    The “go to work, go to target, go to the gym, go home” was triggering 😂

    Another thing about hanging out in college... Normally it was in a safe, controlled environment if it was on-campus. Not too many people are looking to commit crimes and get kicked out of college if they're a college student, so you could party and hang out with people without worrying too much about getting mugged or acquiring a stalker/SAer.

      You are absolutely right! It was a much safer environment. That’s why it’s so important to be cautious and is use discernment where ever you go.

    Thank you, girl! Well-spoken, you're right. You do not meet people in your bedroom. However, sometimes it is hard to break old habits. I ❤ your kind suggestions

    Those are some great practical tips. Church and church events are also great places to make friends. My church mostly has people much younger or older than my age group so I have found church events that are specifically meant for young adults to be great places to make friends.

    Yes! Being open to social contact (looking around you, looking for eye contact or staying after meetings) and being able to initiate (like trying to start a conversation when someone asks for direction) is so important and totally something that introverted people ESPECIALLY need to think about.
    I'm introverted and had pretty bad social anxiety (I still have it, but I understand it better) and I had one of the worst experiences being isolated with no support during my first years at uni.
    That's because I think a lot of us introverted shy people are used to being "adopted" by extroverts or just being in a very small tight knit community (being in a class of like 30 students) from the get-go, so initiating and trying new things is not intuitive, not natural and most of the time very difficult.
    It's something that I've had to learn and now I actively think about what I can do to be more open.
    I am also neurodivergent, so when I tell you I'm very introverted you better believe it. Truly the more time I spend with people, especially if it's a group of people, the more I feel mentally exhausted. Going outside can also be a problem sometimes because the noises and the light can be overstimulating. But you know what, I still need those interactions! That's why I also try to be consistent with going to certain spaces, because if I can't stay for too long, then at least with time I'll have exposed myself enough that I'll be seen, one way or another.

      This was so insightful to read !!! It’s amazing how well you know yourself and can articulate the experiences of introverted people. & I’m glad you stay consistent with going to places and staying as long as your comfortable.

    I actually am struggling to make friends even while in nursing school. Thought I would find my forever besties lol. I have 2 more semesters and at my school you can change your schedule, for example if you started full time you can go to part time, and vice versa. I’ll be doing that so some of them people I started with I’d be graduating a semester before. Most of my friends I’ve met at work. Also want to say to any women don’t rely on just hanging out with your boyfriend. I used to be okay with just hanging out with this guy I used to talk to until he left and I was heart broken. Thankfully I had my friends pull me out that. I’m 21 so I know I have much life to live, but I feel this year will be different. I’ll get the girl group I need.

      Congratulations to being almost done with school! ✨🥂 And yes sometimes you’ll connect better with people at work than at school. But don’t worry to much you have so much time to make different experiences and meet new people especially post grad. Good luck with everything ❤️

    Maybe I’m weird but I don’t care about having friends. For years I had not friends and I got a job and naturally made friends and I’ve been told by my coworker I’m good at making friends. I think people gotta get comfortable being themselves by themselves and it will become easier to get along with people and friends will come naturally

    • @preciousoriakhi
      @preciousoriakhi  9 месяцев назад +1

      I don’t think that’s weird at all. I think that’s very true. A lot of things happen when you least expect it or more genuinely when they happen naturally, but I made this video for people who do want friends and a community, but don’t know how to go about it.
