Also, I have 2 custom EQ for my Rave Neo - one at Max or close to max volume and another for other volumes, you might consider doing the same considering how at max volume the levels change drastically on the Rave Neo.

Firstly, excellent review, as always. Secondly, I have pretty much the same speaker as the 'Rave Mega,' except that Soundcore lists it as 'Soundcore Mega' not 'Soundcore Rave Mega' and mine appears to have the same specs as what is mentioned here except that mine has an input for Microphone and another input for Guitar with each of those having their own volume control. While there are ZERO review videos for the one I have -- there are several review videos for the same speaker but with a different name 'Soundcore Trance.' which does not have inputs for microphone or guitar yet costs twice as much as mine at Amazon Canada ($119 CAD). Now my Rave Neo, sounds way Better than my Xtreme 2. The Bass is much deeper and the highs sounds of cymbals is more natural than tiny ear piercing treble from Xtreme. The advantage of JBL Xtreme is its Two channel Stereo speakers the soundstage presence is noticeable in Trained Ears but overall the Rave Neo sounds better in my opinion and also my friends who are present on my test agreed with me.
Back when the Rave Neo was just released I had bought one, and upon disassembling the speaker I noticed there is no crossover... there is only a capacitor to filter the low frequencies out for the tweeter. But that means the woofer is receiving full range audio. This contributes to the 3khz bump. So I found the smallest crossover I could (not much space inside the speaker) that could handle the power output and installed it. Instantly way cleaner sound, it's much cleaner sound now for me. Only sacrifice was very slight volume loss because the high end that the woofer was once producing is now gone.
@@alanrossreviews Correct, with added labor on installing that extra parts and the cost of the parts will reflect definitely on its final pricing instead of $99 it might end up as $175.
Soundcore Mega and Soundcore Trance are actually different speakers. The only difference I know of is the Mega has a microphone input and a guitar input on the back.
They updated the speakers so they're more now, when they update them they make a new name for them. Simple as that. Anker is an AMAZING company with AMAZING value for the money. I have almost every single speaker they've made, alone with every JBL, BT speaker, every LG, Samsung, UE, every Sony BT speaker....many many others and the two rave party cast speakers I bought together, are THE BEST SPEAKERS I've EVER OWNED aside from the JBL party box 1000 that is, but that's a different category all together. I have THRIWN these into the RIVER and had to retrieve them when the current picked up, and they were playing music the entire time and after. Used them for over a year now and I still LOVE THEM. High quality sound, tough as hell. True indestructible PARTY based speaker. For pool parties, lakes, camping, anything. They're just AMAZING for the price all around and the features. This thing literally will last 24 hours and more when they were new even. Crazy people but those expensive ones instead. Although I'm guilty of the same. Lol
What do you think would be the best choice for mostly indoor with 10 or so people but sometime outdoor with 20 people, the rave neo or the motion boom?
I run two Neo's outside with my custom EQ and they are great outdoor speakers. The Rave mini, which is just a variation of the Mega, sounds muddy and dull in comparison, even outside.

Love you reviews. I know this might not be the best video to ask on. But do you like the rave over the motion boom. And what speaker do you recomend for low level hifi stereophonic listening?? I appreciate it!!

You mentioned briefly 2x rave neos vs 1 rave mega. Would you say 2 rave Neos can handle better bass oriented music compared to 1 mega? Is the "right formula" to combine the wattage, so you get essentially 100w or is it not the way to look at it?
not sure what you are asking. the key here is that to double actual loudness you need to increase output by 10db. Doubling the watts gives you apx 3db more and doubling up the speakers gives you 3db more so still short of doubling actual loudness but you get a 5-6db boost adding the second speaker.

