Update, after 2 1/2 years my Galaxy Note 4 died. Battery replacements did fix the problem for a while, but eventually the phone bit the dust. My symptoms were that the phone would go into a constant reboot loop, and the back of the phone near the camera would get very warm. My Galaxy note 2 also died after 2 1/2 years too. NOT a good experience Samsung. Just wanted to update you guys.
Important! My replacement battery to the one I showed in this video failed again. Same symptoms. The first battery lasted 6 months. This second battery died this past week (almost 9 months). My Note 4 started to REBOOT CONSTANTLY by itself, and it got "very hot" at the camera area. Wiping the cache partition made no difference. The only thing that stopped the rebooting was to plug in my charge cord into the charger. I replaced the battery 7 days ago again, and, NO MORE REBOOTING. If your phone stops rebooting when it's plugged in to your charger, go to your battery life graph. If there are sudden drops to zero, then your battery will likely be the problem. So far, between 6 months, to 9 months for my batteries under heavy use (Galaxy Note 4). Please let us know how you make out people!
My note 4 has the same problem, however after it turns back on this samsung update program will pop up and then give me an error code 407. Saying that it is unable to update.
My note 4 was fine all this while for 2 years, today suddenly when i touched an app it suddenly went off, after that it started rebooting itself continuously. Even when connected to the charger it is doing it. some times it says battery charge level is 75% and next moment after rebooting it says 0%. I hope its just the battery and not the firmware
Mine also has this issue like yours. I wipe the cache partition, and device wipe, and downgraded to Lollipop from Marshmallow. Still the same thing is happening. This is plain outright killing me. Maybe I have a hardware issue that software fixes wont do the trick.
Kumaraswamy Kademane it's a well known hardware issue that plagued the Note 2 and S3...and now the Note 4. The 32gb phone memory (emmc) is faulty and goes corrupt after a year or so. It's a hardware issue, so software won't solve it. Eventually it will keep rebooting and go dead. Take it to a service centre and ask them to replace the EMMC. It costs around $40.
Thanks all for the suggestions. i took it to the service center, the guy just slipped in another battery and told me to check it for 30 minutes or so, to see if it is the issue with the battery. incidentally the phone was fine with that battery. hence, i just bought a new battery and it is fine since about 15 days. Lucky me
my galaxy note edge does that at 30% and I ordered a Samsung replacement battery on amazon I also need to get my cracked screen fixed but I was so scared that my phone was taking a crap on me this video saved me a lot of money thanks
For your situation, I would first make sure all of your apps have been updated (in the Google Play store). Then, I would wipe the cache partition. That procedure is shown in this video ruclips.net/video/VYBVOwBmLsg/видео.html
+Youssef M OMG same here!! My phone would always do this when I opened snapchat, so I wiped my entire phone clean and factory reset! I didn't download anything for the whole day and what do you know I still had the continuous rebooting problem!!! Also the new battery didn't make a difference as well!! So sad!! New phone it is!! cries!!
Nita S np just stop by any local Samsung store and ask for a new battery. If they do not have any in stock, then make sure to buy it off the official Samsung website.
hey bro i have the rebooting problem and i just realized my battery is worst than the one that you show on the video, it has a lot of free spaces, so i think im gonna buy a new one. I hope that my cellphone get fixed, so thanks for the video broo😀 (Sorry for my grammar, this isn't my language xd i don't even know if i wrote it well ) thank you 😀
I put a new battery in mine but it still does it at 75%. It starts to countdown and within a few mins the phone is drained and switches off. So new battery didn't work for me.
+Lavonnah Cordero I would suggest using any high quality battery (DON'T use "no-name" cheap ones off EBay or other places). I replaced mine with an "Anker" battery that I am using in my device right now to reply to you. So far, so good. As of the date of the video, up until now (July 24th) it's worked well. An original Samsung battery would of course be the standard replacement
Also, simple fix. Check your battery level. If it is low, it can't do a full reboot and will cycle. Mine did that when all the transfer to a new phone drained the battery to nothing in no time flat.
Not much. I swapped out the battery for a new one and I have not had any problems. I believe (correct me if I am wrong) that the way these guys detect charge while charging is the resistance in the circuit. The older the battery, the less charge, the higher (innate) resistance. So when you plug in and it says "70" it is actually nearly dead. If it is a resistance gauge while on as well, that explains a lot (I don't know if it is voltage while on). If yours dies at 30... well.... try a new battery!
