Eagles doubling down on cb is something I'd never though I'd see and I love it
Good chance he plays safety if he balls out
I wish I was a fan back in 2002 when we drafted 3 dbs and my all time favorite RB.

this eagles draft has definitely been influenced by Fangio being the DC. Their top 3 picks are all Fangio players. Two fast defensive backs that can tackle and a Defensive pass rusher that can drop into coverage
Last time we drafted 2 CBs was Sheppard and Brown, and we know how that worked out
Excited for Mitchell and Dejean
Favorite draft through two rounds is tge eagles. Getting Quinyon AND dejean is absurd, potentially back to back elite DB's

The things that bug you about DeJean the defense in this video are the same things that bugged us all about the Eagles defense last year... starting 15 yards off, stopping the threat over top, leaving the underneath throws wide open, etc. Doesn't leave me feeling great that the coaches are going to change those tendencies. Hopefully they can figure it out. Glad we got two good corners though!
The eagles will run zone quarters defense. Fast linebackers is the key to those underneath throws. If you have good linebackers this defense works.
I was NOT a fan of this pick at first. Now that I have had time to sleep on it and think about the future of our defense and secondary I have warmed up to it considerably! To the point that I’m PUMPED now. My only worry is that by the time he is a full fledged starter our window to win a chip will be closed/closing. I just hope he can make an immediate impact in some form or fashion!
I really think he can be a full time starter this year at slot or saftey and next year I see him as a starter outside. He’s literally my favourite player of this draft. I really think howie got 2 back to back studs here.

I see him in more of a safety or slot corner role. Don't think he can keep up with outside WRs in the NFL. Regardless, great tackler for a team who sucked at tackling last season!
Youre high he's a Sheldon Brown with more athleticism.
Title says its a great move but if its anything like the Quinyon video he is about to rip up DeJeans game. And even say some crazy shit like 'he played alot of off zone, so there is probably going to be an adjustment period". Whild completely ignoring its a Fangio defense and is going to be playing off zone very often. Smfh....

Cooper dejean is not playing outside corner on the eagles that’s why he said himself they talk to him about all 3 positions and he played safety when he first arrived at Iowa. He needs to play safety but in a very similar role to Malcolm Jenkins he can’t stay with elite nfl receivers on the outside doesn’t appear his feet are fast enough either. But solid pick I would have preferred edgerrin cooper but if you have dejean higher take him instead.
Imo it would be foolish not to at least experiment with him at outside corner. Like cowboys having Micah play edge

How does the best DB in the entire draft go to Philly at number 40? Bruh, I watched college football my entire life and this dude is one of the top-5 corners I've EVER seen come out of the drat. My motha f'in Cowboys pass on this dude so he can go to them bums in Philly? Like really bruh?

@@godiegolems oh id be ecstatic if they were Troy n Bobby, or even Lito n Sheldon, while not as good, they were still pretty solid...hell I'd take Slay and Bradberry of 2022
But I dont think the plan is for Cooper to play the other outside corner. I dunno if they want him at S or nickel, but I think the eventual outside corners are Mitchell and Ringo, while 3rd and 4th CB will be some combination of Hall, Maddox McPhereson, and maybe DeJean/CJGJ sliding down from S to disguise coverages. While the back ups at the outside CBs will be Rodgers (since they dont see him as a slot guy), Ricks, and maybe Josiah Scott. And then we have a combination of Sydney Brown, Cooper DeJean, CJGJ, and Blankenship at the S spot.
The big problem going forward is that we have too many DBs to keep all them, along with Slay and Bradbury. And its a damn shame because that is a TON of talent and I am loathe to cut any of these guys.
@@williamblackfyre4866 Fr man. I was 7 when I became an Eagles fan, watching that secondary with Vincent, Taylor, and my all time favorite BDawk was a huge part of why I'm still die hard today.
