This is excellent. The sets are detailed and complex, and the animation is perfectly timed to the sound landscape of the movie. Fun, entertaining and enjoyable. Well done!
Absolutely amazing! Love the devotion and what you did! I hope it gets you enough recognition and launches a career where you can do your original work. Great job again. Cheers!
WOW WOW WOW!!! This is incredibly well done! I have nothing but the utmost appreciation for what you've put together. I'm positive I'm not alone in saying...please MAKE MORE! Count me in as a new subscriber!
@covertoperatives There's always someone who thinks he's a professional film critic just because he watches movies all day, and can't appreciate how much work and effort went into something like this. Probably doesn't even understand the concepts of "work" and "effort."
This is beyond wonderful. The timing is also perfect. Thanks, i will see the indiana jones as soon as possible. Raiders of the lost ark is still my favorit.
@poyanp Thanks I appreciate constructive criticism. I assure you I tried to up the frame rate whenever I could. I took a personal oath to not cut corners on this project. That's why it took me 6 months to make. I lay a lot of the blame on the limitations of the figures. The joints were so tight that a lot of times I found it difficult to move the limbs the minuscule movement required. Also those figures were so tiny! I was lucky to get the animation as smooth as it was!
@psychicwhoosh I actually had a very small little flashlight with a tiny little bulb that I would shine directly on the torch every shot. Because it was attached to my finger, it was never exactly in the same place every time. I might have a picture of that process on my facebook animation page - Jeff Gurwood Animation. I have dozens of making of pictures there.
@nacolucas Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! But I am curious which part you are referring to about the camera steadiness. Is there an example from the movie you could mention so I can see what you are talking about? Maybe it will help me for future movies.
@FrictionControl Oh don't you worry, sir. I shot my fair amount of actual film too! I have two of my 16mm films on youtube that I shot with my Bolex. Check them out! They are called Covert Operatives & Hidden Among us and they are on my movie page.
@TheNewUweBoll haha, I can tell by your screenname that you are probably joking. Otherwise I don't know what you are talking about. You might want to lay off all the crack cocaine. That would explain the shakes.
Yes. I am starting a new movie right now. It should be finished by the fall. It takes me like 6 months to make one of these so I only get the chance every few years.
Ligthing, sets and props are awesome, great camera and flawles animation, instant favorite duce, loooove the sets man they came out amazing i hope you make more videos
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it! Sorry for the late response. I haven't entered it in anything because I don't own the rights to some of the copyrighted material.
@LordSzabonight That was something that happened in Temple of Doom not Raiders of the Lost Ark. A lot of people are making that mistake. Watch the original scene again.
@mrjohnriggins44 I felt that the cave scene was a more complete portion from the opening. It was more self contained than including the entire jungle and everything.
So damn good, the lighting the sets all so dope. You made it with figures that had very minimal articulation too, that took skill. This production is still 🔥🔥🔥
Well... This whole opening scene is perfect to quote the Nostalgia Critic: 'What is it with the Lost Civilizations who want to Kill Everybody whenever they find their shit? They are already Dead! What are they going to use it for?
Amazing work great job! As for the coments on frame rates you could chucking it through Twixtor or Kronos in Premiere or After Effects, but it really does come down to a personal taste. Brilliant work with lighting and camera angles.
wow ! that was excelent, perfect, beautiful, and a lot more! The details from the original scene were excelent! Congratulation for this man! I think that this took you a lot of work, isn´t it?