My Note 4 randomly shuts off, sometimes reboots on its own sometimes not, random reboots, lags a lot too. Called AT&T we did a Master Reboot, still have same problem. Did understand what you were saying about your battery?? I did recently buy a 3rd party battery, the probelms with my phone did not start until a month or so after installing new battery, so not sure if it is the new battery.
+majorghn if I were you, I would "wipe the cache partition" of your phone. For an unrelated error, that same procedure fixed my friends' phone of its issue. I show how I do it in this following video. ruclips.net/video/VYBVOwBmLsg/видео.html
I have a Note Edge (It's basically a Note 4) and my problem is if it goes lower than 50% it turns of, so I try to turn it back on and loads up the boot up screen but then turn back off again, once I plug in a charger it says that it has about 30% - 50% charge.
So it's possible that it's just my battery and not a software problem cause my phone was today at 30 percent and started rebooting over and over once I took battery out and put it back in it showed I have 0% battery but once I plugged it in it said I have 13% battery very frustrating
If you plug your phone into your charger that came with the phone and the rebooting stops, a battery would be my next step. For me on my Galaxy Note 4,that was the problem. (of course the sudden drops to zero in your battery life graph must be there too).
Experiencing this same kind of shit. I've tried these: safe mode, wipe cache, removed SD and sim card, restored to factory default. The only thing that I need to do is buy a new battery but I don't trust the Samsung one no more. Is the Duracell battery for Note 4 a better alternative in both price and toughness?
Random rebooting issue - i suffered a lot last year, I handed in my Gold Note 4 for a refurb, only to realise that a OEM battery was needed. I have a replacement and that started rebooting randomly a few weeks ago. I realised I had been charging my phone overnight. Got a new battery, and all is fine. Reboots occured when using camera or taking pictures, highly frustrating for an instagram user!!!
I'm having exactly the same problem with my phone, the first time my phone started rebooting was about 8 or 9 months after purchase, I took it to a repair shop, they checked and said the hardware is fine, I flashed the cellphone changed the battery and it started working fine, after 5 month it started rebooting again and my battery swelled (turned out to be fake). I bought a new battery and started working fine again but after 8 month, the same problem again, I flashed my cellphone to android 6 but no difference. the battery has warranty and when I went there they put a new battery in my cellphone but it's still rebooting. I like my cellphone but it really made me sick. I think it's a factory hardware problem.
I've had this same issue and this fix didn't seem to work. I am going to swap it with the seller for an s6 and pray the s6 works better. Bummer because I really like the note series..
Im Having this same problem, I wipe cache and I factory reset but the problem only got worse. the only way I can get my phone to act normal is if I put the charger in the phone and leave it there... my phone is always on 100% but as soon as I take the charger out... it waits 10 mins or less and continues to reboot, over and over until I return the charger
Sounds like a battery to me. Did you look at your battery level meter for those sudden drops to zero within the time line like I demonstrated in this video?
Chris Jones interesting. Well, I tried your theory. I powered down my phone twice for 2 minutes. I rebooted and used the phone for a few minutes. There are NO blips down to zero on my battery graph.
+Mysimplefix there's a few reasons I say this. 1. when you reboot, the software goes through a set order to safely restart the phone. When there's a fault with the device and it powers down suddenly, it causes a zero power spike in the graph. It's a little like powering off your pc by yanking the power cord. 2. In my case I tried someone else's battery and the fault remained. 3. I bought a new battery and the fault remained. In your case it could have coincidentally being the battery causing the reboot BUT it isn't the battery fault showing up in the graph :-)
Hello @mysimplefix I have a Note 4 too, im having the same problem lag and rebooting, i bought a new battery but it keeps rebooting, did all updates to the apps, the partition cache, and keeps doing it. I´ve done all suggested steps, factory reset, clear cache....Any suggestion ?
tthanks fro the vid! btw this is ridiculous of samsung im on my 3rd battery just finished ordering my 4th one this will for sure be my last samsung phone. ive had them since the note 2.switched over from HTC because of the same type of issues... which are... for the most part. that the companies make a great product...then run it down til the wheels(and company) fall off...
