When our 6 month old daughter was 2 weeks old and just at 7 lbs as she was born a month early she was given 20 mg of hydrochlorothiazide. She went into critical acidosis and was on the very thin line of death. Most full grown adults are started at 12.5 mg they almost killed her. She had to be intubated and spent 4 more months in the hospital leving at 5 months old on a Trach and ventilator. Although it's projected that she will come off the Trach at some point she has to have it now. They tried to cover it up at first but because I knew what happened from the begining and called them all out on it they went from saying she was losing muscle drive to breath to admitting that they overdosed her heavily on a diuretic. 1 nurse 1 doctor 6/7/8 neonates this is how mistakes happen.

Question; Once Certified as A Nurse Assistant how can that Certificate be used to travel as a CNA with that State a person took the training in But seeking to travel with their Certificate?

I would recommend to new nurses getting your phlebotomist cert from a community college (workforce development program. They have scholarships) while your taking your pre reqs or before that It’s only one month and this will help you when your in nursing school and when you become a nurse Also get your med aide or med tech cert (only 25 dollars to take the med tech if you have your CNA) so you have practice in nursing homes and LTC facilities passing meds and charting . You could also take the phlebotomist course after you become a nurse for more practice . I love your videos ❤️❤️❤️

I have 18 years in home care experience I can't believe I'm looking into getting my CNA I thought I have found my calling but maybe it's time to venture off into travel CNA . I swore I said I never would become a CNA I just didn't want to work in a facility ( nursing home) but I did for the first time this year. I have so much knowledge that I'm sure it be a cake walk for me and put my family in a better position I'm making 16.25 with 18 years of experience. Also my daughter's not even out of high school yet and already working in a facility and has her CNA. I told her about this.

Within 3 years of my lvn I paid off my car then used the car note amount on 10acre land purchase instead getting a new car. The land was 80k now 300k. Going back to RN. I work home health so I get to wear regular clothes and 2 pairs of scrubs and shoes. Perfect for me.

But you knew nursing was stressful when you decided to pursue a degree in nursing.

You start the video by mentioning the “luxury lifestyle” it seems like that was a poor choice of profession for that. Nurses clearly can make a lot of you become advanced practice but overall the pay is not that great compared to a good corporate job. Also, you won’t last if that is even the second reason you want to be a nurse

Nurses are extremely important even outside the hospital. Ever tried to talk to a primary care physician without an appointment?

Shit gets outdated before you know it. So why go broke keeping up with something that will be old before you know it?

Hey' do you need a high school diploma to obtain the emt certificate ? The emt School here in the bronx saying you dont need the diploma for the course or test... and private agencies only required the certificate ..... unless is a hospital or fdny

You're beautiful. You're right. Nursing has so many job opportunities. Impatient care, outpatient care, education, informatics, legal nursing, etc.FYI, if you don't like your current area of nursing, don't quit. Instead, change to another area of nursing. We need more nurses. Thank you

If I became a CNA for a year, but quit for a little while to work a different job, can you jump back into CNA work? Or would you need to get some kind of certification or take a test or something before?

Idk if this is a dumb question but what’s the difference between EMT/ EMS? do EMS go through the same schooling as EMTs?

Is there a length you need to be a CNA before traveling? And I’ve heard that on apps like Clipboard, you can take shifts that are urgently needed for $40-$60 or even $90/hour, but I’m curious how often that happens. I know on holidays the pay goes up, but how often every week will there be shifts like that that double in pay?