I need a speaker that offers the most punchier bass, but that doesn't cost much as a JBL Partybox. And it has to be portable, because I can carry 2x D8, but I can't carry 2x Rave Mega, that's why I'm asking if one Rave Mega is better than two d8

Good evening, I want to buy a new speaker my budget range is between Sony SRS xb43 and Soundcore rave neo, Please which is better which should I choose, considering balanced sound and good deep bass? Also what about their battery capacity?
HI, Im looking to get an outdoor speaker. Im choosing between the MOTION BOOM, the NEO RAVE, and the RAVE MEGA. Im mainly wanting to get the loudest speaker I can. All are the same price. What would you recommend? PLEASE HELP!!
@@alanrossreviews Whats your answer on the loudest speaker? I watched the video, but sorry i got a little confused with the EQ stuff. Which one should I get?
@@TheLradd rave mega just louder and alot of bass compromising sound quality. Neo rave louder than boom but yet still not that good on sound fidelity. Just depends on what you’re able to sacrifice.
if you use third party eq you are just layering eq on top of eq, this can lead to all sorts of issues. not least you need to reduce headroom to avoid clipping the peaks. with eq embedded into firmware first off its designed to work with that speaker and its sound signature and secondly when done right it replaces the dsp tuning so no eq layering.
Which speaker (not necessarily these two) is the best value for money for a basshead opting for suitable indoor listening without sound compression at high levels of volume?
If you just want all sorts of crazy bass i'd recommend one of the JBL Partybox speakers. If those are too expensive try a Motion Boom. It does very well in high volume and usually satisfies my bass needs personally.
sir which one amongst - rave neo or motion plus has a tighter bass? I am not including motion boom since you already mentioned that it has a boomy bass.
Can you teardown soundcore rave neo 50w...really how many watts that speaker.. Teardown will. Show the real watt of the speaker... I have a plan to buy that rave neo soon
Almost every company out there when they UPDATE or IMPROVE something about a product, will rename it in a certain way or update the marketing toward it. It's not weird.
wow amazing ... you're into party now... I hope you'll not trouble the neighbors too much by boooming these trance ... oluv used to do it in the forest nice boom boom experience there ...
I can tell you that the Onyx 6 has more deep bass and better mids and highs. But the Trance/Mega has way more boomy upper bass and sounds better in high volumes. In conclusion, Trance for bassheads and party people. Onyx 6 for casual listeners who like deep bass and full ranged audio.
Hey Alan👋, I see on the caption best party speaker but in many youtubers opinions and testing comparisons they'd agree with me the partybox 100 is maybe the best portable party speaker maybe you can give a test?

Really surprised the reviewer didn't know that the Rave Mega/Mini/Trance all have just one active tweeter on top. The bottom is a fake and non-functional.
yup! and they have a fake eq mode on top of that. outdoor is indoor but just with more gain and indoor cuts some high end to sound more bassey in a fake way.
I know you don't much care for JBL, but I find it odd that you've never reviewed their Partybox line, as it's the one line of JBL products that are actually a pretty good value, as there is not much that competes with them. Strange, the one good value product they make and you don't have any comments, comparisons or reviews. The Neo and Trance sound aweful when compared directly to a Partybox 100 and even moreso compared to a 110. Granted they are expensive, but in this case, still a good value for what your getting. (party box) Really, the only compeition is perhaps mini-rigs, aiwa, that's about it. T9/Trance/Rave all fall flat on their faces in comparison, it's not close.
if you had watched enough of my videos you would have heard me say neighbour and money issues limits what i can do on my ultra small channel. indeed while you claim i dont care much for JBl products if you had spent enough time on my channel you would have known the charge 5 is my low level listen go to and for a long time i championed the charge 3 while bigger channels were trashing it. forgive me for having an honest opinion a limited supply of money and neighbours. youre welcome. btw i cannot test every speaker on the market 😝