+Carlos Rodriguez yes, I can agree with you on the batteries. The good part is, at least on these phones, the battery can be swapped out in 5 seconds, unlike the...... Note 7. I had a Note 2 as well, one battery failed. The Note 2 died after 18 months. Got this Note 4 (which I really like.) The original battery lasted about 6 months, and I replaced it with an Anker battery. Good performance like the original, BUT, It died the same way as in this video after 8 or 9 months. The good news is it has an 18 month warranty! They sent me a new one quickly no charge. I will only ever buy a phone that has a removeable battery from here on in (if possible). The sealed in battery isn't such a good idea. And for you Apple fans, remember, even the IPhone 4 had a recall for swelling batteries a few years back. Hopefully the Note 8 will have a removeable battery. It's the only way I'll ever buy one.
yep. just buy a new battery. That's why removable battery is good also Ihave been told that usually a battery last about 9 month plus it's so useful just switch battery when runs out.
I will try this. I noticed that it kept turning on and off but I did not pay attention to the battery stats. Also freezing , but starting doing this after the up dates...
i hv the same problem with my note 4 but it only rebooting continuously when i dont use it and i got the sudden drops to zero! but even when my phone is shutdown he open by his self did that happen to u ? +mysimplefix
+Hakim Lailai my phone stopped rebooting when I plugged in the phone charger. What happens with your phone when you plug in your original phone charger?
Well when I don't use it even if I plugged in charge he keep rebooting the only thing can stop the rebooting was using the phone if I don't use it he will stay like 20 tell 30 minutes then rebooting and I notice some that the phone get hot on the top all over the camera space is that happen to u
Hakim Lailai make sure ALL of your apps are updated using the Google Play Store on your device. Once that is done then I would then "wipe the cache partition". Here is how on the Samsung Note 4. youtu.be
Please check and CLEAN your battery connections first. Do it with contact cleaner and a gentle rub. Also check the battery is a snug fit. Place a piece of paper or thin card at the Base of your battery if it is not a snug fit. This will tighten the fit. These 2 things fixed my boot loop.
+Esco Escobar be sure to do all your updates in the Google Play Store. And then finally clear the cache partition of your device. This will not cause you to lose any important information at all whatsoever so don't worry. Here is the link which shows you how to do that on a Note 4. ruclips.net/video/VYBVOwBmLsg/видео.html
Mine stopped rebooting as soon as it was plugged in. But if you have those sudden drops is charge state on your battery graph, I would still try a battery.
+Mysimplefix I have those sudden charge drops. IV lost my original charger and IV been using another one my phone shows plug in the original charger. maybe its the charger the messed up my battrey
+Sayyar Bangash the best news is that most good quality replaceable batteries are cheap too. Please make sure to use the proper charger and cord in your device to receive a proper charge current and voltage.
Nothing helps. The note 4 is stuck in a boot loop but works like a charm when it's plugged into the wall charger or a battery bankCan it be the 7805 TI chip that controls the power switch over circuit.Replacing e battery sim and memory card did not help not did a hard reset
+Kirti Desai have you tried clearing the cache partition? This will not cause any loss of data. The method is shown here. ruclips.net/video/VYBVOwBmLsg/видео.html
I had the same issue. Changed my battery but the issue persisted.. I uninstalled and disabled RUclips app on my phone and that fixed it. .. 3days now, not a single reboot
+akpevwe egbowawa WOW! So what would happen if you reinstalled the RUclips app with the latest one? I'm wondering if maybe the RUclips app "cache" was possibly corrupt? Please let us know if you do try it, and if it works... Thanks for posting by the way.
It could be something with RUclips cache.. it's the 4th day now and I've not had a reboot. . And btw I've switched to my old battery which is over 2years old.. I don't think the battery is the issue
This is true about using an OEM battery. I had bought a battery from ebay for my Note 3 AT&T. I thought it was a good battery until I tried to take pictures with flash on. It would instantly turn the phone off and the only way to turn it back on is to pull the battery out. I then plugged it into the charger and tried the same method and it did not turn of my phone. Messaged the seller that his battery was defective and he sent me another one. The new battery did the same thing right away. I gave up with the seller and bought an anker battery from Amazon for twenty bucks. Best investment ever, phone works awesome again and does not shut off. I will probably purchase an Anker battery for my Note 4 Tmobile that I just got a couple of weeks ago. Make sure the battery is high quality or from Samsung.
