I'm so happy it's done, my first storyboard. I had the idea to do this storyboard 8 months ago.

Story:
Riki, a Siberian Husky and Lead sled dog is lost in the middle of a blizzard. Until Aniu, a lonely white she-wolf rescues him and shelters him in her cave. At dawn, she guides him back to the city.
They create affections for each other and begin to meet frequently in the forest. But when Riki's friends find out they get mad, because a wolf and a husky can't be together. Then the Riki revolts and falls to escape to the forest to live with Aniu.
They have a son, Balto. In one afternoon a hunter appears, and when Riki goes to defend his family he ends up being shot and dies.
Aniu realizes that she wouldn't be able to take care of Balto alone. She believes that Balto would gain the same fate as her father for being confused with a wild animal. So she made the most difficult decision of her life, leave Balto with the humans.
And she runs away but finds a hunter. Now, Aniu protects and guides Balto in the spirit form.

Aleu takes after her grandparents! She inherited the fur color, eyes, and markings from Riki and the wolf qualities from Aniu.

This is such a beautiful story! I really wish they'd make a prequel about Balto's mom and Father..and should use this as an inspiration.
Even better they should do a live action remake of balto

Fun Fact: Simon Wells stated that Balto's wolf side came from his father and his mom was a sled dog however they decided to change that in the film because Phil Weinsteins never saw the first movie

This is so emotional. Can't believe that Balto lost his parents like this. If it only could be revealed in the Balto 4 then I would be happy but I am not sure if Balto 4 will ever happen in the future but if it could happen then this must be added for example, this same story told by Balto to his son Yukon or Kodiak.
balto wouldn't be able to tell the story because he even said all he remembered about his mother was her beautiful white fur (I'm sorry if I got that wrong I haven't watched the movies in a long time)

Knowing his parents I can see why Balto is who he is. Goes to show things happen for a reason. If Balto wasn't around more folks would've died in Nome. And no telling what would have happened to Steele and his team. Blessings
Remember: this isn't actually canon. This is fanon. Balto's father was actually entirely unnamed in canon. As for Aniu she wasn't well known either as the creators of Balto didn't dub her or Balto's father important enough to give a story.
If his parents were killed by hunters, especially in front of him he'd have less of a reason to live among humans (let alone help them with the serum run)

Poor Balto!😭😭😭😭😭 His father sacrificed for him and Aniu, and his father was killed by hunters, and his mother (Aniu) left him in a box and killed herself in front of his eyes. The hunter shot her more precisely, and she wanted to kill herself because of his father!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I think Balto’s mom never wanted him to suffer and I guess she wanted him live a better life and be happy believing that he deserved better

2:09 Don't blame yourself, Aniu. He decided to live with you, independently from the consequences, because he loved you. This is never a mistake.
This was kind of emotional for me but I still loved it. It's unfortunate that Balto lost his parents like this, and at such a young age. Poor boy but it's great that he's happy with the life he has now.

Aniu understod than Balto couldn't grow up with her because she was a white wolf, a very coveted prey. The hunters would have continue to look for a exemplary like her. The others wolves would never have accept to adopt Balto, because he is a half husky. The only way for make Balto grow up safe was leave him like a cub for adopting

This is awesome! I always loved Balto's mom. She was so mysterious being all white with only her eyes to reveal she was there. I never thought of his dad tho. But amazing you made this. They both look wonderful!
Indeed. One of my personal favorite moments in this short has to be when Riki decided "I won't put up with this.", and ditched his collar on the way out.
Giving up a life in relative safety, prosperity and comfort for love. I don't think anyone really gives people like that enough credit _or_ compassion.

I just found this, and as a balto fans i curoius how come i never found this vid, i always looking for something that related to Balto Movies. But yet i found this just now. Well, better late then never.
Now, shall i share this so everyone could enjoy it aswell.
I would love to see a Balto prequel movie with Balto as a baby and his mother Aniu when she was still alive and how she died it's possible she died in a terrible accident or something while Puppy Balto had gotten separated from her.

This is just too beautiful and moving, I love how Balto’s dad left his domestic life for Aniu, he really did love her and him dying makes it even more sad and puppy Balto is beyond cute. Aniu of course looks beautiful as always here too. the emotions shown here are flawless and I love the song used too.

I myself use IbisPaint X if you're on mobile. My guess is this was made on a computer. There are many programs for that.

This was BEAUTIFULLY written, but it would've been a better ending if she came down, at the scene of balto where the white wolf howls to him, and he howls with the white wolf. Signifying Time is irrelevant where she is, but she was always there to remind him who he is, and to be proud. Besides that WELLDONE

The true story is the Togo was the one that got the anti-toxin the farthest. Balto was a purebred husky who was neutered and thought 'not as worth it' by his breeder-owner compared to Togo.
