What I really enjoy about your videos is that i can just play them while doing other things. You explain everything so well that I don’t have to look at the screen the whole time, which I love!
for the metallicum - try using rooting powder/hormones. and of course, suuuuper diluted fertilizer that could promote root growth for the plant. need to study more a bit about the plant need first tho. veitchii takes about 1-1.5 month for me to harden and enlarge it's leaves. and narrow forms tend t be more prune to dry air and way fuzzier though as fart as everyone's talking, so I would not feel that comfortable touching the new leaves either. pallidiflorum - I grow it outside the box, 45-55% humidity and it does great. I mean, I had a 60+cm leaves one and now growing a seedling - as soon as it pushed 3 tiny leaves It's just sitting under my grow light next ot other babies and putting a 5th largest leaf ~20cm. not a fuzzy plant at all imo. those leathery leaves tells a lot about plants already. hope that helps .)
I love that mix you are trying! I have been having wild success with a mix of reptibark, tree fern, perlite and stratum. I also use leca In the bottom of EVERY plant whether is has drainage or no drainage.
Catching up on videos but had to watch this one as soon as I saw you uploaded! That Amanda feature was unexpected but appreciated, I'm glad you have her to help you out! Here's hoping the Elaphoglossum starts to push out roots soon. 💖
Thank you for introducing me to tropicals plants! I'm now waiting for a 30 plant order and seeing how well your imports from them are doing gives me hope!
Good Afternoon ❤️ This video is such a life saver Was really nervous of importing plants But since Anthuriums are really expensive here in the UK and hard to find Thought I’d try and import some from Ecuagenera This video on the updates and the care is so helpful Thank you 🙏 such a queen 👸 Have a nice rest of the week ❤️
Girl you got me on a declutter my life bender ! Just another kick in the ass I needed 😂. It’s fun following on this journey. Digging in now. I PU an unplanned purchase at the last ecua popup. Anthurium sp silver and it’s now leafless but I managed to salvage the chonk so I’m hoping 🤞 pray for me!
Wow, such an informative video. Thank you so much. Lots of love. Also, you're living proof, I'm seeing people stressing about higher humidity for anthuriums, but you're amazing and it gives me the confidence to own one in my lower humidity place. Do you have a melanochrysm? Where does it live? Does it require tons of humidity? I really appreciate it if you took the time and read my comment. Thanks if you wish to answer the question.
My A. Pallidiflorum also hated me (for almost a year) but it’s finally growing. The leaves are almost as long as my arms, just be patient, they take a long time to acclimate.
Charmaine!!!! So happy to see you post an import video!!💚💚💚 so interested in how you are caring for that fern. I left mine in moss, too afraid to pot it up in anything else.
My first import The Philodendron Red Brown from a pop up... I got her in July, LAST YEAR, and I'm still trying to get her to root or do anything. I'll see a tiny bit of growth and it dies back, or some new roots and they do nothing x.x. I've tried water, substrate, moss pole and more wet substrate. Now shes in a the shame tub in water and perlite, little did I know I should have started with that a humidity tub xD Its been a long year or so of collecting house plants and there's always going to be something to learn or relearn or retry. Here's to hoping my plant does something after like 7 months. I'm going to try some moist moss in the bottom to boost up the humidity and hopefully it helps.
I need a super narrow! I have two baby Veitchii but I have no idea what they'll end up looking like because they're still seedlings 😮 50$ for that one is soooo good 🥳
I get so overwhelmed on those lives!! But it’s on my bucket list to do it at least once. I saw that they had this MASSIVE veitchii super narrow on the live sale for like $40!! 🪦🪦
@@unplantparenthood I don’t know how I missed your reply!!! They have the best plants during lives and you automatically get added to raffles. I’ve won two plants already a MASSIVE waroc and a massive lux. Seriously so much funn
You’ve made this metallicum super popular now! My socal fb plant group is looking for this plant every where lol I should have ordered it when I killed my first one
Your Elaphoglossum metallicum is VERY cool. I bought a single leaf of the fern known as a Blue Oil Fern. Do you still have one? Very thick blue leaf like yours just thinner in width. It is in a cloche and I've learned it must stay moist to stay happy. Other than that its slow growing but healthy. I've had it since last August, growing in a tree fern fiber and perlite mix. It is JUST now, 8 months later, starting to poke 2 growth points out if those dark stems. Also the blue has faded, a bit, as the leaf matured. I think fading is also a similar trait as your plant. Looking forward to seeing how your plant matures. Those blue leaves are amazing and imho, worth waiting for! Thank you for the interesting video, enjoyed it and really love learning about your plant growing experiences. Lynn
Omg thank you so much for sharing your experience with it!! There’s honestly not much detailed info online in terms of care, so I was just gonna treat it like any other fern (although my track record with ferns is questionable 😆) - I still have it in water and it seems to be doing pretty good still, but I’m considering maybe moving it to stratum to try and get some roots on it, and then will eventually move it to tree fern fibre as a permanent substrate. Please keep your fingers and toes crossed for me! And thank you again for sharing your advice 💙
@@unplantparenthood I've had really great luck rooting plants with Stratum, good call, imo. The roots on my fern are naturally dark and some have a tinge of red. It makes it really hard to determine if the roots are rotting, mine never have rotted, even though I keep the soil quite moist. I'll keep my digits crossed for ya! Thanks again for all your hard work making these videos, they really are appreciated❣🌱
Ugh! Completely agree with your Ecuagenera comment. I purchased a large heterocraspedon, a verrucosum x amazon sunset, and an acutifolium… they ALLL rotted away within days. They’re currently all in tree fern propagating. NEVER AGAIN with ecua.
Did you order from ecuagenera USA or ecuagenera Ecuador? I’ve found the USA location ships waaay better in terms of packaging, but when it’s imported from Ecuador it’s a total shit show. The last pop up I went to everything was in clear plastic and dripping wet- so many rotten leaves 😣 tropicals plants is definitely my importer of choice now! I just hope as they get more popular that the packaging stays as good as it’s been!

Never got any response from them went back to next day on their live ask them where is the bundle they told me to check my spam and still no plants !!! I think they wanted me to order 10 plants!! So I’m gonna order plants from north shore tropical. I think ferns usually have brown/black roots... I once wanted to repot my crocodile fern and I chopped off all the roots, cus I thought they were rotten 😂 they weren't 😅
That’s it, I’m getting a pallidiflorum. Them narrow leaves are everything. Have you considered stratum for that blue boi (can’t remember the name oops)who refuses to do anything? I swear, it’s root crack!
I got both elaphoglossums from tropicals too! I also know nothing of the genus and was so scared I just potted them up together with whatever black dry roots they had in a chunky tff mix. The plants looked so good despite the roots being burnt looking I guess gaslit myself into thinking maybe that’s what the roots are supposed to look like in that genus 😂 Still alive but no action in the roots that I’ve seen
It’s dangerous to be watching this video when ecuagenera is going to be here this weekend… palis are that anthurium I want 17 of so if they have narrow ones I MIGHT HAVE TO SNATCH ONE UP. Love this video girlie ❤

Do you ever join in on tropicals live sales? Prices are insanely good, and you get to see the plants before you buy.