+Alan Villasenor My original battery as shown in the video was a Samsung. It lasted 6 months. I replaced it with an Anker battery as well. The Anker battery I purchased was a 2 battery plus charger combo set. Now unfortunately one Anker battery of the set failed the SAME WAY as well, although it lasted 9 months. The good part of this, is the Anker battery has an 18 month no hassle warranty. I contacted Anker, and they are sending me a replacement at no charge. They are only requesting the serial number of the battery. I'm not suggesting anyone should use them, but I am saying so far, my experience with them has been good.
hi i have same issue i think. my note 4 is automatically off then the screen is look like blingking or is like grounded, i dont know how to explain. what is the problem phone or battery.. thanks
Changing the battery works, sure. But the real problem is that this seems to be a battery monitor problem. On other phone models there is a way to reset the battery (these batteries have an onboard chip that controls these things). As far as I can tell there is no reset procedure for this phone. Which makes me think that this is a designed flaw to help sell more batteries, or worse, more phones. Hopefully with Samsung's recent exploding battery problems they'll get this garbage fixed for the next Note model.
yes. the phone does stop rebooting. when i unplug my charger the rebooting keeps going on and on. cause my battery was totally 100% fully charged. is it i have to changed my battery into new battery?
+qistina kattyrin in my experience on my Galaxy Note 4, I had the exact same problem as you, and the booting stopped when I plugged it in. Also, after all the rebooting, I checked the battery life graph and it showed sudden drops to zero each time the phone rebooted. A new battery was the fix. In fact the phone I'm replying to you on is that very same phone! The battery was the problem.
This is what I ordered. You may need to order from a different location, as this is from Amazon in Canada. www.amazon.ca/Anker-Batteries-T-Mobile-18-Month-Warranty/dp/B00Q4NQQA0
I had the same problem but it was not the battery, it was the new apps I had put on the phone. I put my phone in Safe mode and tested out the default functions, before going to the new apps and deleting them. Save yourself some time..... delete any new apps and see if that does it. They may seem innocent or like nice apps, but that's probably the problem. It was mines.
Good point. I realize this dealt with a battery issue, but since I found the thread looking for a solution, thought it could help someone else lost like me. Lol. I agree the Note 4 is more fixable with battery issues since you can replace and swap them out. Thanx
I'm going to try a new battery too. But I don't think this will help. Samsung told me to start phone in Safe mode and wait a few hours. If no rebooting, then it's one of my apps. (I get them all from Play store) Even though this just recently started, I went back and removed any apps I added in the last month.( only 2 ) This did not help.I'm not going to remove all my apps because of this just started. I'll switch phones 1st!
+Barb D be sure to check for updates in the Google Play Store for any of your apps that may need updating. I'm sure you did this already, but I just needed to mention it.
yes, I do all the time. Opps, 3rd time it's rebooted in the last 15 minutes :-/ Noticed now the phone is hot! so that now means it could be an internal malfunctioning of hardware problem cuz Nothing else has worked.
+Barb D I do need to ask you, when you look at the battery life graph like I showed in the video, do you see sudden drops that go to zero and then pop back up again? This is a sure indicator of the defective battery.
My note 4 finally died after 2 1/2 years again with the same symptoms. (constant reboot, plus the camera area getting hot) .... I'm done with Samsung for now unfortunately for them. My Note 2 died after 2 1/2 years also.
An app on your device "may" be causing reboots. Always be sure to check your Google Play store on your phone (Using wifi if possible) and make sure ALL your apps are updated. It's under "my apps" within the Google Play store.
+Mysimplefix it's not that all my apps are always updated and my cache clear I have had this problem with every smartphone I have had ..thanks for the reply
i had this problem also. i got a new battery but the problem did not go away. i took it into my local shop as luckily it was within its 12 months warranty (just) 12 days since i took it in and i still have not received any word back.
i had a job repairing iphone before so even though its harder to switch out the battery compared to a samsung i still could do it easily. but i shouldnt have to as i think ive only seen this problem with samsungs
Sam Foster it's a well known hardware issue that plagued the Note 2 and S3...and now the Note 4. The 32gb phone memory (emmc) is faulty and goes corrupt after a year or so. It's a hardware issue, so software won't solve it. Eventually it will keep rebooting and go dead. Take it to a service centre and ask them to replace the EMMC. It costs around $40.
