When Stained Class came out we used to pile into the car for "cruises" listening to metal and we said at the time there will NEVER be anything better than that album. 🤘
I''ve seen Judas Priest live at least 15 times and the POE tour was my favorite... killer stage show - killer set list. I like POE easily as much as British Steel
What I love about Priest is they have such a varied catalogue. Even the weird left turns (Point of Entry, Turbo, Nostradamus) have gems. You could rank the albums in just about any order and I’ll agree with you.
I was visiting my Father in the summer of '90, he lives in Nevada, and I got to sit in on the Judas Priest trial, they played Better By You Better Than Me forwards and backwards, and they had Rob on the stand singing it as well, seeing The Metal God scream in a court room was kick ass.
@Shamdy Crook No I didn't know any of them, I was there for the summer visiting, I don't much care for the Reno area, I have tried to spot myself in that film, no luck.
My top ten : 1. Sad Wings 2. Sin after sin 3. Firepower 4. Screaming for vengeance 5. Defenders 6. Painkiller 7. Stained Class 8. British Steel 9. Killing machine 10. Redeemer A very strong discography!
I got into Priest, who are from my hometown of Birmingham, England, with "Unleashed In The East." I've seen them play live twice, and they are one of those bands you have to see live to truly appreciate. I still love that album a lot.
The DVD they did with Ripper Owens, "Live In London", is one of my favourite DVDs of all time. The way they filmed it, you feel as if you are actually onstage with the band, and there are no special effects or anything, just the guys all playing their asses off in front of a very enthusiastic crowd.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and wishing a speedy recovery for your father in law. Fantastic show as always. 1. Hell Bent for Leather 2. Screaming for Vengeance 3. Stained Class 4. British Steel 5. Sad Wings of Destiny 6. Sin After Sin 7. Defenders of the Faith 8. Painkiller 9. Firepower 10. Rocka Rolla
Sending well wishes Pete. My top 10 Priest picks and favorite cuts: 1. Defenders of the Faith (I picked this as #1 because I heard it all the way back in 1990, way before I heard any other songs by them, of the balance between the extreme metal and the hard rock styles it incorporates at different points throughout the album. Jawbreaker, Eat Me Alive, Freewheel Burning, The Sentinel, Love Bites, man even Some Heads Are Gonna Roll, my faaaaaaavorite song as a kid) 2. Screaming for Vengeance (The runner-up for me. Guitar work on this album is an 80s metal clinic. Never need to hear You've Got Another Thing Coming on the radio again, the rest of the album is gold. Take These Chains, Devil's Child, The Hellion/Electric Eye, Screaming for Vengeance, Riding On the Wind) 3. Painkiller (The revenge album after the PMRC era. The nightly news media had turned against the band, and the band fired back with a statement of an album. For my money, some of Rob Halford's best vocal performances ever. Includes my all-time favorite Judas Priest song A Touch of Evil, Painkiller, Leather Rebel, Metal Meltdown, All Guns Blazing) 4. Sad Wings of Destiny (Has one of their galloping early tracks Genocide, way up there for me, along with the no-brainer of a favorite Victim of Changes, Island of Domination, Dreamer Deceiver, love the track Tyrant, etc.) 5. British Steel (This used to rank higher but over time other albums eclipsed it. Living After Midnight I never need to hear on the radio again. United is in my Top 10 tracks by the band, other favorites include Metal Gods, Grinder, The Rage, and You Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise) 6. Firepower (One of my favorite sounding metal albums ever. Could rank even higher as time goes on. I could go on all day listing favorites from this one, for now I'll settle with Traitors Gate, Children of the Sun (SO catchy), Evil Never Dies, Flamethrower, Spectre, and the opener Firepower.) 7. Stained Class (Disclaimer: I haven't heard this album as much as others. It's probably better than 7th. They have a lot of great albums, and it just happened to make it here. Beyond the Realms of Death, Exciter, Invader, Better By You, Better Than Me) 8. Hell Bent for Leather (Good album in general, in my opinion no real high point or low point that overshadows anything on the album. Consistent front to back. Take On the World, Delivering the Goods, always enjoyed the title track Hell Bent for Leather, and Killing Machine) 9. Point of Entry (For Hot Rockin' alone this has to be in my top 10. Always dug Heading Out to the Highway. Troubleshooter is awesome. Solar Angels is a classic.) 10. Angel of Retribution (Very strong album by them. Angel is one of my favorites on here. Lochness, Worth Fighting For and Revolution are my other picks.)
