  • The SG Junior was introduced by Gibson in 1961 and was called the Les Paul until 1963. The model then received its final name, and was a student model due to its single P90 and simple construction. Due to its raw and direct character, the SG Junior quickly acquired the image of a no-nonsense rock 'n' roll beast, and this example from 1968 is of course no exception.
With a thin and gracefully rounded mahogany body, the SG Junior has a slim appearance, but the particularly thick mahogany neck still gives the guitar a robust playing feel. The profile is particularly comfortable and ensures that you just keep playing on this SG! The short scale length of 24.75 inches feels familiar, as does the fingerboard radius of 12 inches, just as you would expect from a Gibson.
