    Your videos are amazing ! We need to get you more subscribers! I have this issue - in the morning, the first thing i notice is - "ooh my HR is high - why? " or "man why am i so shaky after waking up?" and then I start ruminating and hyperfocusing on my body sensations which then cause even more anxiety. There are days I tell myself - "dude, Cortisol levels are high in the AM because they need to be to help you awake!" - I have been dealing way too long with these symptoms- sensations that keep me stuck in anxiety. Your videos give me hope and education. Thank you for what you do!

      Thank you so much Hugo. Your words have bought a big smile to my face! I really appreciate the feedback! It’s tough starting up a channel as building subscribers on RUclips can be slow work at the beginning but knowing people are out there enjoying the content really helps to keep me putting this stuff out!!! Thank you for sharing this.

    Yep, I can relate to this. One of the first things I start thinking about after getting up, is what I have to do for the day, whether it's writing a shopping list, replying to emails (Hoping that there will be positive responses to those I have contacted) I even started to ruminate about my forthcoming telephone conversation with YOU! - "Will I say the wrong things" etc.. And onto waiting on news about two auditions I had a couple of weeks ago.. "Will I get the job(s)?"

    I appreciate the explanation of the physiology. That makes it less scary, especially when you mention the breathing gases.

    I have found that if I wake and get up straight away the physical anxiety effect disappears fast. Or, if I insist on staying in bed, doing sone muscle tensing and releasing for the whole body, also dissipates the physical feelings. I love your work and the breathing video was a game changer.

    You have just made me join the dots. Three years ago I had an event while i was drinking my morning coffee, i couldnt breathe and my legs gave out when i got up (I later found out in hospital it was a panic attack) I have spent three years and thousands of dollars on trying to figure out why I keep getting all these phsical symptoms
    mainly shortness of breath, random chest pains etc that just seem to come and go as they please and I sometimes go to sleep feeling ok but I ALWAYS wake up anxious and have that feeling in my chest. Thank you so much, hopefully what I have learned from you today will help my future because i have tried to many methods and nothing seems to work for me to feel normal.

    Please continue making these videos. Your explanations are the best I have found in describing anxiety and how to manage it. Thank you so much.

      Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate it. I have been currently flat out the last few weeks getting my children's book (on the theme of anxiety) ready for launch BUT have filmed the next one and it will shortly be released. My intentions are to keep making these and to grow the channel. Really want to help. Thank you for subscribing. You are very welcome to be here. :-)

    Thank-you for sharing your insights.
    I think for so many the key is lowering overall cortisol, as you suggested, that way the morning spike won’t even be noticeable.🙏🏼 That’s definitely the key in my case. I already don’t drink caffeine and I breathe through my nose (belly breathing).

    This all makes so much sense but what I struggle with understanding is why me? If it's a physiological response why doesn't everyone get morning anxiety? Makes me feel like something is "wrong" with me which perpetuates anxiety even more.

      Great question Stephanie… and I think due to cortisol levels pretty much everyone experiences raised awareness/anxiety levels. HOWEVER, if we unconsciously mark it out as ‘an issue’ we likely start paying attention to it more and become hyper alert to it. Then when we experience it, both our experience of it is hugely increased (in comparison to those who barely even notice it at all) and therefore the narrative we create of, “I have terrible anxiety” etc is also increased. Additionally if we have anxiety “in general” then our cortisol morning spikes are likely to be higher than someone who has raised cortisol levels but who starts from a lower base position. As mentioned in the video, rather than thinking about this as, “how do I deal with morning anxiety?” It’s more about how to reduce anxiety overall whilst allowing for some naturally occurring cortisol spikes in the morning upon waking. Hope this helps clarify. 😊

    Antibiotics for H Pylori started my anxiety and panic attacks. Never had it before.

      I once took some antibiotics which affected me in this way. I guess the trick is to know that it was a response to medication and not turn them into a bigger issue of "NOW I suffer with panic!".

    Thank you, i found this video very informative. One thing i struggle with is anxiety in the evening/before bed and anxiety around going to sleep & fear of dying during sleep. Do you have any advice for this?

    Why do my symptoms still linger even when I'm not feeling stressed or anxious

    • @anxietybeatinghacks
      @anxietybeatinghacks  2 года назад +2

      Great question... but in the context of this video I think the point is that it is normal to have a cortisol spike in the morning. In other words without stress or anxiety your body naturally increases cortisol in the morning to wake you up. The problem comes is if we start attaching too much meaning to this and then becoming hyper alert to the sensations.

    Fun Fact: you can over breathe with your nose too. I have this issue and I'm constantly taking deep breaths in and out through my nose. The control pause method works really well. This channel has a video on it and those suffering should check it out. Take care my friends

    • @anxietybeatinghacks
      @anxietybeatinghacks  Год назад +2

      YES you certainly can. It's certainly easier to overbreath if you are mouth breather and harder to over-breathe if you are nose breather but YES totally possible. The video referred to is on the channel BUT I also have a free webinar which goes into a little more details here: www.airhunger.org