Defenders of the Faith is probably my favorite. I love the last two songs together: Heavy Duty and Defenders of the Faith. That duo reminds me of my favorite one-two combination of songs: Heartbreaker/She's Just a Woman by Led Zeppelin. Strangely enough, my favorite Priest song is Rocka Rolla. Go figure.
I have always been a huge fan of Stained Class too, having grown up with the early LP's.. My Top 10-- 10. Firepower / Point Of Entry (Tie) 9. Defenders of the Faith 8. Painkiller 7. Rocka Rolla 6. Screaming For Vengeance 5. Hell Bent For Leather 4. Sad Wings Of Destiny 3. Sin After Sin 2. British Steel 1. Stained Class Thanks Pete.. Enjoy your shows!.
Sorry to hear about your Father-In-Law Pete, and I hope he gets well soon and All The Best to You and Your Family. My favourite Judas Priest album is British Steel hands down! Every Track is a Killer and Excellent! Saw them do this whole album live on the 30th Anniversary Tour of British Steel! I have British Steel on both 8-Track Tape Cartridge and CD! The 8-Track still plays well! I bought the CD so I do not wear out the 8-Track! Living After Midnight is my favourite Judas Priest song! I can listen to British Steel from beginning to the end with no issues and play it again a few more times! I never get bored or tired of it! It has to be their best selling album of all time! 👍🤘😎🎸🎸🥁🎙🎤🎼🎵🎶🎛🎛

Nostradamus is one of the greatest masterpieces ever cut if you can really dedicate the time to read along to each track which form a single story beautiful sung in almost an operatic style with orchestra like instrumental It's one of my all time favorite records
Saw JP last year with my 11 year old son. Uriah Heep opened. Unbelievable show. Rob Halford's voice is ridiculously good at any age... just an amazing show.
1. Screaming for Vengeance 2. British Steel 3. Point of Entry 4. Hell Bent for Leather 5. Defenders of the Faith 6. Stained Glass 7. Sad Wings of Destiny
Priest has been my favorite band for 35 years this year. We have the same top album. :) The album that has grown on me the most over the years is actually Point of entry. When Firepower came out I felt like a king. What a gift. Almost the same punch in the gut as Painkiller was so long ago. Love them!
So happy I found this channel. Probably gonna stay up late watching some of those videos. Im gonna rank Priest by band's era. Favorite 70's priest - Stained Class, favorite 80's Defenders of the Faith/British Steel, can't pick one between those two, favorite 90's Painkiller, and after Halford's come back - Firepower. Great channel man, keep it going.
'Stained Class' #1, YES! 'Hell Bent for Leather', 'Sad Wings....', and 'Sin After Sin' are all close seconds, but IMO 1982's 'Screaming for Vengence' was the last great Preist album for many years. From 1984 - 2005 I was not a buyer (with one exception), but still listened to the old stuff. I was glad to hear you say (for a time) you felt they were just trying to get too commercial - me too. Today I love the new stuff, but still not as much as 1974 - 1982. To give you some perspective, I graduated HS in 1980 (the year of 'British Steel'), and I did love and play the hell out of 'Point of Entry' the following year. I saw every tour between 1980 and 1990. Those concerts were soooo great. I recall a show in '88 where I was so jacked to hear them do 'Beyond the Realms of Death'. Great memories. Thanks Pete.
