Mitchell began her career as a model and traveled the world. After her return to Toronto, she took acting lessons. She also had a guest role in the series Rookie Blue. She also starred in the video for the song Hold My Hand by Sean Paul. In the same year, she landed the role of Emily Fields in Pretty Little Liars.
