Basically this video was for her fans who have known every single musical era she has been in. The song is about her transitioning from indie alternative music to pop again since people thought she wouldn't be able to do it after her two albums folklore and evermore. Then throughout the whole video is just references throughout her career. At the beginning an old song called enchanted was playing in the background from her 3rd album speak now, the stepsister calling her a snake is reference to her album reputation since the whole world called her a snake (for something she didn't do 💀), exile was mentioned which is a song from her folklore album. The buttons to the elevator were all her albums color coded. In the martini glass scene she was dressed like her 1989 album era since she wore her hair like that a lot. And then her song called long live from her speak now album played and it mentions castles and dragons which is why the end scene was that. Also, she is rerecording her first 6 albums so she can own them and she has her 2012 red and 2008 fearless done and basically the whole video was a hint to her saying speak now and then 1989 are next to be rerecorded. But I loved the reaction 🥳
In the martini scene Dita Von Teese queen of burlesque, the pioneer of the martini glass strip tease, appears in the video as her “fairy goddess” - not godmother - and teaches her the martini glass routine for the talent competition.
Thanks for the two reactions to her new videos. Her prior vids are certainly an adventure in quality production and storytelling. Hope you'll do more of her.
Subscribed with the hope you react to more Taylor Swift! She has SOOOOOO much amazing music, and is the queen of hidden messages too. This video has a massive number, which is why a lot of is makes sense to us swifties !!! I would recommend All to well the short film if you carry on reacting to Taylors discography!! (I really hope you do!😁🤞🤞🤞)
just the fact that the stopwatch at the beginning said "exile ends in 3, 2" and then the video cut. taylor is VERY meticulous and this isn't a coincidence. of course its portraying that the "exile" of being in the house with the evil step sisters is over now, as she walks into the elevator right after, but i think it's also alluding to how as of october 21, 2022 (midnights release date) she had 2 weeks exactly until she was finally legally able to start the rerecording process on the latest album that was stolen from her (rep). in the SONG "exile" she has a line that goes "and i can go anywhere i want, anywhere i want just not home." and its a very popular theory that this song is referencing her masters fiasco, as in, shes THE taylor swift. shes (i think) the highest paid music artist right now. she can do ANYTHING she wants to, except own her own goddamn masters. anywhere she wants, just not home. so to see "exile ends in 2" and have it cut off right after to me means so much more than just leaving the house in the music video.
That’s called Burlesque with the cocktail glasses, the one with brown hair is Dita (s) Vantis and is the ex wife of Marilyn Manson. This whole song is about Scooter Braun who bought the rights to her own music. It’s her claiming her entire music career, she regains her castle in the end and the “king” (AKA) Scooter Braun is locked out.