My first introduction to priest was stationed in Las Vegas early 80s and remember picking up the album British Steel what a great name for an album an awesome cover and great songs breaking the law living after midnight Metal Gods can't beat this one
very dark and thrashy album...I also liked it a lot, although I was kinda surprised to see that Halford wasn't the lead vocalist...but Tim Owens did a good job in this album...Demolition wasn't as good though, the second album they did with Owens...
I was blown away when Defenders came out. Being also in my teens at the time,it is just a killer album with not a bad track on it. The tour was amazing ! Twice !
My introduction to Judas Priest was through my boss when I was about 16 or 17. Interestingly, he played Turbo all the time and I liked it. My first Priest album was Priest...Live! which featured a number of Turbo songs, as well as several classics. So...I jumped right on Ram It Down when it came out...and my bubble burst. I ended up retro-filling my Priest collection and didn't follow them forward. Sometimes it's what you hear first that hooks you and even as you explore the catalog what you first heard remains interesting to you.
Painkiller is near the top for me. There's about 5-7 albums that in any order you can't go wrong ranking at or near the top. They really knocked it out of the park with Firepower. Amazing album and will be hard to top.
This brings back some memories I wish I could remember! Saw Judas Priest open for UFO in 1979 at the Paramount Theater in Seattle. Pete, you should have been there! Hell Bent For Leather! Lights Out! Hoping all is well with family.
My first concert was JP on Defenders tour when I was in the 10th grade! Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, with Great White opening, when GW had some great tunes, like "Down On Your Knees."
Funny story on Turbo. I was sixteen when I bought the cassette in '86. My football team was working a fundraiser at our ballpark over the summer and the DJ took a break and told me to play some tunes while he was out. Of course I run over to my car, grab my cassette, and absolutely BLAST it on the stadium PA system!! My buddies and I rocked it out for most of the album. To this day I love this album....can still here Locked In and Turbo Lover echoing downtown! 😆
I love Point of Entry. It's one of the very few albums that I can listen to right through without skipping a track. On the Screaming for Vengeance tour, they opened the show with Solar Angels and it just blew the audience away.
I'd have a hard time ranking Priest, but like you, I don't have the Ripper albums because they're so hard to find. I do really like Nostradamus, but perhaps for different reasons than others. I bought it when it came out (my first Priest album bought on release date), and inside the album came a voucher for a free lawn ticket to any show on the then current tour, while supplies lasted. I immediately went to the family computer and redeemed my ticket, with the knowledge that I had no way of driving to the show--parents would never have let me drive the car to the city. Eventually found a friend who also redeemed a free ticket (and also had his own car). This was the Testament/Motorhead/Heaven And Hell/Priest tour of 2008. One of the best shows I've ever been to, and it was free. And that's why I like Nostradamus so much.
Can't go wrong with any early Judas Priest albums really. Love them all. British Steel being my favorite album and Victim of Changes my favorite song. I would rank Point of Entry and Ram it Down a little higher also. Best metal band ever.
A special shout-out to the title track from "Stained Class". The album itself is also my favorite JP album, but it seems like the title track doesn't often get the attention I feel it deserves. Blisteringly fierce, with some of Halford's best lyrics ever.
I've never understood why they never play the song Stained Class live. It's one of their most important songs and lyrically like you state is of their best ever. I can only speculate Rob cannot sing in that high register anymore. But then why don't they just tune down or maybe they did and the vocals fall flat like many bands realise so they probably left it off for good reason, who knows?
@@rushshukla4636 I'm thinking that one of the reasons they choose not to play it live is that is indeed the difficulty of pulling off the vocals. Besides the challenge of the very high register, they are also very densely packed in parts. Nonetheless, Halford did play this song live with his band "Halford" back around 2001. Here's a link to a fantastic version they did back then, in case you have not discovered this yet. ruclips.net/video/6ylZ7CIB6cQ/видео.html
@@dougcarson5202 Excellent stuff. Yeah thanks for the link I really enjoyed that! Stained Class is probably my fave Priest song although there's so many. I've seen them also do Jawbreaker if you can find it. But yeah Rob's 70 now and needs a teleprompter which is why he's always walking around the stage with his head down. They should call it a day tbh, I think they're in danger of destroying their legacy coz it's just a cabaret act now with neither KK or Glenn present.