Have you bought a Rave Partycast, Mike? I ordered one yesterday out of curiosity to see what it's capable of. Arrives in about 12 hours.
@@thefattmatt not yet. Let us know what you think about it.
Of course I will!
Good evening, I want to buy a new speaker my budget range is between Sony SRS xb43 and Soundcore rave neo, Please which is better which should I choose, considering balanced sound and good deep bass? Also what about their battery capacity?
Rave has better bass.
Thank you very much for replying, if I may ask further, does it also sound very clear and have a great battery life?
HI, Im looking to get an outdoor speaker. Im choosing between the MOTION BOOM, the NEO RAVE, and the RAVE MEGA. Im mainly wanting to get the loudest speaker I can. All are the same price. What would you recommend? PLEASE HELP!!
well boom will lose out once you start hitting max volumes so this video should be your answer
Just depends on what you’re able to sacrifice.
ey nice linus tech tips reference
😝😝
I llove my rave neo in TWS😍
😜👍
ruclips.net/video/acDtAyNfdfk/видео.html
Is it possible to pair rave mini or neo with motion plus?
Nope
Surely an software based eq can function on any speaker?
if you use third party eq you are just layering eq on top of eq, this can lead to all sorts of issues. not least you need to reduce headroom to avoid clipping the peaks. with eq embedded into firmware first off its designed to work with that speaker and its sound signature and secondly when done right it replaces the dsp tuning so no eq layering.
I just want to know if you can connect the rave one with android like Samsung gala j3???
Alan, does it sound different in usb mode compared to bluetooth mode?
I haven't tried it to be honest
@@alanrossreviews please try it out because there are many reports saying that bluetooth deteriorate the sound
🤠
given the custom eq...i prefer the neo...?can we also play the device eq as well the music app that has an eq?...all 3 eq's🤔
Yes totally just beware eq layered on eq can sound nasty. To me anyway ☺️ others love it 👍😝 hang on 3 eqs? The app eq gets embedded into firmware.
@@alanrossreviews 🙏🏻✌🏻
Which speaker (not necessarily these two) is the best value for money for a basshead opting for suitable indoor listening without sound compression at high levels of volume?
budget?
I think he meant overall
@@alanrossreviews Overall
If you just want all sorts of crazy bass i'd recommend one of the JBL Partybox speakers. If those are too expensive try a Motion Boom. It does very well in high volume and usually satisfies my bass needs personally.
What size?
sir which one amongst - rave neo or motion plus has a tighter bass? I am not including motion boom since you already mentioned that it has a boomy bass.
rave neo, motion plus does not have a deep bass.
what is the difference from Anker Rave Neo to Anker Motion plus? Which do you prefer?
Motion boom 😁
@@alanrossreviews thank you
Can you pair rave mega with rave neo, does rave mega has party cast option of pairing???
Whats the difference between the rave mini partycast and the rave mega?
Rave neo sounds better with custom EQ
Trance have better bass and it's smooth
yeah trance is ALL about the bass, no pretence of any balance here 😉
Which one is better Soundcore Zero/+ or Rave Neo? Please answer me Alan, because I'm going to buy one of them next week
never tried the zero
@@alanrossreviews ugh... 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Now you're making me more confused Alan 😓what should I do? Is it possible for you to try the Zeros?
Can you teardown soundcore rave neo 50w...really how many watts that speaker.. Teardown will. Show the real watt of the speaker... I have a plan to buy that rave neo soon
Is it normal that the motion+ has some static noise when nothing is playing?
Nope
Only a very little amount of static noise is normal. You shouldn't be able to hear it unless you are quite close to the speaker.
Watching this video was like watching michael j fox be a sign language interpreter.
i wish i knew what the fuck you was talking about. i bet you thought that was funny when you wrote it? or maybe you are Michael j fox?
Almost every company out there when they UPDATE or IMPROVE something about a product, will rename it in a certain way or update the marketing toward it. It's not weird.
they are not updates or improvements. they are changes so retailers can have an exclusive speaker in the headlines.
Is there a big delay if you're watching a video on your phone or tablet and use this for the sound?
its fine.
Hi can you share your custome setting for indoor use on the. Eo
wow amazing ... you're into party now... I hope you'll not trouble the neighbors too much by boooming these trance ... oluv used to do it in the forest nice boom boom experience there ...
