Totally...That was brilliant. I have seen this on every old piece of construction equipment in existence. In fact the places where cable ends and steel ferrules clunk on the machine after being dropped by tired crew/workers gets more beat than if hit by weekly machine pistol fire!
"Let me know what you think...is it too much, is it not enough...?" when comparing it to other models....are you kidding???? This is fantastic!!! This is, after all, plastic. It doesn't look like plastic; it looks like a miniature version of the real thing. Like, its been hit with a ray gun that instantly shrinks things (Ant Man). If I could manage 1/100th of this detail on my kits, I'd be happy. This is incredible!!! I envision Uncle Night Shift's kits coming alive on his shelves at night, the crews (figures) meeting up to shoot the shit about war, COVID19, Martin's accent and other, less (important) elements of pop culture. Then staging mock battles (with self-propelled sound effects). You know, like the kind of thing that pets do when their masters are away from home!!! Well done, Uncle Night Shift. I thank you for these videos and the inspiring work you do... Cheers.
I'm 42, so when I was building models i usually made them look like the rolled out of the factory new. Watching the way you age the models is totally new way for me to tell a story of a vehicle by just looking at. Thank you for your time and techniques!
So I don’t understand how anyone gives your videos thumbs down, I don’t understand. Your stuff is seriously fantastic and you are so much fun to watch!
Of course I LOVE IT! -and then I saw something I had never seen before- a rust "shadow" left behind by missing tow cables.... 😮👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Awesome. Great work and 70 hours well spent
Well done, Martin, it is incredible you've spent over 70 hours just for chipping. That shows how dedicated you really are to making such wonderful masterpieces like the KG Fehrmann Tiger. Thanks for the video and stay safe.
I love the build, and its unique connection to history. I enjoy the models but it's the history that can be connected to the models is what makes this more of an art than a hobby in many cases.
I enjoy these videos not only for the modeling knowledge I gain, but also the manufacturing and service history of the vehicles in the real world. Thanks for posting!
You, sir, are a master of your craft. Which means you are also a pro and an artist, it takes someone who is both to pull off a beautiful model such as this one! Insane work, I'm very much looking forward to the next video.
Dude, it is so awesome seeing other model builders using VMS products. I'm hoping with more attention these guys will be able to expand to the point that they are as well known as MIG, AK, and Gunze.
Thank you for these kind of contents. Super amazing and meticulous in details. 👍👍 It's always a treat to watch your builds step by step 🙏 Greetings from Indonesia
You always apply just the right amount of chipping and rust tones; I struggle with this, because it's so easy to get carried away. Can't wait for the next episode. :)
Nice work, love it. From my knowledge and books I've read, Tiger 1s were first used in around February of 1943 in the Leningrad region, and the same year in Tunisia. So the gray is perfect, and yes the tank was in service for about 2 years, so you probably couldn't over weather it. Looks great to me.
Another great video. I envy your brushwork on those tiny chips. And, as always, your narration is enjoyable and your accent and English is entertaining. Thanks
Looking much more natural war machine with the chipping . Well worth the time spent . I think these tigers where from a training school if memory serves me so , they would be well worn and pretty greasy from crew use . Looking great . M
Excellent content as usual. I have decided to support you on Patreon now, it will be the first time I do that. But in my opinion you are worth it as your videos are the ones I wait for the most impatiently :)
Hi Martin … Congratulations on a great paint job .. Your patience for your chipping is really paying off... I have looked into building that tank and I too think it might have been gray except if it was really a gray tank when it first started out it should have the two round hole openings about the drivers port... So my thoughts are … I DON'T KNOW.. and decided to build something else .. :)
Ah yes, my favorite part of the week! Also, I dont think that 70 hours was enough, Uncle. Get your game up. Just kidding, you nailed it amazingly well.
I wish the video was 70 hours to have given me something more to do while coronachan is in effect. Looks awesome per usual uncle night shift. My hobby store is closed... little surprised there wasn’t more rust around some of the mounting bolts on the side plate armor.
Don't be intimidated to do models outside of your comfort zone. For "not doing axis armor" this is turning out to be a badass piece. If you *really* want to get out of your comfort zone, I'd love to see you tackle an aircraft. I think you would do a really good job.
I think it looks pretty good so far. Progressing steadily, Tiger will soon be done. Grat vid, thanks for sharing, and hope you and yours are doing all OK.
I learn a lot warching you. I will try to apply what I learnesd to model railroad. Tanks are not my passion. I will apreciate more informationbabput paints and tecnics. Continue this way. Thanks a lot
Loving this tiger! It's looking something special! That chipping was definitely worth the hours. Great work. Oh and good to see VMS being used in a video. I've been using it for ages and it's really good. Try their mud!
Wow, the cipping really fuses all the different parts together. Up until now, I felt that the cupola looked a bit out of place (as it is supposed to), but the weathering just makes it seem like it spent quite some time on this tank, even if it was almost factory new (at least compared to the rest of the tank).
“jeeeust right”
oh and damn, the rust shadow for the missing tow cable blew my mind
Pretty damn awesome detail there!! 'Night Shift' is one in a million.... incredible! :-)
The idea with the weathering for the tow cables was a really cool idea!
Totally...That was brilliant. I have seen this on every old piece of construction equipment in existence. In fact the places where cable ends and steel ferrules clunk on the machine after being dropped by tired crew/workers gets more beat than if hit by weekly machine pistol fire!
The rust under the tow cables was a great detail.

