@@anubis4496 The requirement is 8mins. Personally I'm here for it! Builds limited to one episode have a ceiling in quality and complexity, allow the man to grow!
A really old school video vibe which is great to see! I'm sure it's a lot of work but definitely worth it seeing Alec make some Damascus again and seeing some great videography from Jamie too. Excited to see the rest of this series!
Omg yes! I thought I was misreading at first and it was just an old video that I’ve already watched numerous times. Without checking I’m pretty sure it’s been at least a year since we’ve seen Alec do a multi part Damascus weapon build series, and I’d guess that 90+% of us subscribers fell in love with his channel for exactly that. We’ve missed this so much and I’m so pumped to see how this turns out! Alec Steele is back!
YEEEEESSSSS!!!! A multi part damascus build!!!! Love the editing by the way Jamie. We asked for an old school style video series and you have responded with a plom, thank you!
Old Alec: Frantically cleans Damascus with a grinder for 6 episodes. New Alec : uses a milling machine. They grow up so fast 🤧 Btw Jamie you did a masterpiece of showing the same stuff in a new way. Props !!
I really don’t understand how even after all the years the bunch of you still manages to make the forging, cutting and welding shots look cooler and cooler each time! Love the evolution of skills y’all developed over time. Edit: Oh, and the fooling around. Definitely love to see the fooling around! 😁
Alec; as a woodworker and hobby luthier your tease of a Damascus guitar got me WAY too excited. You should collaborate with a woodworking channel to make a functioning guitar! You could make the pickup covers, pickguard, frets, tuners, knobs, headstock decals. And any other metal you can find on there!
I've been watching your videos since the coke Forge and I got to say I think I finally figured out why the vibe is so good. It's because you are a blacksmith but you remind me a lot of the good points of my grandfather who loved to work on cars. Always trying new stuff, always fixing tools to fix other tools to fix the thing, loving huge old heavy duty tools. Love your channel
2:58 automagic. Love the montages Jamie, this was a really really good one! cheers. Oh! don’t forget the hard work :) thank you Mr Steele. Don’t we all love damascus 🎉
Finally a blacksmith RUclipsr that actually makes his content actually fun to watch, instead of a building timelapse. The Scooby Doo reference was great.
Love that you guys actually listen to the comments give your fans what they want I love any video you guys put out but a good old multi-part series always hits the soul just right
Crazy how far you guys have come over the years. This video was absolutely amazing. The intro sequence looked like a legit music video, you got jokes, and having a step-by-step explanation of the process is always greatly appreciated.
Hell yeah I am so damn excited about this series already, we've got awesome damascus, we've got a badass weapon, we've got jamie's antics and top notch editing, we've got montages, I can't wait for the next parts!
That chefs knife was by far one of my favorite builds you’ve done.definitely my favorite Damascus pattern. Happy to see your building something similar again.
Thanks for a new weapon build!!! I love seeing you learning to build tools and other projects but seeing you make an historic or fantasy weapon is my favourite. Great channel Alec!
Soooo sooo happy, it's like the good old days are back! Thank you all at the channel! The dog training is definitely paying off from the looks of it. Although I did wonder if there is much money to be made from it. Looks like good fun though.. Looking forward to the next installment of the new project, and seeing how the pattern turns out. Stay good! 👍✌🖖
This is the Alev Steele Videos I have been waiting for, and also that is the best pattern stacking description I have ever seen on any of your videos. Really out of any Damascus making videos I have seen but I have not searched for them.
The video has just started (42 seconds) and i'm completely blown away by the edit Mr. Jamie Popple (hope i'm not wrong with the spelling). What a great job.
Alec! Add a tasty coffee making montage within this series to make this series really authentic! Really excited for this build its why I subscribed to you 5 or more years back!
I was thinking just the other day that I missed your blade making series and separately that it would be cool if you made a a katar/Qatar. Now here we are. I'm happy.
