lawful Good but got smacked hard by a universe that does not play fair and is struggling with anger and temptation to go "To hell with it. If the universe isn't playing fair, why should I?" And, yes, at the core very idealistic. The character suffers in the "canonical" male playthrough because half his arc is locked (only one Bastila conversation is locked to female players). It's pretty common to see fan scenarios that write him and Mission as falling into a dad and daughter pattern. He needs to be a dad. Mission, as much as she's gonna protest otherwise, needs a dad. (Force knows Griff sucked at parenting)
@@andrewshepherd1633 I feel for Dustil. He idolized his dad, yet he couldn't be there when it mattered most. Still, I feel like he'd come around if they had a heart to heart after they both got back to Telos IV.
Carth was always one my favorites. Guy lost everything, his home, his wife, his son fell to the darkside. Yet he still keeps fighting. People bash on him for treating you like shit when he finds out your revan but can you really blame the guy? Even though you changed you still were responsible for all those deaths. Sure everyone else didn't care much, but thats because their lives weren't as affected by your past actions as carths. Say for canderous but he's mandalorian and loved every minute of that fight. Carth was the only one to truly lose alot. Betrayed by the people he looked up to. Put yourself in his shoes. Could you still partner up with the man who orchestrated all that hardship you had to go through? Cause in the end carth still stayed.
Just because someone cares for someone doesn't mean they have romantic feelings for them. So in this case, that would mean Carth isn't interested in Bastila romantically.
Originally, you were going to encounter him on the tomb in the caves on Korriban, but he was changed to another dead jedi, but the model changed. I took that to mean all appearances and mentions of Dustil in TSL were non-canon.
@loganstarr96: Well, it could be my game settings and one of them would be brightness. When recording your game with Fraps to make a video for RUclips, it will record your game as you're seeing it at that moment and that would include an adjustment to the brightness.
It's never stated in game, but there's a lot of little things in-game - the crazy luck of escaping the Endar Spire with Revan, crashing in the good part of town, getting away clean, the strange insights and offhand predictions (like "knowing" he's gonna be there when Saul dies and have a hand in it), coming from a world seeded with Force Sensitives that didn't make the cut for Jedi, his kid swinging a saber, seeing Ajunta Pal...any one of these on its own can be blown off. Add them up and...yeah. He's probably lucky he wasn't traveling with Exile or he'd end up another Sentinel Seeing as that theory has been kicking around since this game was launched, I also would be willing to lay a $5 spot on this theory playing into why his successor, Kaiden, got specced as a biotic.
@staten0267: No, and the fact you would even wonder that makes me wonder what in the world is going on in your brain. Because if I meant my username to say that, it would have. I wouldn't have shorthanded it. Besides, I'm a guy. I have a wife and a 1-year-old daughter.

Dustil would disagree lol. But yeah I'm with you

I just love how Carth describes the Darkside. It's a perfect way to think of it.
me too, it's insightful and shows great understanding of people

The best game ever
Ishbu101 Always will be 👍👍👍
Ishbu101 swtor ruin this game rip the true old republic
No doubt about it
Love how Carth stumbles over his feelings for Revan. ;-)
they are a match made in Star Wars heaven!
They are a perfect couple! Definitely meant to be together

And his son learns to use the Force. ;)

I talk to them all. I like doing 100% playthroughs when I play these games. Or, any game for that matter.

@JediShemL getting kotor 1 and 2 for pc do you know where i could get some good mods?
hey guess what ive beaten this game 57 times and the second one 27 times
Yep... Carth is definitely force sensitive.

If it was cut from the PC version, then how did I play this scene?
@thephoenixforce: It's not like you couldn't have talked to Carth as well.
Where did you hear that?
wow, thats really interesting. are there any male scenes that females don't see? (Besides kissing Bastila of course ;-)
you know, if you get it for PC (wich i do), you dont need to download yavin 4 station, it is already there
Aww Carth is concerned about your PC XD what would KoTOR be without him lol
Look up KotorFiles on a Google search.
The KOTOR comics further expanded upon this
I thought that was cut and non-canon
Only when Revan is female. ;)
I would have to say you're wrong.
This is a female only scene.
why are you having a contest who beat the game more times?
@JediShemL i agree Revan and Carth are ment to be together :D
That's because you need to be a female for this scene.
WoW
@JediShemL hopefully
how do you put in mods if you know come to my account and tell me
@loganstarr96: No.
Lol carth is like revan
sucks and he's talking to revan
@staten0267: No, and the fact you would even wonder that makes me wonder what in the world is going on in your brain. Because if I meant my username to say that, it would have. I wouldn't have shorthanded it.
Besides, I'm a guy. I have a wife and a 1-year-old daughter.
settle down
