I love Pints with Aquinas. Great information, and I always love when the Early fathers are used. One love to drink a pint with you some day. God bless.
But the only priest I have access to easely is my dad's best friend and he is always by the house and I am afraid he will act differently if I confess or maybe tell my parents (I know they can't but it still scares me)
Think of it as the priest being His garbage man taking away your garbage. I’ve linked below a video by Fr. Mike Schmitz on the subject ruclips.net/video/79508tTte_4/видео.html (he brings it up at 10:10)
Yeah, but 1John 1:9 state that " If we confess our sins (no priest mentioned), God is faithful and righteous to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness and the Blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from All sin. And the New Covenant Testament teaches that we are ALL believers are a Holy Priesthood and a Royal Priesthood unto God (1Peter 2:5-9, Rev 1:6 & Rev 5:10) And the New Testament Offices consist of: Pastors, Bishops. Deacons & Elders and Jesus Christ is our High Priest.
@Emilio Alfaro We confess our sins to each other, not for forgiveness, but for *healing*. (as mentioned above 1 John 1:9). The forgiveness comes from God alone.

@@menta617 Thank you!
Repent, pray to God for forgiveness and confess to another believer for healing.
What about Colossians 3:13?
What about it? That's in the lord's prayer. You should forgive others, especially if they have wronged you.
@@JoeyDecay forgiving is something you do, a work. It’s not just “Faith Alone”.

Just because priest isn't mentioned, doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. That's chapter one. We follow the whole gospel. Not the 1st chapter only