Sam Foster Alright thanks for responding, I've been contemplating on buying one but I'll definitely try to get one. If you don't mind me asking, were did you get the battery from?
+Cristian Rios please make sure that all of your apps are updated in the Google Play store on your device. If you have updated all your apps and you are still having problems, I would then "wipe the cache partition" of your device. This action will not cause any loss of data (if done properly). This is not a reset procedure! Check out this video I made for another issue, in which is how the method that I just described. ruclips.net/video/VYBVOwBmLsg/видео.html
+Mysimplefix they are and I have tried several ROMs and it is a lot worse with the stock ROM with the stock ROM it won't even go past the T-Mobile logo unrooted 100% stock I also replaced the power switch and that did not help either
Naw mine still reboots even with the charger plugged in I already purchased a new battery, I will try and see I think I have a bad emmc seems more like a storage issue since even with a new battery and power switch im having issues
+Mern3k yes, the hint is that you will see sudden drops to zero in your battery life graph like I showed in the video. If you have no sudden drops, then the battery is not your issue
Hello, hoping someone can help me. I tried to check the battery diagnostics but I don't know how to read it: imgur.com/a/gkJUB My phone has been continuously rebooting now for days. The ONLY thing that makes it function is to plug it into the charger and then my phone will be normal. If I unplug my phone, it will reboot continuously again immediately. It's just been on 100% for days. If I plug my phone into my computer, it will not work-- it only works if plugged into the charger. I have tried: 1. Opening phone in safe mode - SAME ISSUE! 2. Updating all apps - DID NOT WORK! 3. Clearing caches - did not work! The only thing I have not done is restore to factory setting but I'm thinking that if someone can tell me now that it is the battery, I won't need to. Wouldn't I know to restore it to default if it worked even in safe mode but didn't in "normal"?
If I were you, I would replace the battery in your device. Your symptoms sound very much like what I had (rebooting when unplugged). Please let us know how you made out.
Eternal Genesis there have been several instances lately of defective batteries being shipped out to people from all different suppliers. One way to verify this is to look at your battery life meter within "about" on your device AFTER the phone has done a sudden reboot. If the battery life dropped to 0% and then shot back up to normal, then your battery (even the new one) is likely defective! ALSO!... if the phone immediately stops rebooting with your charge cord plugged in to your phone and charger then again, your battery is likely the cause. If these symptoms do not align with what I just mentioned, and reboots happen another times, then.. First clear the cache partition of your device. I've shown how to do it in this following video on a Galaxy Note 4. ruclips.net/video/VYBVOwBmLsg/видео.html. After that is done, go to the Google play store and be sure to update ALL your apps! Please let us know how you made out.
Mysimplefix I've already tried all of that. clearing cache, Factory reset, 1 new battery and 1 from a friend, a new charger nothing worked. But it does not matter anymore as I got the S7 Edge. If this thing goes wanky after 1 year too Samsung can go fuck itself and I will jump ships.
***** I personally will NOT buy "any" Samsung phone that has a battery sealed into it that is not easily removeable! Between this Note 4, and the Note 2 I used to have, I've gone through too many batteries. I think the phones are fantastic, until we mention the batteries.
samsung galaxy series are craps i have note 2 and note 4 and same problems occur frequent rebooting and worse 100% charge then suddenly shutdowns..i have 2 batteries in my note 2 one is original made in korea and abother another one is said to be assembled china...it was so frustrated that you must buy another battery to solve that problem..business as usual wtf.

Samsung integrated "self destruction " mechanism in its phones, so you buy new phone after max 3 years

The only thing that ?? Please continue..

Mysimplefix which kind of battery would you recommend? An OEM?
Mysimplefix I think the problem is on our phones because some people have the same phone bit never had an issue.
Rusty Shackleford make sure that you do all the available updates on your device on the Google play store.
My note 4 has the same problem, however after it turns back on this samsung update program will pop up and then give me an error code 407. Saying that it is unable to update.
Thanks. Just looked and YES there is a drop to zero in the battery. Will proceed as you advised.