Jesus man, the sequence of the arrows, Indy trhwoing the Idol to Shapiro, How Have you done that? It's just Brilliant in fact, congratulation, I invy you, do it more man, Greetings from the fans from Brazil, Thanks for the Homenage... Your effort is to make Steven and George very proud, Congratulations.
One the hardest aspects of this, I imagine, is getting the lighting right. What did you use to get the flickering torchlight effect? Were you using a piece of a mirror and just changing the angle of the light every frame? And you had to keep that lighting effect localized to a certain finite radius around the torch. Very very cool.
Jeff! I can't believe how well it turned out! I hope this opens doors for you and you get the break you deserve. Call me when you're ready to remake 'Everyone Dies At The End.' We'll track down George and get the band back together. Call me next time you're in town.
Well done, I can only imagine how long it took you to do all this. Very ice that there are people like you who spend their time on doing something creative rather waste their time on things that just make people fight and argue over it. Well done, nice job and a lot of respect.
great video, I would just have preferred this to have maybe twice the number of frames. I know that's much much more work, but it would had a lot of fluidity to the whole thing. It's sweet enough like this though. Hope to see some more of your work soon.
@covertoperatives Don't worry, nacolucas is crazy. The camera is perfectly steady. It's the nature of stop action that little details will change between frames, perhaps giving the illusion that the camera is wiggly. You did an amazing job.
@TKTrooper324 A blonde was asked how many "N"s are in Indiana Jones? She replied, 70. Scratching head, he asked how'd she come up with that number? The blonde replied, well, Na na nah nahhh, na na naaaa, na na nah nahhh...
Wow, this is amazing!! so well made and close to the true movie screens, it would be awesome if there was a whole movie, but as you have said..that would take AAaaages!..so get a production team on it please ;)
@poyanp - seriously? You found it hard to watch?? I thought it was fantastic. Very creative and entertaining. Too bad you felt the need to take it down - albeit "seemingly" constructive.
So how is a bag of sand approximately the same size supposed to be of equal weight to a gold idol? Gold is a lot heavier than sand...That always bothered me about the original movie.
Great video!!! If you have the "Raiders of the Lost Ark" soundtrack. Wait till the video is at 23 seconds and play the track "The Idol Temple" and it syncs up just right. :)
This is excellent. The sets are detailed and complex, and the animation is perfectly timed to the sound landscape of the movie. Fun, entertaining and enjoyable. Well done!
I’ve seen the movie about a million times so even though there was no sound I said all the lines in my head. Great work pls make more
Love this! Stop animation makes a huge comeback! Thanks for keeping this art form alive and kicking.
Absolutely amazing! Love the devotion and what you did! I hope it gets you enough recognition and launches a career where you can do your original work. Great job again. Cheers!
Waww. Like. 🤠😃
This is phenomenal. AMAZING animation and the attention to detail is impeccable. What a tribute to the greatest adventure of our time. Well done!!!
This movie was simply awesome! How could anyone "dislike" this masterpiece? Keep up the great work!
This is so so good. I must've seen this film 50 or 60 times and you've got it absolutely pitch perfect.
Great video but it needs sound
It's got sound but youtube removed it. Go to vimeo to see it with full sound
@@covertoperatives are you ever going to return?
Fantastic job. Sucks the audio got cut. I would be entertained watching the whole movie in indianamation:)
This is a master piece. Shame there is no audio
Thanks! I appreciate it! You can watch the movie with complete audio on vimeo. Search Indyanimation or Jeff Gurwood. It''s worth it!
just watched! its amazing i want to do some animation like this but with lara croft
I love the way it switches to the actual movie at the end. It blends so well. Nice work!
Fantastic work! My favorite Indy scene.
WOW WOW WOW!!! This is incredibly well done! I have nothing but the utmost appreciation for what you've put together. I'm positive I'm not alone in saying...please MAKE MORE! Count me in as a new subscriber!
congratulations!!

