Thank you! I recently came across the tweet on Tumblr and I Googled the phrase and found och aye the noo so it actually makes perfect sense. I think it's brilliant that you got to meet him. Cheers.
Sorry this might be long. Phantom of The Opera was touring in Edinburgh at this time. In Scotland we have our sort of slang words and phrases. One of them is "och aye the noo" which means "Oh yes just now". John tweeted that he has came up with a funny saying ("Och Aye The Noose"). In Phantom there is a scene with a noose (the rope people get hanged with). John thought it was funny as it mixed phantom&scotland (if that makes sense) so when we went to meet him we thought we'd ask him to say it :)

I won't deny this is cool but I don't understand what is the significance/meaning of the phrase?