What an amazing job on this one Jamie. Really cool to see the new videography, music, and editing. It was a fun change of pace and we can tell you put in a good bit of effort.
now we're talking. this is the content that I subscribed for. the intermediary episodes of Alec making a padlock or a zippo were mildly interesting, sure, but they were basically him just making a copy of something that's already been designed and made. doesn't make for a very interesting project just seeing someone copy something. would've been more fascinating if it was more along the lines of other creators who take inspiration from existing designs but either add a personal flair to it or design something significantly different with the original as inspiration on how engineering/mechanical problems were solved.
Unlike the concerns you voiced in an earlier video, I can't get enough from seeing you make Damascus, and forging :) It's so nice to see. Please keep it up!
Nice to see you're finally taking decent depths of cut on the mill! Kudos to Jamie, some of the best camera work I've seen in a long time. Looks old school :-) Love it!
Not usually one to say things were better in the old days... But with projects like this I like to be part of the journey. I'm not a big fan of that "here's something we prepared earlier". But on the other hand we've already been on this journey with you during earlier builds and we get that it's now just a tedious process. You made a really nice design and I can't wait to see the result!
First off amazing job Jamie. I am super happy to see you doing builds like this again, but I will say that I think a mix between the new type of content and the older loved content would work quite well.
Really been missing the awesome forging shots. Very happy to see the return in this video. Ready for this 52 part series (Now that Will is gone to do all the sanding)
Hey steele! Ive never worked with metall and now ive started with gold! So nice to work with it! I didnt use heat, i just took the coin and smashed it! In the end it was double the size and i was able to cut the form i wanted out with sissors ^^ hahaha
Quality camera work and editing Jamie! Loved the nod to your old work with power hammer timing etc but adding new depth still. Keep it up! Looking forward to seeing how this build progresses! 😀
Heard you lot were thirsty for a good old damascus weapon build.
Spectacular work
THE Jamie?
You heard right
I’d love to have your music library 🤘
The people have spoken 👏 🙌
Here’s hoping that Alec breaks something and this turns in to a good old fashioned 945 episode series including 40 hours of hand sanding 🤟
Nooooo...
I want this so much!
24 episode series make my Stargate Binging Genes happy.
Seconded!
i see 8 episodes of fixing the engraver and the doing something extra fancy for the handle and image he might put on the blade itself
Will is not there anymore for the hand sanding
Alec is back with a 40 part build and I'm so here for it!!!! This has been greatly anticipated🤩🤩
Wouldn't have to be 40 parts if he didn't keep them all just over 10 minutes for the RUclips money 🤣🤣
@@anubis4496 The requirement is 8mins. Personally I'm here for it! Builds limited to one episode have a ceiling in quality and complexity, allow the man to grow!
@@anubis4496 Whatever. I'm down for it... if it goes 40 parts.
Jamie's editing really is something else. That intro was properly epic.
Yeah he really enjoyed himself on this one I think
100% agree, the black and white filter was awesome with the billet still in orange
THAT WAS SO SICK!!
Best intro I've seen!
That intro was seriously some of the best camera work I’ve seen in a long time. Great job Jamie!
That intro was on another level, can't wait for this series.
Glad to see you taking on community feedback guys, big love.
A really old school video vibe which is great to see! I'm sure it's a lot of work but definitely worth it seeing Alec make some Damascus again and seeing some great videography from Jamie too. Excited to see the rest of this series!
These builds are the reason I am subscribed to this channel. Bring it on!
Jamie needs to be nominated for an editing award for that one.
Jamie on FIRE with the editing on this one, good lawd.
Meh. A few years ago it was awesome but now it’s the Same editing style as normal. Show us something innovative.
Dude I’m so happy we’re back to a nice tasty weapon series!! I’m certain Alec wouldn’t agree… but I hope this is like 26 episodes 🤣
A big Chonky weapon series is always a good time
Omg yes! I thought I was misreading at first and it was just an old video that I’ve already watched numerous times. I know right!!!! Hypetrain
I always like seeing how Alec figures out the engineering of these weapon builds. This is going to be an unique series.
