HI GIRLS AND GUYS, OH MY GOSH, I HAD A REALIZATION THAT I AM OLD, HAHA. IT ALL STARTED WITH A TRIP WHICH I WILL GO OVER IN THE VIDEO. HAVE YOU EVER HAD A WAKE UP MOMENT THAT REALLY SHOWED YOU YOUR AGE? NO MATTER WHAT WE DO TO OURSELVES TO LOOK OUR BEST, THERE IS NO DENYING THAT WHEN WE TRULY GET SET IN OUR WAYS, WE FACE THE TRUTH. I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR OWN REALIZATIONS AS TO WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO THE POINT OF KNOWING YOU ARE OLD, OR OLDER, AGING AND SEASONED.
    THANKS SO MUCH FOR WATCHING!

At 71 I have only spent 4 nights away from home over the past five years. I use to fly a lot for vacations and family and since Covid and all the chaos over the past 4 years prefer to stay home with my cats. My husband, who is ten years younger has taken two driving trips without me and that’s no problem, just don’t make me go cuz I won't. I can’t spend 10 hours riding in a car. When I travel I need: noise machine; my pillow; tubes of starbucks coffee-I am a coffee snob and these are pretty good; eye mask; ear plugs; all my own face creams, shampoo and conditioner I put in little travel bottles. Probably not getting on an airplane again and maybe not traveling at all again. I have a good busy life in my community and like you in good shape for getting in and out of tubs. I play pickleball and I am in a ukulele group who performs publicly. Physically I am grateful to say I am in good health and credit my fortunate genetics and always risk avoidance though I have suffered injuries from my equestrian days but I survived it all. Love your channel; your vibe and telling it like it is without apology. Cheers and keep making videos watching here from San Diego.

Mine is heating pad also, cotton balls for ear plugs for bedtime, my own pillow, heavy whipping cream for my coffee,

Hi Mary Kay, thank you so much for your comment and for sharing. We definitely are funny but at least we are honest, right? Several people in the comments have said that they have to have a fan blowing on them so I guess that is pretty common for us seniors. Noise doesn’t bother me yet, but that is a great idea about using cotton balls for your ears. Dave needs his own pillow because he sleeps on a wedge pillow so that he is somewhat inclined. He did not take it on this trip because it was just one night, but if we went somewhere for a week, he would definitely have to take it. Cars have gotten smaller and smaller over the years, but I need a big one just to haul my creature comforts! Love, Sheila.

Sheila, you’re making me laugh because lately we’ve talked about getting tall toilets. I can also relate to the knee pillow and all of the creature comforts age related. It’s difficult to travel as we get older and I’m beginning to be a real homebody. I love my bed and my bathtub. Age is a funny thing. Love to you. ❤

😆As always, we’re on the same page😆. I have a suitcase on wheels for my travels. It stays packed with my creature comforts. Almost identical to yours 😂. Heating pad, knee pillow, etc. The standard toilets are a huge issue for me with no grab bars. My daughter even had a tall toilet & grab bars installed for me when I visit in her new her home.

Hi Jocelyn, thank you so much for your comment and for sharing that I am not alone in needing/wanting my creature comforts with me. I don’t have trouble yet getting up and down from a standard toilet, however, it is definitely difficult on those that need the taller one. That was so sweet and kind of your daughter to have a tall toilet and grab bars installed for you when you visit her in her new home. What a thoughtful girl you raised! I just didn’t think about my creature comforts until we decided to take this overnight trip to my grandson’s house. I think I better get a suitcase on wheels for sure! Much love, Sheila.

Hi Sheila …. You made me laugh 😆 because I too take a lot of the same things when I travel …. I keep a packed tote in my pantry that goes with me on trips. It has a Keurig coffee maker, a mug, a heating pad, a fan, a toaster, paper plates, & plastic ware …. The night before any trip I pack my Green Mountain Breakfast Blend coffee, Premier protein drinks, bananas & MOSH protein bars .. When I get to my destination I have to purchase coffee mate in the liquid .. Hate the powder …. Any hotel I stay at has to at least have a microwave & fridge. I don’t think it has to do as much with age as it does us being a little spoiled and needing our ‘home comforts’ with us. I’ve had a packed tote ready to go since I was in my 40s and I’m 63 now lol .. I will drink coffee from restaurants or a Starbucks if I’m out shopping. But in my hotel room and first thing in the morning I want my own …. Great topic and you’re not alone. Many of us just like you!
Loved the INTip 🙌♥️ .. Have a fabulous & blessed weekend sweet friend!
    Love & Hugs, Karen ♥️🤗

I'm sure there's others than I can't think of right off hand. And yes, like you I cannot live without the comfort of the Lord. Thank you for the reading of the Word!