So pleased you made Stained Class your top, it’s mine too. And I have the absolute privilege of playing most of those songs live with the drummer on the album in Les Binks’ Priesthood.
Stained Class will always be my favorite from a music perspective, but the cover art of Sin After Sin and Screaming For Vengeance both blow me away. That eagle has missiles!
I'll just throw my top 7 out there: 1. Sin After Sin 2. Sad Wings of Destiny 3. Firepower 4. Screaming for Vengeance 5. Stained Class 6. Hell Bent for Leather 7. British Steel
Over the past few days I've been listening to my Priest collection again. I've got a change to my ranking: Stained Class is now #1...rest of the line up remains the same!
Hey,Pete! Been really enjoying your channel awhile and just sub'd,at last😃 Love your reviews and retrospectives. They are so raw, honest and low key. Just awesome! And I'm totally on board with almost all of them🤘 Well,I also have a request: I'm a big fan of german heavy/prog-act ELOY. Their catalogue are a little hit and miss, but they've got som good efforts. Would dig if you could do a retro-/review of them! Rock on, and keep them great videos going🤘 Hails from Morten, Norway.
Great video. I wish your father-in-law all the best in his recovery. My top three is actually the same, which was quite an interesting coincidence. Stained Class will always be my #1, that's some great stuff there. Depending on the day, I might put Sin After Sin and Sad Wings into any order, but they both remain in top three. There's such legendary songs on those, just gets me every time. Awesome trio! My next favorite is Defenders of the Faith, that's also such a powerful album. Killing Machine comes fifth, followed by Painkiller and Screaming for Vengeance. As much as I love British Steel, it drops to eigth place since it's quite overplayed. Angel of Retribution is one of the best comeback albums of all-time and Firepower shows the band still going strong. Those two fill my top ten.
One of my top 5 bands ever! Really hard to rank, so many incredible and equivalent albums. Anyway, TODAY this is may list: 1. Screaming for vengeance 2. Defenders of the faith 3. British steel 4. Painkiller 5. Stained class 6. Sad wing of destiny 7. Hell bent fot leather 8. Firepower 9. Sin after sin 10. Rocka rolla 11. Turbo 12. Nostradamus 13. Ram it down 14. Point of entry 15. Demolition 16. Angel of retribution 17. Redeemer of souls 18. Jugulator METAL GODS!!!!!!!
I actually really love Nostradamus. I appreciate Judas Priest jumping out of their comfort zone and doing a very admirable job with the concept theme. It isn’t easy, but they did well.
Even tho not on the same level with Operation Mindcrime, SSOSS or the Wall it still is a very good concept album with its flaws so typical for bands that have not more experience with making such a concept album
The first Priest album I had was Defenders lf the Faith. Absoloutely loved it! I had the same reaction with Turbo and Ram it Down lol. Thanks for the list! Im checkin the others out for sure! Stay safe!
Best wishes for your family. Great list, here is my rankings : 1 - Painkiller 2 - Stained Class 3 - Defenders Of The Faith 4 - Sad Wings Of Destiny 5 - Sin After Sin 6 - Screaming For Vengeance 7 - Hellbent For Leather 8 - Firepower 9 - British Steel 10 - Point Of Entry 11 - Angel Of Retribution 12 - Redeemer Of Souls 13 - Ram It Down 14 - Rocka Rolla 15 - Turbo 16 - Nostradamus 17 - Jugulator 18 - Demolition
During their golden age of commercial success (1980-1986, I think), their early studio albums were a little bit forgotten. But then, with the pass of time, albums like Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin after Sin, Stained Class, Killing Machine became cult classics of Heavy Metal and rock history. I love British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance, Defenders of the Faith (this one is my favorite from this period, probably underrated), but the other albums I mentioned before are just from another world. Complete and undeniable masterpieces. I wish they could bring way more attention to their classics from this albums while touring. I know many people that after discovering the early Priest, they said that was their best time.
