To be clear, it's not a competition, BUT we thought it would be a cool idea to compare some of the same plants we're both growing and give some insight into each of our environmental conditions and care for each of them!

Such as temperatures. For example, I feel like my veitchii likes cooler temps and my clarinervium likes warmer temps. I could be wrong. Videos like this are so valuable. Thank you

I put systematic in every plant I own, I had delt with thrips, mealie, spider mites, and aphids, and since I used systemics, I haven't had a single pest is 8 months! Not a single bug!!!! But I didn't use the organic systematic, I used a store purchased, chemical systematic! I watered it in, I can't remember the brand, but it's made for rose bushes and azelas, more sensitive plants, so I trusted it, I couldn't handle the thrips and mealies any more! So I used the big chemical dogs! And it has worked and worked for a long long long time!!! Amazing stuff, it's not bio advance brand, but the other that's very similar to bio advance! I just checked, it is bio advance!!!! It's blue container, they sell it in a pellet slow release and a wet that you mix with water and water it in!! And it's amazing stuff!!! Seriously, this is the longest I have to went without a pest on any of my 130 house plants, I also got aphids on numerous of my out door plants, and I used it on every outdoor plant, and it took care of the aphids! Completely! I also got aphids on my outdoor flowers I plant every summer, put it in those, killed every pest, and never harmed my plants! It is an insecticide, fertilizer, and disease control, a 3 in 1! Amazing amazing stuff, strong but well worth saving plants!!!

Mealybugs are my #1 plant foe, they’re really the only pest I’ve had on my indoor plants (besides fungus gnats) 😣 I think I’ve eradicated them w/ a combo of physical removal either w/ a damp paper towel or q-tip and dousing them with neem oil, concentrating on the joints of the plant. I’d let that sit for about 12 hrs (usually overnight) and then rinse them off really well. I haven’t seen any in a few months, knock on wood 😬😬
I hope you’re able to get rid of yours quickly and completely! 💚🌿

I think I'm having a small anxiety attack and want to go check all of my plants, now. Ughhh PESTS!!! I'm currently going through some kind of leaf spot on my heartleaf Philo and a Draceana. I actually threw the Draceana ((sigh)). Plant parenthood shouldn't be so stressful...I just want to sit in my little jungle and ENJOY it! I hope you get your Micans under control...Damn mealy bugs! so sad 😞

I live half way up the East coast of Australia. I've never had spidermites or thrips but we do get alot of mealy bugs and scale. I just use warm soapy water, let it dry on the leaves and repeat every few days till they die of suffocation. Just stick the majority of you Micans in a bucket of warm water and dish soap.

I received my starter frydek 2 weeks ago and it came with lots of healthy roots potted in a soil-less medium (coco husk chips, pine bark, perlite, horticultural charcoal) in a drain-less cup for props. I left it the way it came and placed in this acrylic display case which holds its humidity really well. 3 days ago I noticed the medium dry but can still see condensation near the bottom of the cup, yet my dumbass still lightly watered it and today I noticed some roots became much darker so I pulled it out and sure enough, some roots started to rot 😢 I rinsed it, put it in a cup of diluted hydro/perox for a few minutes then repotted it with my own fresh soil-less medium in a 3 inch orchid pot. I really want to grow mine in pon; my question is, would it be smarter to wait until its more mature or could I switch it now? If I can now, should I do any intermediary steps? Like let it sit in distilled water and maybe marphyll or super thrive? And then do the conversion when I get water roots?

Gotta disagree with the comment that Gloriosum don't grow flawless and huge outside of a tent. I've grown mine starting with 8¨ leaves outside a tent in 45-50% humidity and she now has a bunch of 22¨ leaves. A lot of EFN though, but it doesn't bother be since it's just on the back of the leaves.