i have to limit to short bursts 🤓
@@alanrossreviews yeah now it will be fun I also love big sound sometime but don't have space for big boom...!!!
Hey sir Alan can you do an equalizer custom on trance please?
i no longer have the trance 😂
Which would you recommend overall, the Rave Neo, or the Rave Partycast? Both are the same price right now!
partycast for upper bass madness or rave neo for more balanced sound and less volume.
still working / still great sound/still battery life and charging?Do you still recommended this speakers for 2022?
they are still relevant
@@alanrossreviews ok thank you
Hi Alan.
Rave mega or motion boom is better for deep low bass?
rave mega is an upper bass machine so motion boom for deep bass.
@@alanrossreviews many Thanks Alan🙋🏻♂️
You are a good man.
on the outside 😁
Thx Alan
Think u can compare the HK onyx 6 and soundcore trance/mega
I can tell you that the Onyx 6 has more deep bass and better mids and highs. But the Trance/Mega has way more boomy upper bass and sounds better in high volumes.
In conclusion,
Trance for bassheads and party people.
Onyx 6 for casual listeners who like deep bass and full ranged audio.
Hey Alan👋, I see on the caption best party speaker but in many youtubers opinions and testing comparisons they'd agree with me the partybox 100 is maybe the best portable party speaker maybe you can give a test?
could happen 😋
@@alanrossreviews I've seen so many youtubers comparing the jbl partybox 100 to a bunch of other party speakers being same size a same price range or even some that are bigger more expensive nd still they chose the partybox 100 I want to know if your testing and readings on your scales make sense why they chose that speaker
What one sounds better mate?
rave neo
Which is better? Soundcore trance go or soundcore rave neo???
are they not the same speaker with and without lights?
Do the speakers really only have an sbc codec?
yup!
@Alan Ross Reviews I am thinking about getting a Rave Neo to use its parts to build a Partycast subwoofer. It would pair well with my two Flare 2's. It would be like a wireless Minirig subwoofer. Attn. Soundcore! We want a Partycast sub!
wireless subwoofer? the world awaits 😁
Am confused between neo rave vs soundcore motion plus. Can u suggest
totally different, if size doesnt both you then the rave neo is better
@@alanrossreviews but som reviews saying that rave beo sound clarity is not good as motion plus. It has better bass and loudness but motion plus is good if comsdering audio quality.
@@alanrossreviews Thanks.. i ordered neo 50w
@@baijujose7789 "Everywhere I go I see your comment" 😂. BTW how is neo? I am also confused like you between m+ and RN. I want clear highs mids and lows with great bass? Is RN better?
@@youcan2981 😂 yes bro am happy with tht. Use custom eq.
2.1?? rave neo and 2x motion plus?
no cant connect these
@@alanrossreviews 🙄 motion+ doesnt have party cast? Is that why it can't connect to rave neo?
should i upgrade to the neo from the sound boom pro
Thr boom pro?
@@alanrossreviews i meant the select sound pro
The pro is crap so yes 😁
Mega VS jbl extreme 3 please
Really surprised the reviewer didn't know that the Rave Mega/Mini/Trance all have just one active tweeter on top. The bottom is a fake and non-functional.
yeah he must be a twat!
@@alanrossreviews nah, he's not a that. lol
last thing i expected was a tweeter not to be working, i found out afterwards. yeah i should be more clued up 😂
@@alanrossreviews it's a bit dishonest on the part of Anker to make these like this appearing to have dual tweeters.
yup! and they have a fake eq mode on top of that. outdoor is indoor but just with more gain and indoor cuts some high end to sound more bassey in a fake way.
to bad to expensive in Europe, jbl deals come around same prices then, pitty ...
Why use two tweeters and make it "mono"? it makes no sense! 🙄
Turns out only one tweeter is connected, so fake tweeter and fake eq mode.
@@alanrossreviewsIt's all about the bottom line! 😠
yeah but they still had to add the tweeter, i think so they could have matching lights.
@@alanrossreviews thanks for what you do. Appreciate all the reviews.
Rave trance 2
I wish i had no soul
You sure you got one?
Trance sounds awful in comparison
its a bass box, for a boom boom by the pool it will be fine.
@@alanrossreviews EQ App helps a lot if only it has EQ customizable app it may beat the Rave Neo in over all sound quality.
If your device have an equalizer then you can increase the mids and highs, same with the bass. I did that and my Soundcore Trance sounds so good now.
@@benjrgadgets7223 totally agree, people just need to play with the equalizer and bass.