my galaxy note edge does that at 30% and I ordered a Samsung replacement battery on amazon I also need to get my cracked screen fixed but I was so scared that my phone was taking a crap on me this video saved me a lot of money thanks

(Sorry for my grammar, this isn't my language xd i don't even know if i wrote it well )
thank you 😀
The jumping around on the battery graph is actually just glitch in software calibration tracking. The rebooting is a separate issue.
My Note 4 just started doing this after 3 years of perfect service. Where did you purchase your battery ?
I put a new battery in mine but it still does it at 75%.
It starts to countdown and within a few mins the phone is drained and switches off.
So new battery didn't work for me.
im experiencing the same problem . so does it have to be a orginal samsung note 4 battery or just any new replacement battery ?

+majorghn if I were you, I would "wipe the cache partition" of your phone. For an unrelated error, that same procedure fixed my friends' phone of its issue. I show how I do it in this following video. ruclips.net/video/VYBVOwBmLsg/видео.html
I have a Note Edge (It's basically a Note 4) and my problem is if it goes lower than 50% it turns of, so I try to turn it back on and loads up the boot up screen but then turn back off again, once I plug in a charger it says that it has about 30% - 50% charge.
Ricky D mine phone does the same thing any luck on how to fix it
Does your phone stop rebooting when you plug in your charger?
Yes
If the phone stops rebooting when it's plugged in then the next step would be to replace the battery.
Thanks
+Glenn Marata I use the Anker battery. They work well. With an 18-month warranty.
the exact same problem .... thanks for the fix man :)
They no longer make/carry the original battery. Try to spend at least $50 on a descent one if you can.
Thanks man! Helped a ton!
+Mysimplefix you do realize the zero hits in the graph are due to it powering down, not because it's suddenly lost power from the battery?
Chris Jones interesting. Well, I tried your theory. I powered down my phone twice for 2 minutes. I rebooted and used the phone for a few minutes. There are NO blips down to zero on my battery graph.
+Mysimplefix yea I had to buy a new battery then it worked for me but I sold that phone lol
In your case it could have coincidentally being the battery causing the reboot BUT it isn't the battery fault showing up in the graph :-)
thanks for the information with detail explanation :)
You da the real mvp!
Thank you!!! I was going nuts!
Hello @mysimplefix
I have a Note 4 too, im having the same problem lag and rebooting, i bought a new battery but it keeps rebooting, did all updates to the apps, the partition cache, and keeps doing it. I´ve done all suggested steps, factory reset, clear cache....Any suggestion ?
+Tommy Roman doest the phone stop rebooting as soon as you plug in your original charge cord and charger?
Mysimplefix it barely does!!! but it happends when is charging.
It barely reboots when its plug, what it really stop is the lag... when is charging no lag, minor reboot problems
+Tommy Roman do you have a "micro SD" card installed on this phone? Have you tried removing it to see if it makes a difference?
Tommy Roman I really am suspicious of the battery! Do you know anybody else who has a Note 4? Can you try their battery?
Thank you for your tip! It worked for me and saved me couple of hundreds lol
I have the same exact problem with my note 4, and I'm getting my battery in a couple days in the mail
I have a diff battery in my phone and u were right. thanks. just needed to confirm
tthanks fro the vid!
btw this is ridiculous of samsung im on my 3rd battery just finished ordering my 4th one this will for sure be my last samsung phone. ive had them since the note 2.switched over from HTC because of the same type of issues... which are... for the most part. that the companies make a great product...then run it down til the wheels(and company) fall off...
That's why removable battery is good also Ihave been told that usually a battery last about 9 month plus it's so useful just switch battery when runs out.
hey what battery did u bought?
I will try this. I noticed that it kept turning on and off but I did not pay attention to the battery stats. Also freezing , but starting doing this after the up dates...
Thank you! :) I'm gunna try this!
what type launcher do you have?
i have the same phone Galaxy note 4 and mines charges really slow even with a fast charger..i dont know what to do..
+juan munoz ruclips.net/video/cJcCK5ZVSAY/видео.html
i hv the same problem with my note 4 but it only rebooting continuously when i dont use it and i got the sudden drops to zero!
but even when my phone is shutdown he open by his self did that happen to u ?
