Absolutely wrong approach-look not for skills but for strong background in the area. With strong background it just takes some time to aquire needed skills.
You either too young or not technical/business savvy at all to think this woman DID NOT RUIN IBM. She failed the company. Any business' bread & butter is most important. In one of her interviews, she said IBM is now 10% hardware company - failure & wrong move. She did this bcos she wanted a piece of the cloud technology which would have happened anyway. And guess what, where do you guys think the cloud is being run from - hardware right. So, IBM would have been getting additional checks from hardware sales from the cloud company. Now, she gave that opportunity to another company. I wish her husband and committee of lipstick exchange group member were not the ones who helped her make that decision. Sad, sad, sad ...
One of the worst CEOs ever. Up there with Ken Lay. IBM's stock went down over 30% after she took over. She missed opportunities and lacked vision because she was a business person and only thought in dollars and cents. Hopefully the new CEO Arvind Krishna will turn things around.