Like you Pete , I drifted in the mid 90's away from modern metal and grunge but just listened to back catalogue. My top Priest, well today! 1. Stained Class 2. Sad Wings 3. Killing Machine 4. Screaming 5. Sin After Sin 6. British Steel 7. Firepower 8. Point of Entry 9. Defenders 10. Painkiller 11. Turbo 12. Angel 13. Rocka Rolla 14. Nostradamus 15. Ram It Down 16. Redeemer
I agree. I dont understand why they didn't choose that song to make a music video for. Instead they choose one of the weakest songs on the album for the music video. The best track on Ram it Down for me is Blood Red Skies and the worst track on this album is Monsters of Rock
If the whole album was as good as Blood Red Skies, Ram it Down, and Hard as Iron, it could probably be my favorite album. Those songs are just amazing, with Blood Red Skies at the very top of the trio.
Marc Luther - I agree. I had a really hard time finding it as a teenager, whereas the other records, starting with Sad Wings, were readily available. I still meet Priest fans who have never heard of SC, which is odd at this point in time, but maybe the distribution was lacking or something when it was released. It deserves to be heard, as it’s easily one of the best metal albums ever made.
I am a Defenders man, through and through. But, I also admit personal bias there as it was such a big album for me as a teenager and I have a slew of great memories connected to it. Music is truly a powerful thing. Glad to see someone enjoy it as much as I do. Great ranking video!
Its got a jumpy song that has a bit of a punk feel. You Say Yes ...and I say NO. I Dig That tune. I love the whole album! Shamefully underrated! Don't go might be the weakest song on it.... And I think that's a good tune.
Hell Bent For Leather is my special Priest album, it came along about four years into my guitar playing development, just starting to play professionally and would play along with that album all the time. Long Live the Priest the kings of metal.
My list: Painkiller Sad Wings Screaming for Vengeance Stained Class Hell Bent for Leather Defenders of the Faith Sin After Sin British Steel Firepower Angel of Retribution Turbo Rocka Rolla Point of Entry Redeemer of Souls Ram It Down Jugulator Nostradamus Demolition On a side note, I remember that for the longest time, Best Buy could not sell the big LP boxset of Nostradamus even at a discount. Ditto for the Queen/Paul Rogers album. It also seemed to be the only new records they had in the late 2000's for some bizarre reason.
Uncanny just *how close* my list is to yours. I'm talking flip flopping, literally three spots: Sad Wings for Sin, British Steel for Killing Machine, and Rocka Rolla for Redeemer. Wild. Obviously, Pete...great job lol lol
Pete, I really wish your father in law a full recovery soon. Familiar issues are really tough when health is concerned. Thank you for your ranking. As always, I enjoyed a lot because I am a diehard fan of Priest. Saw them on tour for the first time back in 1986, on the "Fuel for Life" tour and since then I've seen them live many times, even with Ripper Owens on vocals. Judas Priest has put so much happiness in my life that I could never thank them enough in my whole life. Here is my top ten. 1. Defenders of the Faith 2. British Steel 3. Sad Wings of Destiny 4. Painkiller 5. Screaming for Vengeance 6. Sin After Sin 7. Killing Machine 8. Stained Class 9. Turbo 10. Firepower Please, rank Ozzy Osborne discography. Last album is absolutely awesome for me. Gretings from Spain.
Good video SoT. I agree that 'Stained Class' deserves a No:1 ranking. Favorite JP song on the album? Can't separate them....it's a trilogy of 'Saints in Hell, 'Savage' and 'Beyond the Realms'...Priest at the top of their game.... Agree with a previous comment that the album you hear first of a band tends to be your favorite. First song I heard was Burnin Up' and that was it....I would rate 'Killing Machine' as my no: 2 then 'Sad Wings'....Brilliant.
