What also worked for me was searching for windows security in start menu, then right clicking and going to properties if it isnt showing in the list of apps. once that is done you can reset from the properties option

how i fixed it was
i type up windows security after clicking windows key
then i click on app info from there navigate repair the app or smt like that and now it works for me :D
also i turned on run app in background always so i think that might help in future

Rebuilding all apps did the trick for me thank you so much. When I was able to access windows security again I found that local security authority protection had been turned off somehow. Maybe a virus??

I wasnt able to open windows security in the bottom right corner nor in the settings. I clicked on it but then the button just turned a little darker and then the entire window in the setting broke. Restoration process is the last and the only helpful process for me.
How i create this problem -
I downloaded a game and for installing it i turned off all the windows security and after installing when I went to turn on the windows security, it stuck and not opened.
I tried all the process repair, reset, terminate, and many more but only restoration would help.

This process is fully offline.
And the time it will take is fully dependent on your storage card. In my case I have an SSD type storage card so it takes approximately 20 mins. And this process will delete that much file that you installed after that time.

I can tell from my experience that non of this video kind of videos work I recommend transfering your files to the other drive and install a brand new operating system and then scan your files with legit anti malware softwares like Malwarebytes or in general Avast and then if they're safe keep them if they're not completely get rid of them hope this helps

For all those people who came here after installing pirated game ! Any of these methods won't work ! You have only 2 options clean install windows (which will delete all the files and installed apps). The second option is to in place upgrade ( which will replace the windows files only and all of your data and installed apps will be there) I went with the in place upgrade because i don't want to reinstall all my games and softwares. And it worked like a charm !

I will tell you all what to do
1)get internet approx 5gb,mobile data will work
2)restart your PC while pressing shift
3)reset windows through cloud download option while keeping data and files
Keep in mind apps will be deleted but not any drivers or plugins
So chill
4)after reset update your windows and uninstall any antivirus that came with PC at start
5)no need to go to registry file, cmd etc
Just do it and thank me later
6)if after this nothing work just restart PC and keep it updated