Here is how on the Samsung Note 4. youtu.be
thanks sir i will try it now
after fixing the apk
my phone is not working any more 😔😭
what to do please help
Please check and CLEAN your battery connections first. Do it with contact cleaner and a gentle rub. Also check the battery is a snug fit. Place a piece of paper or thin card at the Base of your battery if it is not a snug fit. This will tighten the fit. These 2 things fixed my boot loop.
I replaced the battery twice and my phone is still rebooting?
+Esco Escobar be sure to do all your updates in the Google Play Store. And then finally clear the cache partition of your device. This will not cause you to lose any important information at all whatsoever so don't worry. Here is the link which shows you how to do that on a Note 4. ruclips.net/video/VYBVOwBmLsg/видео.html
thanks man..you really helped me...
Thank you for this
I have the same problem.
but mine happens even when it's charging but has the same blicks.
should I get the battery.
+Sayyar Bangash if you're receiving error messages regarding your charger, then YES, that is likely an issue.
So I have to change the battery then it's fixed.
Thanks ur video has been helpfull.
I didn't bother reinstalling it... I've been using RUclips from my Chrome browser..
+akpevwe egbowawa there will probably be an update to the app coming if many people have an issue in a day or 2.
+Mysimplefix True true. I guess every Note 4 is different for every user cause I haven't experienced any issues so far....crossing fingers hah
Mysimplefix did you buy directly from Anker? Or is this warranty valid worldwide?
I purchased my battery on Amazon in Canada which is amazon.ca. Anker stood by their warranty no problem and sent me a battery quickly.
But my note 4 it working and I can have a new battery or not
bought new battery. fixed for about 2 months. same problem. don't want a new phone. also no sim card. saw your video. I'll try s new sim card.
I think it can be done to other type of smartphone also: but with torx screwdriver.
The Note 5 back is glued down. There is a video out there showing the disassembly of it with battery removal, but it looks pretty tricky to do.
same problem .samsung also know this problem .they ask replace bettery after 500 recharges
where can I get a original Note 4 battery to buy?
online from the Samsung website or any phone shop around you
Thank you
haha thank you very much for this video I wanna buy a new battery because I really have this problem on my Mokkee rom
hi i have same issue i think. my note 4 is automatically off then the screen is look like blingking or is like grounded, i dont know how to explain. what is the problem phone or battery..
Hopefully with Samsung's recent exploding battery problems they'll get this garbage fixed for the next Note model.
my galaxy s5 keeps contstant lly rebooting. is it i have to change the battery?
+qistina kattyrin if you plug in your charger that came with your phone, does the phone stop rebooting?
yes. the phone does stop rebooting. when i unplug my charger the rebooting keeps going on and on. cause my battery was totally 100% fully charged. is it i have to changed my battery into new battery?
+qistina kattyrin in my experience on my Galaxy Note 4, I had the exact same problem as you, and the booting stopped when I plugged it in. Also, after all the rebooting, I checked the battery life graph and it showed sudden drops to zero each time the phone rebooted. A new battery was the fix. In fact the phone I'm replying to you on is that very same phone! The battery was the problem.
so my samsung galaxy s5 the only battery is the problem? so i have to buy a new battery life is it?
qistina kattyrin based on the experience I had, and what you have described, yes I would replace the battery.
can you give a limk to the battery you bought i need one same problem here
This is what I ordered. You may need to order from a different location, as this is from Amazon in Canada. www.amazon.ca/Anker-Batteries-T-Mobile-18-Month-Warranty/dp/B00Q4NQQA0
Be sure to verify your model number by looking under your battery!
+M. Sims would agree that apps can cause major problems. BUT, the sudden drop to zero in the battery life graph is the giveaway in this video.
This is a sure indicator of the defective battery.
no, but I have seen those 'breaks' in the graph though.
+Barb D then a battley should fix your problem. Please post your results after! Thanks.
thanks for your uplodes helps alooooooote wish you always upload new vidos
I'm working in more this weekend... Thank you!
