Thanks very much Francis, I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the support and encouraging comments it means a lot to me, the comments are the back bone to my channel let's me know if I'm doing this right or not, take care chum.
I’ve just started hiking and your videos have been inspirational. I find them so useful as you show the type of terrain to expect on the paths too. I need that as I am a late starter and have osteoarthritis in both hips. Didn’t watch your Doan video… wish I had as I might not be suffering from an OA flare up, but I pushed myself to a similar spot on the mountain and then turned back to the left side. Never got to the summit. At least I know my limits now and Hen should be a bit easier for me in the future as long as I take it slow. The birds following you are ravens … very elusive birds in the mountains as they shun human contact. We’re going to photograph them this week in the Cooley’s - should be easier on the joints LOL. Hopefully me and Tony F. will meet you on a track some day!
Hi ya Natalie thanks chum, glad you enjoyed it, I love that wee mountain it means a lot to me, weird that, but it's a reminder of where I started and where I'm at now 👍
No thank you Tony for watching, it's you guys that are the inspiration to make me do it and bonus is I get to bring yous along with me and share the experience 👍
Glad the fall guy from last week is ok and recovering in hospital...puts my broken toe into perspective! 😄 having said that, I climbed Slieve Gullion on Thursday...first climb since I broke the toe. Steep climb but worth it for the views and was rewarded with a fantastic sunset when I got back to the carpark
Yea David, bumping into people that knew him was mad but yes he's hopefully on the mend. Love Slieve Gullion the views are outstanding last time I climbed it, it was - 2 but at the top was hitting - 5 sooo cold but I'd a blast, great to hear you are back on your feet again mate take care chum and thanks for watching 👍
Well done, David, great to get to the summit and get the views and drone shots. Was very interested in your own personal journey and experiences, you've made a great turnaround. Glad to see you are building the channel, regular uploads will be key as you move forward. Regards, Ashley
Thanks buddy yes the drone helps a lot, I thought I'd share a bit of a back story, glad you enjoyed it. Got another 18 this week hopefully I'm getting better at this and people are getting something out of it.
@@hikingtohealth Definitely, a bit of reality is good, and it draws people in. If you keep uploading videos regularly you'll build the channel very quickly. That's what's really hard, keeping it all fresh and relatable, big time investment but if you have the time then go all in!! Ashley.
Yea Ashley having both tiktok and RUclips is quite the work but it's working out putting in the work I'm up to 418 now on here and tiktok I'm sitting around 9400 followers ya need 10000 for the creators fund so not to far to go now.
Hello David. Just been enjoying your video. More power to you! Keep pressing on. I wanted to say too, I showed up at 6 one morning there with my dog. Wish someone would have the sense to put that big red sign at the roadside! Anyway, keep getting out and enjoying the hiking. It takes discipline but worth it.
Thank you so much for watching and the comment, I see you have a channel to so I've subscribed to it and I'll get to watch some of your vidoes later, I've a good vlog hopefully up later this week on the Mournes, a lot of work on it to do. Take care.

Hi Rosie, thank you for the lovely comments, I'm so happy that you and Tony enjoy my vlogs, I try and make them as interesting and informative as possible. Sometimes not reaching the summit isn't a big thing, I think it's all about the excitement and experience. The Cooley Mountains are amazing but don't underestimate slieve Foye it's steep and rocky. I've a vlog on that one too if you want to see what it's like. Unfortunately no drone shots it was to windy that day. But the views over Carlingford are breathtaking. Hope yous have a great time there and stay safe. I see you have a RUclips channel as well so I've subscribed to your RUclips channel. Take care and happy hiking.
@@hikingtohealth many thanks David. I haven’t been doing videos since I moved back home to NI from Perthshire during Covid but I have kept the channel in case we get a drone some day in the future. We haven’t seen the Slieve Foye one yet and I know you have one video on Barnavave and we hopefully will hike up there to see the abandoned village. Looking forward to seeing where you go on your next video!
Great, lovely to watch😊