YEEEEESSSSS!!!! A multi part damascus build!!!! Love the editing by the way Jamie. We asked for an old school style video series and you have responded with a plom, thank you!

3:51 Harry Damascus and the Whetting Stone
I really don’t understand how even after all the years the bunch of you still manages to make the forging, cutting and welding shots look cooler and cooler each time!
Love the evolution of skills y’all developed over time.
Edit: Oh, and the fooling around. Definitely love to see the fooling around! 😁
Everytime I watch one of your videos I realize that the cinematography is just unreal. The shots at the beginning of the video are amazing
LOVING the return of the over the top blacksmithing scenes. Awesome cinematic shots from Jamie!
So glad we’re back to smithing! Can’t wait to see how this turns out, when it’s done in 20 videos
Missed the bladesmithing series. Good to see an awesome start to a new build

You could make the pickup covers, pickguard, frets, tuners, knobs, headstock decals. And any other metal you can find on there!
Love the return to the old video style. Please make more like this one.
Great to see a bit of classic Alec Steele again, this is what we need.
It seems like forever since Alec has made something from Damascus- excited for it. Also, I am interested in seeing how it's wielded.
I've been watching your videos since the coke Forge and I got to say I think I finally figured out why the vibe is so good. Jamie: "Alec, how many visual effects do you want?"
Alec: "Bollywood"
finallly!!! a hopefully long build series
Finally a new 26 part projet. Thank you so much, I missed it 😍
I love being on the march with my dog. When you're one machine. Centered on the task ahead. Makes the training of the dog and myself rewarding.
2:58 automagic. Love the montages Jamie, this was a really really good one! cheers. Oh! don’t forget the hard work :) thank you Mr Steele. Don’t we all love damascus 🎉

Great build can’t wait to see more. Always amazing video when it comes to Alec Steel. The Jamie bit was hilarious! Much love from Canada 🇨🇦
53 seconds in... Sorry Mr Steele commented a few times but Jamie has me hooked at the moment. The editing and videography.... Wow stunning...
Hell yes. Another 15 part series!
Thanks for a new weapon build!!! I love seeing you learning to build tools and other projects but seeing you make an historic or fantasy weapon is my favourite. Great channel Alec!
YAAY knife builds again!
Just want to say this episode is EXTREMELY well filmed, this is one of the best looking and edited episodes Alec! Props to your editor and filmer
Yay, real forging 😁
That color grading on initial montage is quality Hollywood level. That's pure art.
Love seeing it guys. Should call that fingerprint damascus.
0:55 Well played boys.
Jamie is seriously so good with these edits. Looking forward to the 14,556 part series
Stay good! 👍✌🖖
Amazing editing as always. Whatever you pay Jamie, double it 😂
This is the Alev Steele Videos I have been waiting for, and also that is the best pattern stacking description I have ever seen on any of your videos. Really out of any Damascus making videos I have seen but I have not searched for them.
I really like how every year or so, Jamie and Alec level up the production. The editing on this is pure fire!
The video has just started (42 seconds) and i'm completely blown away by the edit Mr. Jamie Popple (hope i'm not wrong with the spelling).
What a great job.
YESSSS that intro! Love to see it, that's a new favourite bit of cinematography ever. Well done Jamie! and for convincing him to make a guitar!
Yes! A good old fashioned build series!
Fake
I relly enjoy how not only do the production techniqes improve, how also the forging skill and dad jokes improve.
Keep up the hard work
Frickn LOVED that intro! Nice job Jamie.
Soooo happy to see a return to forging weapons along with goofy interludes!
Alec! Add a tasty coffee making montage within this series to make this series really authentic! Really excited for this build its why I subscribed to you 5 or more years back!