So much hard work has but put into this. 👏👏👏👏
Man, that was severely cool.
I believe RotLA is the best action movie ever and such amazing work makes me love the film even more.
Keep shining bro.
Brilliant!! You captured the true essence and thrill of the original movie, I was captivated the entire time.
Truly amazing. Your hard work has made so many people so incredibly happy. I hope you know that.
Well he left us with great stop motion classics
Great animation, it sucks that the audio was cut out.
Thanks! The full audio version is available to watch on vimeo
Bravo!
Excellent work, sir. Excellent work.
This is beyond wonderful.
The timing is also perfect.
Thanks, i will see the indiana jones as soon as possible.
Raiders of the lost ark is still my favorit.
Needs to be more fluid.. I'm guessing some of that is the figures themselves... but set design and lighting is amazing! Great Job!
Absolutely funtastic!
That was awesome 👍🏻🇦🇺
This video was awesome!
Amazing work!

Yummy! Cinnabon spiders! 8-p
Awesome! Well Done.
Thanks!!
+Jeff Gurwood I would like to see you make the Temple from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Sequence in Stop Motion that would be Awesome to watch!
Yes. I am starting a new movie right now. It should be finished by the fall. It takes me like 6 months to make one of these so I only get the chance every few years.

@mrjohnriggins44 I felt that the cave scene was a more complete portion from the opening. It was more self contained than including the entire jungle and everything.
@covertoperatives True Indiana Jones fans did not make such a mistake. Amazing job. I actually forgot I was watching stop-motion during this video.
@thebeardedtrio I worked about 5-8 hours a day on it 7 days a week. Probably about 45 hours a week. But it was all fun and hardly ever work!
@suicidalcupcake122 I started out with plaster of paris but it was too solid. I ended up using mostly paper mache.
RUclips won't let me add links but just go to Vimeo and search for Indyanimation! or go to my webpage Jeffgurwood
@RedX8X Yeah I wish, but it would take me 5 years working 40 hours a week! If I worked all by myself that is.
So damn good, the lighting the sets all so dope. You made it with figures that had very minimal articulation too, that took skill. This production is still 🔥🔥🔥
Spectacular video, with a very nice animation. The sets are simply AWESOME. Receive a greeting, friend.
I'm curious where the comments come from because the movie is blocked in the USA because of the music.
Well... This whole opening scene is perfect to quote the Nostalgia Critic: 'What is it with the Lost Civilizations who want to Kill Everybody whenever they find their shit? They are already Dead! What are they going to use it for?

27 dislikes is not so bad. Not everyone is going to like it. But 1613 likes is a pretty good number!
wow ! that was excelent, perfect, beautiful, and a lot more! The details from the original scene were excelent! Congratulation for this man! I think that this took you a lot of work, isn´t it?
...too bad you didn't live in my city. i would love to collaborate with you on projects like this.
@suicidalcupcake122 I made the sets from art supplies. I got it all at Michael's craft store.
@Symbiote088 Yes, this took me 24 weeks to make! But I knew that BionicLime was just joking.
@FrictionControl Yes! That is me. Glad you also like Covert Operatives from back in the day!
@McSpazzatron Thanks! It took 6 months to make the whole movie. Three months of shooting.
That was fantastic animation and I loved how you put the film from the movie at the end
@treeflamingo Thanks! The camera should be steady, I used a tripod the whole time! haha
Thanks a lot!! I'm actually making a new movie soon. Not Indy though, unfortunately.
...all you did was copy the movie and replayed it on youtube! you can't fool me! :P
@SmartGuy014 My movies usually take me about 6 months to make. But I'm just one guy.
@covertoperatives you have nothing to thank, is a great job! I´m a great Indiana Jones Fan and this is just perfect... Are you another fan?
No, but I know all those sounds and music by heart so I can imagine it pretty well.
@ALIENPRED1000 I built the set from art supplies. Mostly foam core and paper mache.
@JoeLipariSDA Thanks a lot! I've always wanted my very own internet! Awesome!
Thanks for the compliment on the animation and thanks for calling me a kid!
That was amazing. Very well done. I've got Top Men looking into getting this in the right hands. Top... Men.
Never mind the sound is copy righted but on vimeo there is audio
I cant describe what a joy it was to see this video. Excellent job!
@CineRam Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed all of the little details!
@returnhangar I filmed it mostly in 3's and some 2's. 9 and 12 fps.
Jesus man, the sequence of the arrows, Indy trhwoing the Idol to Shapiro, How Have you done that? @jsncrystal Thanks Jason! Glad you were finally able to see this!
@trentkill So would I! Something to keep in mind for the future.
Awesome work! Anyone who dislikes this obviously doesn't realize how awesome this is. :D
Both animation figures in this are better actors than Hayden Christensen and Keanu Reeves.

que trabajo mas genial debe haberse demorado semanas de concienzudo trabajo y mucha paciencia se merece un OSCAR
@suicidalcupcake122 I had little pins attached to their feet.

@jedivisconti Thanks a lot! Glad to have fans in Brazil!
I thought this going to be a parody, but after realizing it wasn't, very much appreciated it's worth. Nice Job. It was great to watch!
thanks for starting off my friday in a great mood. love this. put a huge smile on my face. thanks for making and sharing this. Brilliant
FANTASTIC work, my friend! If you decide to do anymore or something similar, I would be happy to contribute what I can. Very awesome! :)