Cool vid Pete. Great list of Preist CDs. British Steel has always being my fav simply because that was the first priest record i brought. Loved it. Can you do a fav KISS studio albums list including the the Solo albums and the two Alive records. Hope your father in law gets well soon.
Great video Pete. Honestly I don't have enough knowledge about the priest discography to give a proper ranking but at the moment my top 3 would be: Stained Class Screaming for Vengeance Painkiller
I havent heard many of these albums in full, but with what I've heard so far I'm gonna rank them like this 1. Painkiller 2. Firepower 3. Screaming for vengeance 4. Sad wings of destiny 5. Stained class 6. Defenders of the faith 7. Jugulator
@@benedictdonald4338 in my opinion, yeah it is. My list has changed slightly so Screaming for vengeance and Firepower are swapped. Remember that I havent listened to a good portion of their albums and havent been into them or metal all that long.
@@carterweaver5748 More than just a good album. It is unbelievable guys written songs like these ones at this high age. So inspired (okay with the exception of Flame-throwaaaa and childish Necromancer - it is soooo Halford I must laugh, but still enjoyable) and with matured and probably the best lyrics since Stained Class. Still after 4 yrs I am amazed by this album.
Wow, for the most part, I thought you were in my head. I've always been a huge Priest fan, but when Halford left, I never got fully engaged. Screamin was my 2nd concert ever, and I remember it like it was yesterday. I was going through old ticket stubs, and realized I saw them on the Turbo tour. I guess that tells you how memorable that was. I missed Defenders of the faith because I didn't hear about it until the day after. I could get on board with your rankings overall, but I would probably move Point of Entry up a little. I've only heard a couple of tracks off of Firepower, but I like what I've heard. I need to check their last 2 out based on what you said. Your taste and mine seem to line up well.
"Sad Wings of Destiny" will always remain number one for me. The material is so hypnotic and mesmerizing. Truly groundbreaking record.
mine too.
If marooned on an island and I had 5 albums to choose Sad Wings is there.
Totally agree with you man! SWOD is the best! Hands down!
Agreed 100%
It's timeless! The production and sound quality is beyond amazing. Their signature album, a true masterpiece #1 hands down.
The best to your Father in law PETE. Most importantly!

were you right or wrong cough Screaming , Defenders, Point of Entry, British Steel? were you right or wrong cough?
Mark Santucci - He was right.
He was and is still right! The greatest HM ballad ever composed came from that classic piece of vinyl!!
Marc Luther - Les Binks was the man!!
Then "Defenders Of The Faith" came out.
Sad Wings Of Destiny has always been my number one, and actually is one of my favorite albums of all time, a timeless masterpiece!
I love Point Of Entry. Not in style of other Priest albums but still really fun!
I was a little surprised it wasn't a little higher. Love Solar Angels
I''ve seen Judas Priest live at least 15 times and the POE tour was my favorite... killer stage show - killer set list. I like POE easily as much as British Steel

I can't list the albums because it's Judas Priest and all of their albums are number 1 to me.

Sending well wishes Pete. My top 10 Priest picks and favorite cuts:
1. Defenders of the Faith (I picked this as #1 because I heard it all the way back in 1990, way before I heard any other songs by them, of the balance between the extreme metal and the hard rock styles it incorporates at different points throughout the album. Jawbreaker, Eat Me Alive, Freewheel Burning, The Sentinel, Love Bites, man even Some Heads Are Gonna Roll, my faaaaaaavorite song as a kid)
2. Screaming for Vengeance (The runner-up for me. Guitar work on this album is an 80s metal clinic. Never need to hear You've Got Another Thing Coming on the radio again, the rest of the album is gold. Take These Chains, Devil's Child, The Hellion/Electric Eye, Screaming for Vengeance, Riding On the Wind)
3. Painkiller (The revenge album after the PMRC era. The nightly news media had turned against the band, and the band fired back with a statement of an album. For my money, some of Rob Halford's best vocal performances ever. Includes my all-time favorite Judas Priest song A Touch of Evil, Painkiller, Leather Rebel, Metal Meltdown, All Guns Blazing)
4. Sad Wings of Destiny (Has one of their galloping early tracks Genocide, way up there for me, along with the no-brainer of a favorite Victim of Changes, Island of Domination, Dreamer Deceiver, love the track Tyrant, etc.)