@@kathystclair9485 Hi Kathy, thank you so much for your comment and for sharing. Besides a heating pad helping with an aching back, it is very comforting to me. Glad you enjoy your heating pad as well. I do like the noise of a fan, I didn’t think to mention that in the video. I also sleep with a satin pillowcase, did not think to take it for this one night trip, but if I went away for a week, it would definitely come with me. I believe we all have some creature comforts that have to come with us, whether we just want them for comfort or need them. I’m so pleased that you enjoyed the inside beauty tip. I have one at the end of every single video I do they always include, a scripture reading. The comfort of the Lord is not something we have to pack to take with us, God gives us comfort at all times and where would we be without it? Love, Sheila.

Hi! I'm a new subscriber and I wanted to say "Thank you!" for this video! I am 64 years old and have multiple disc deterioration (presumably from a bad fall I had a few years ago). Also, arthritis! Horrible pain in my neck and shoulder blade. But - I was made to feel that I was too "High Maintenance" when I was a younger woman. Your video here has helped me so much to over come that feeling that I don't need anything and I'll be content. It's okay to need things! I'm going to get that heating pad you talked about and a wedge pillow for my head and neck. Thank you Sheila! You have helped me to start to take better care of myself and not feel guilty about it. God Bless You!

My heart goes out to you having to deal with pain each and every day. Of course you need things for comfort and you have every right to have them to live a better life. You are not high maintenance, you are someone who needs, some things to live a better quality of life. Mindy, never ever feel guilty about taking care of yourself and meeting the needs that you require. Do not care what others may think, because what they think doesn’t matter one bit. What matters is you, your life your body. No one else has walked in your shoes and they have no right to have an opinion. Please make yourself a top priority in your life, know how special you are and that you are worthy. Never feel bad about giving yourself things you need for your own comfort. I'm still pretty much a "go with the flow" girl at 74. My last vacation was a 10 day trip to Maui with just a carryon bag and one personal item. As long as I have access to a washer and dryer, I'm good. I do make sure I have my prescription drugs, my Kindle for reading and a pair of comfortable walking/hiking footwear. Although I'm a coffee snob at home, when I travel I'm pretty flexible as long as it's caffeine. I've even been known drink coffee made with one of those coffee bags (like a teabag) and hot water....ha...ha. Good video and good subject.

Every time I see your hair I want that color definitely I’m gonna look for it because this silver is not working for me. It looks like I didn’t do anything to my hair. I hope I find the right color you look adorable I love love your hair color.

🤣I can totally relate. We just got home from visiting our kids and I need to take a lot of stuff. We travel in a small RV and it is mostly filled with everything I MUST have. Heat and coffee is right up there at the top of my list.

Your needs are funny to me but also very familiar. I'm seriously thinking a household assistant is in our future -- one that travels with us. Remember the old TV show "Hazel?" It was in the Black and White era as I recall -- or maybe we were just too poor to have a color TV. Yeah, where do we find a "Hazel" in 2024?

I am 82 Nov 6, and thank God I don’t need a lot of the things you are talking about except all the essentials like toothbrush and my hair items. We are planning long trip to visit our daughter over Christmas for a week and I do dread flying and airports, not what it used to be but my health allows me to still get around on my own two feet and as long as it stays this way I will continue……

I must have my portable heater, electric blanket, etc. I will be going back to the sleep specialist for a possibility of needing a breathing device. We look good, though!

Wow. This is first time I’ve seen one of your video….a little high maintenance??? I love having all my comfy stuff too, but do you really need all that stuff for on nite?? You are very beautiful for an older woman but you sound like a little spoiled princess!!! Live!! Climb over that tub and don’t fall!!! Just be very careful!! You’re so petite. You can do it!! 🤣🤣 if you can’t then maybe you should start some strength training. I”m 69. Also petite w osteo. I take strength training classes and it’s helped a lot. Ahhh just heard you use that word. Spoiled! lol You are Not old! You are gorgeous and look great. Enough said. Prayers for your husband. 💕

@@kindred1113 hi Mindy, thank you so much for your comment. Dave just laughs at me and is willing to take whatever I feel I need to take. He has to take all of his diabetic supplies, blood pressure monitor, all his medications for his cancer and his CPAP machine. He sleeps with a wedge pillow for elevation, but he did not bring it on this trip since it was just for one night. We just torment each other and laugh our way through it. Thank you for sharing what you have to have with you, which is very minimal compared to all my stuff. Love, Sheila.
