Inside Troian Bellisario & Patrick J. Adams’s Eclectic L.A. Home | Open Door | Architectural Digest

- Today AD is welcomed by Troian Bellisario and Patrick J. Adams for a tour of their 1924 Spanish Colonial Revival home in Los Angeles. Designed by one of the lions of the golden age of California architecture, Wallace Neff, its white stucco exterior, colorfully tiled main staircase, and wrought-iron details are all calling cards of his numerous Spanish-influenced homes. The actors and homeowners-Adams is best known for his role on Suits in which he played Meghan Markle’s character’s love interest, while Bellisario starred on the popular teen drama Pretty Little Liars -fell in love with the residence while in the midst of planning their 2016 wedding and moved in right after their honeymoon, embarking on renovations a few years later with designer Rosa Beltran. “The goal was to make it feel how Neff and the team of artisans who had worked on the home in the beginning would have wanted it to feel, and also to make it really comfortable and useful for a modern-day family,” says Beltran.

I LOVE how despite the size of the house, and being a celebs house, it feels very cozy and warm and has character. It looks extremely homey, and gives off perfectly happy family vibes. Troian and Patrick look like one of those celeb couples that will last forever, they seem very humble and down to Earth, they were only showing off art made by themselves or their friends, or their kids but nothing extravagant to show off their wealth or anything. It didn’t feel much like a celeb house tour at all, and I think they’re probably great hosts by the way they keep saying they want their guests/friends to feel relaxed and inspired and cozy etc. Very lovely. And i’m in love with their design aesthetics.

@iHaveAHuugeAss yes they are able to be moved. There are many trees that can be replanted. The olive tree in particular does not have large roots so it makes it easier or better to move. The process of moving it is called uprooting .

This is one of the very best home tours I've seen on this channel. Why? Because it looks like real people live there, not a designer. Love the realness of the inky "art" on the couch cushions. Beautiful home architecturally and decoratively.

With the way he talks about the house you can see that he loves creating this space for them and the way she looks at him and their kids and their dog and the space they go through, you can see that she is just aloving person. They're so open in communicating with each other. I don't feel that they're talking over each other to dominate a conversation. Its like two people just excited about something, together. It's actually so cool they have those older photos of their home in an AD book like not everyone can say they have that. Anyway I love the ceilings on this house it's so open, it's a lot, but it's so cute.

After watching Troian Bellisario on PLL for years I expected nothing less from her family home. It's inviting and homely, a beautiful space overall.
As a designer, I really connected with this House, such beautiful design language throughout and very harmonious. You can tell how much love and effort they poured into to make it their own. A house like this seems like a reflection of them as a couple who seem so warm and inviting. loveee this one AD!!

I think this is one of my favourites of all the tours I've seen. This house looks like a home, and you can tell how much care and thought they put into it. I also love that they didn't just hire all popular type trades/ designers but also had their friends help them create items and furniture they wanted. There is nothing pretentious about it. This home exudes warmth, comfort and family.
Of all the homes AD has shown me, this is the one I like the best. Specifically for the history, design, details of each room and comfort factor. The way they both complimented each other was just beautiful. What a fantastic couple and home. Well done AD!
Might be the most down to Earth celebrity couple I've seen
This was genuinely the best house tour I’ve ever watched. I love how real this couple is you can tell their interactions are not forced for the camera and they are just really in love ❤
We got so many tangible snippets of their life that demonstrate that they're real people - the cameras on display that are actively in use, the disagreement over the blue vs white bowls, their kids drawings on the furniture... Even though they have clearly spent a lot of money on the house and have worked with design professionals, there's no question that they the house represents THEM and is very much lived in!
they seem like a couple that's going to last. respectful, considerate, loving of each other. and to their children. also the house is nice, it doesn't look like a hotel like most of these rich people's houses. very natural yet well planned and cozy feeling
Seeing the way Patrick explains some history facts just makes me wonder, if Suits was ever hard for him to film. His story telling just seems so natural in the show, and in reality.

This has a lot of Moroccan inspired elements. Patrick mentioned the light design in the lounge area. Am super happy -as a Moroccan- of their appreciation of the Moroccan designs, and I really think it brings a lot of soul and personality to their house. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing this home! They were lovely, the house was not sterile, bland or massive ... on the contrary it was warm, colorful, full of personality and actually looked like people lived there! We loved it!

Hands down my fav home tour to date. Listening to both of them be so involved in ev aspect of the remodel/decorating was so refreshing. They make a great “tag team” so very in tune with ea other. My fave house to date. It looks well-lived in, full of history, really charming. There’s art wherever you look- be it a painting, a photograph or the actual architecture and interior design. Every area feels cozy and inviting and there’s no doubt that their guests feel right at home in there. And it’s so interesting that this house has already been featured by AD a century ago. Beautiful then, beautiful now. Troian and Patrick and their team did a wonderful job restoring and renovating this house. The past 100 years just added more character to this house. The overall look and feel matches their quiet and artistic personality quite well. And that backyard spot with the plants, the trees, the vines- looks so natural. I 100% would choose an overgrown look over a well-manicured one.

what a beautifully curated home! I love that the design is intentional but not fussy and it feels warm. Sometimes when you see these house tours, you can tell that the owners spend little to no time in the home- they feel like hotels ...but this actually feels lived in. Homes should be a reflection of your energy and they did a really good job

I love that they seem to just "get" the beauty of the house and all the old features. I have a visceral hatred for people who buy an old house just to "update" everything and hide every single thing that makes it unique. Their style is such a wonderful mix of traditional and modern and this house just seems so cozy.

This is my favorite open door episode (so far)! ❤ You can feel and see the love and respect they have for each other, their home, their kids, and all the different personalities, even those who helped them put their home together. I love their office, how they have their separate areas but can still work together, and how they see themselves really living and loving their home for a long time. The most impressive aspect of this video is their openness and beautiful relationship.
Celebrity houses often lacks personality, it’s been decorated by an interior designer, and the celebs might never even live there the most of the time, and it shows. This house on the contrary is so cozy, and there’s a tremendous Hygge vibration about it, and you can really see that they live here and love decorating it in their own personal style. I live in a house from 1927, and I would have loved to have a book on the story of the house and what it looked like at the beginning with pictures and all, so that is very precious.