5. British Steel (This used to rank higher but over time other albums eclipsed it. Living After Midnight I never need to hear on the radio again. United is in my Top 10 tracks by the band, other favorites include Metal Gods, Grinder, The Rage, and You Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise)
6. Firepower (One of my favorite sounding metal albums ever. Could rank even higher as time goes on. I could go on all day listing favorites from this one, for now I'll settle with Traitors Gate, Children of the Sun (SO catchy), Evil Never Dies, Flamethrower, Spectre, and the opener Firepower.)
7. Stained Class (Disclaimer: I haven't heard this album as much as others. It's probably better than 7th. They have a lot of great albums, and it just happened to make it here. Beyond the Realms of Death, Exciter, Invader, Better By You, Better Than Me)
8. Hell Bent for Leather (Good album in general, in my opinion no real high point or low point that overshadows anything on the album. Consistent front to back. Take On the World, Delivering the Goods, always enjoyed the title track Hell Bent for Leather, and Killing Machine)
9. Point of Entry (For Hot Rockin' alone this has to be in my top 10. Always dug Heading Out to the Highway. Troubleshooter is awesome. Solar Angels is a classic.)
My Top 10--

Spot on, Pete.
And well wishes to your FIL and family.
Prayers for your Father in law Pete. And for your whole family. Great list today!
Not a studio LP of course, but "Unleashed in the East" was insanely good - the vibe, production and intensity of the songs are killer!
🤘🏼 *Their best!* 🤘🏼
Nostradamus is one of the greatest masterpieces ever cut if you can really dedicate the time to read along to each track which form a single story beautiful sung in almost an operatic style with orchestra like instrumental It's one of my all time favorite records

I totally love Turbo. My first concert. Yep the heavy metal parking lot Maryland show.
I saw Priest on their 30th Anniversary British Steel tour. KK gave me the sign of the horns and a head nod. I was 17 and it BLEW my mind.
Thanks for your video's, I really enjoy them.
Saw JP last year with my 11 year old son. Uriah Heep opened. Unbelievable show. Rob Halford's voice is ridiculously good at any age... just an amazing show.
Thank you for your rockin ranking of JP Priest. Prayers for your father in law.🎤🎸🎵🥁
These rankings are great! Keep up the good work.
Love them!
Yeah Im a 70s Judas Priest person to. I agree with your list.
Me too. We are up against alot of thrashers! Yuck! Let Slayer or Whoever do that.
@@rangerrick222 70's Priest is best but how do you not like Thrash if you like Metal?
My most favourite Heavy Metal band and a big influence. Priest forever \m/
Welcome. Glad to have you with us brother!
Jugulator is my favourite Priest album. Ripper was fantastic and the songwriting was brilliant. Cathedral Spires is truly epic. And HEAVY!
@@JCStorm76 An unpopular opinion I know, but for me that's the case.
very dark and thrashy album...I also liked it a lot, although I was kinda surprised to see that Halford wasn't the lead vocalist...but Tim Owens did a good job in this album...Demolition wasn't as good though, the second album they did with Owens...
Thanks for the video! You made me start listening more Judas Priest. It became my favourite band.
All the best Pete my prayers go out to you and your family.
I was blown away when Defenders came out. Being also in my teens at the time,it is just a killer album with not a bad track on it. The tour was amazing ! Twice !
Not a bad track?? C'mon man, the second half of that album isn't as strong as the first and definitely has filler.