I love how you can bring such a sense of humor to this hobby. Thank you and nice job, the tank has come a long way
NEW NIGHTSHIFT BOOOOOOM!
The rust residue where the tow cable is missing is a stroke of genius, you magnificent bastard
I do like the idea of the rust under tools that are missing. Like the jack block and cable...makes the surface look busy yet still barren :)
The tow cable rust residue was a good touch imo

We Brits like chips with everything
As a fellow Brit I can agree, especially when served with Brexit
Happiness arrived :3
Oh, and yeah - whole paint job was beautiful from the beginning, its a pleasure to see something uncommon
Of course I LOVE IT! -and then I saw something I had never seen before- a rust "shadow" left behind by missing tow cables.... 😮👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Awesome. Great work and 70 hours well spent
I really like the idea of the rust where the missing tow cable would be! That's a great idea! Thanks for the tip :)
The tow cable detail is fantastic! Completely believable to see the rust from the steal cable staining the hull.
This isn't a model, he just smalled the original tank!!
Btw great video!! Haven't seen such a good model yet!!
man, your attention to detail is god-tier
The tow cable rust stain is a great idea even for models with the cable in place. Loads of great ideas for my next build.

The dedication is real. I think the rust stains from old missing tools is a neat idea.
i love the rust residue left by the tow cables, never thought of trying that..
70 Hours chipping....respect ! Stunning work and very inspiring to look at youre video’s..Keep them coming. Regards from Holland
I liked the idea of rust where the tow cables were.👍
You have so much more patience than I have. This is a real tank shrunk down to 1/35th scale, truly amazing
One of the best Tigers I ever saw, perfect work so far
You are a crazy man and easely one of the best model makers out there.
The rust shadow from the missing towing wires looks subtle and realistic.
Using the rust effect for the missing parts was a genius move.

That's one nasty veteran Tiger tank. Just right. Love it! 70 hours well spent.
wow the idea about the rust left after the tow cables is super cool, can´t wait to use it! thanks a lot!
Once again, another superb video, the rust effect where the tow cable was stored?!? Brilliant!
You saying "amigos" is now my favorite thing from this channel
That is just too perfect night shift. Hats off to you for the 70 hours.

Ooh reverse chipping paint! Looks pretty sweet on the wheels, like they've been pitted by gravel & small stones, then gone rusty. Noyce!!!
Once again, your dedication blows my mind! The model is really coming together at this point!