Oh yeah! Multi-part damascus weapon build! Filmed in a nuevo old-school Jamie & Alec style! Love it!
30 seconds in and I'm already sold on watching every second of this series with that beautiful editing
The opening sequence was amazing! You guys keep stepping up your game. The toilet flush at 3:03 was incredible!
I was thinking just the other day that I missed your blade making series and separately that it would be cool if you made a a katar/Qatar. Now here we are. I'm happy.
these 600 part series are what made me follow alec. im hes getting back to his roots!
Love this kind of metal making.... what brought me to this channel to begin with, just wish we had more of it.
This video has a lot of old school Alec Steel vibs and Im here for it, the Damascus montage was awesome.
So good to see Alec forge as well as a multi part series. And Jamie got to have fun with the video editing keep it up!
Seeing this come up on my feed brought me so much joy! Can't wait for parts 2-35!
I love the black and white shots with only the orange glowing metal in colour. Very cool, well done
What an amazing job on this one Jamie. Really cool to see the new videography, music, and editing. It was a fun change of pace and we can tell you put in a good bit of effort.
I was just thinking I missed the old forging videos, and Alec puts out a BANGER!!!
Jesus Jaime…that intro was by far your best yet…that was sick!
Really like the "old school" type if videos where you show how you make the damscus etc. love it already
JAMIE! The editing of that intro was off the chain! Bravo man!

I would love to see a video where Jaime forges and plans the project for the day and Alec films and edits. Would be cool to see the dynamic
Nice to see you're finally taking decent depths of cut on the mill! Kudos to Jamie, some of the best camera work I've seen in a long time. Looks old school :-) Love it!
It's amazing how similar the process of making damascus patterns is to making end-grain cutting boards in woodworking
It's very gratifying to see Alec forging a blade again.
Yes It’s forging time with Alec can’t wait to see this beauty finished your skill’s always amaze me i wish I could do this.
Jamie really out did himself with that opening sequence.
Brilliant work there.
Editing: mind-blowing. Project: worth a series. Entertainment value: incredible.
Jamie, that intro! Lining up with the music and the selective keying of colors.
Just so much win!
Hat's off to you good sir!

Gotta give Jamie credit on this one the edits on the montages were next level and I can’t wait to see how this turns out
First off amazing job Jamie.
I am super happy to see you doing builds like this again, but I will say that I think a mix between the new type of content and the older loved content would work quite well.
Grinding, and cutting, and white board drawing; we've all been waiting for this return to form.
5:12 it is herring pattern in not just 2D but in 3D so Kudos Alec :D
Glad to see you’re getting back to what I love about your channel!
A video about forging Damascus?
Let's go!
Really been missing the awesome forging shots. Very happy to see the return in this video. Ready for this 52 part series (Now that Will is gone to do all the sanding)
Love this video! Feels like we went back 3 or 4 years with those fun bits in between. Missed that energy, it's great.
And might I add, one of the BEST edited 'maker' youtube videos on the platform.
Think im more impressed with the cute doggo than i am the smithing. That dog is very well trained and behaved, good job Alec!
Hey steele! Ive never worked with metall and now ive started with gold! So nice to work with it!
I didnt use heat, i just took the coin and smashed it! In the end it was double the size and i was able to cut the form i wanted out with sissors ^^ hahaha
Alec, definitely show us trying to fix the engraver, the fixing this episodes are my favorite!
I love that even the editing on this feels "Bollywood!" Great job Alec and Jaimie!!!
Video edition is on some cosmic level Alec !
Quality camera work and editing Jamie! Loved the nod to your old work with power hammer timing etc but adding new depth still. Keep it up!
Looking forward to seeing how this build progresses! 😀
These are by far the best looking damascus patterns ever!!!!!!
Love the damascus forge montage at the start, very stylish, and edited amazingly.
Yesss let's go a long series including a part with repairing tools!!!
Finally katar is getting some love, it's a really underappreciated weapon, considering it's powerful piercing properties.