Yes 👏 i expected something weak , like turbo , but no , came that album its top 3 formidable album
@@spice_krispiesexactly, people are fans 🤷
Yes! On my way back from work I wondered wether you will do Priest.
Wishing a speedy recovery for your father in law. And all the best for you and your family.
Completely agree with Painkiller
This brings back some memories I wish I could remember! Saw Judas Priest open for UFO in 1979 at the Paramount Theater in Seattle. Pete, you should have been there! Hell Bent For Leather! Lights Out! Hoping all is well with family.
My first concert was JP on Defenders tour when I was in the 10th grade! Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, with Great White opening, when GW had some great tunes, like "Down On Your Knees."
Priest and AC/DC are my two favorite bands...Great review here...
I was 16 in 1986 And that is absolutely the best heavy metal story I've ever heard!!!!!!
Thanks for the vid!
Sin after sin is my #1 followed closely by Stained class and Hell-bent for leather.
So glad i found your page 👍😊
I love Point of Entry. It's one of the very few albums that I can listen to right through without skipping a track. On the Screaming for Vengeance tour, they opened the show with Solar Angels and it just blew the audience away.
Great list! After mostly! Blessings for your father in law!🎸🎸🎸
Thanks for the video love the early priest.
Hope your father in-law gets well soon
Family is always first...Aloha all the best..
Heroes end is also very underrated
Waited this video for ages ❤️
So pleased you made Stained Class your top, it’s mine too. And I have the absolute privilege of playing most of those songs live with the drummer on the album in Les Binks’ Priesthood.
Stained Class will always be my favorite from a music perspective, but the cover art of Sin After Sin and Screaming For Vengeance both blow me away. That eagle has missiles!
I'll just throw my top 7 out there:
1. Sin After Sin
2. Sad Wings of Destiny
3. Firepower
4. Screaming for Vengeance
5. Stained Class
6. Hell Bent for Leather
7. British Steel
Over the past few days I've been listening to my Priest collection again. I've got a change to my ranking:
Stained Class is now #1...rest of the line up remains the same!

I actually really love Nostradamus. I appreciate Judas Priest jumping out of their comfort zone and doing a very admirable job with the concept theme. It isn’t easy, but they did well.
Nostrodamus for me is a GREAT album. Its definitely an album for if youre in the mood for epic rather than jams. Like The Oath by Kiss
Even tho not on the same level with Operation Mindcrime, SSOSS or the Wall it still is a very good concept album with its flaws so typical for bands that have not more experience with making such a concept album
Boring, not just out of their comfort zone, but out of their league.

I know many people that after discovering the early Priest, they said that was their best time.
..as I have tried to point out here. Bravo! Well done!
Totally agree.
Stained Class was my introduction to Priest when I was 13. Wowwww, Exciter was Heavy and Speed...and I still love it.

" Blood Red Skies" from Ram it Down album (1988), is a Great, Great song!!
Best tune on that album, hands down!
I agree. I dont understand why they didn't choose that song to make a music video for. Instead they choose one of the weakest songs on the album for the music video. The best track on Ram it Down for me is Blood Red Skies and the worst track on this album is Monsters of Rock
@@oliverqueen9886 - Dead nuts on the money.
If the whole album was as good as Blood Red Skies, Ram it Down, and Hard as Iron, it could probably be my favorite album. Those songs are just amazing, with Blood Red Skies at the very top of the trio.
@@oliverqueen9886 monsters of rock...hmm. i really don't dislike this track!
Absolutely my favorite Priest platter is “Stained Class”.
100% agreed. Their 70s output was leagues better than anything else they ever released.
Point of Entry is essentially a hard rock album, not really metal. And you know what? I freakin' LOVE it!!!!

Good video SoT. I agree that 'Stained Class' deserves a No:1 ranking. Favorite JP song on the album? Can't separate them....it's a trilogy of 'Saints in Hell, 'Savage' and 'Beyond the Realms'...Priest at the top of their game....