Where can I get a oem battery? Note4
I have 3 battery change but my note 4 has bean restarted and I click 5 6 picture note 4 was restarting and hot
My note 4 finally died after 2 1/2 years again with the same symptoms. (constant reboot, plus the camera area getting hot) .... I'm done with Samsung for now unfortunately for them. My Note 2 died after 2 1/2 years also.
had my note 4 for 4 weeks and keeps on freezing and turning itself off
An app on your device "may" be causing reboots. Always be sure to check your Google Play store on your phone (Using wifi if possible) and make sure ALL your apps are updated. It's under "my apps" within the Google Play store.
+Mysimplefix it's not that all my apps are always updated and my cache clear I have had this problem with every smartphone I have had ..thanks for the reply
what if it freezes then reboots?
Try pulling out the sd card. it worked for me!!
i had this problem also. i got a new battery but the problem did not go away. i took it into my local shop as luckily it was within its 12 months warranty (just) 12 days since i took it in and i still have not received any word back.
Please let us know what they find.
its the second samsung ive had this problem with now. i feel like i might switch to an iphone. but yea ill let you know
At least the battery is cheap and replaceable (for now), but not on an IPhone (unless there's a recall).
i had a job repairing iphone before so even though its harder to switch out the battery compared to a samsung i still could do it easily. but i shouldnt have to as i think ive only seen this problem with samsungs
Sounds good then.
thanks that was really helpful
Mine is doing it at 28.. Or right under 30% I'm going to order a new battery now ... 🤢
mine does this at 100%!!!
+Sam Foster Did it work?
dri9q then why is it a new battery corrects the rebooting problem?
Sam Foster Alright thanks for responding, I've been contemplating on buying one but I'll definitely try to get one. If you don't mind me asking, were did you get the battery from?
Andrew Carrillo me too I'm trying to fix
bought a new battery still reboots just not as often anymore and it lasts a lot longer
Cristian Rios on mine when I had the defective battery, my rebooting stopped as soon as I plugged the phone in to my charger.
Naw mine still reboots even with the charger plugged in I already purchased a new battery, I will try and see I think I have a bad emmc seems more like a storage issue since even with a new battery and power switch im having issues
I just wiped everything including system and reinstalled stock rom and same issues
About to go to store to test batteries and if at the store I experience no issues, I'll buy the battery.
+Mern3k yes, the hint is that you will see sudden drops to zero in your battery life graph like I showed in the video. If you have no sudden drops, then the battery is not your issue
where to buy a original battery?
Well, what kind of phone do you have?
+Mysimplefix the note 4
+Donovan Abeyta here's a link for an original Samsung battery. www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EB-BN910BBUSTA

+Mysimplefix thanks
Hello, hoping someone can help me. I tried to check the battery diagnostics but I don't know how to read it: imgur.com/a/gkJUB
My phone has been continuously rebooting now for days. The ONLY thing that makes it function is to plug it into the charger and then my phone will be normal. If I unplug my phone, it will reboot continuously again immediately. It's just been on 100% for days. If I plug my phone into my computer, it will not work-- it only works if plugged into the charger.
I have tried:
Mysimplefix
The new battery did the trick! I would not have been able to fix it if I didn't stumble across this video. Thank you so much
Jenna Allen I'm glad it helped you! Thanks for posting.
You guys need to buy a new battery and then do not charge your phone while playing. Play only when it's full %.
having the same issue. Figured it would be something like this so I ordered a new batery. should arive today so will see.
Eternal Genesis it worked?
Zuraini Zainuddin Did not work for me. And they refuse to repair it :/
Eternal Genesis there have been several instances lately of defective batteries being shipped out to people from all different suppliers.
Samsung integrated "self destruction " mechanism in its phones, so you buy new phone after max 3 years
thanks for the tips
thanks
samsung galaxy series are craps i have note 2 and note 4 and same problems occur frequent rebooting and worse 100% charge then suddenly shutdowns..i have 2 batteries in my note 2 one is original made in korea and abother another one is said to be assembled china...it was so frustrated that you must buy another battery to solve that problem..business as usual wtf.
regie de pedro it's a well known hardware issue that plagued the Note 2 and S3...and now the Note 4. The 32gb phone memory (emmc) is faulty and goes corrupt after a year or so. It's a hardware issue, so software won't solve it. Eventually it will keep rebooting and go dead. Take it to a service centre and ask them to replace the EMMC. It costs around $40.
thanks a lot i have the same problem
THANK YOU!!!!!!!
how about the samsung galaxy note 2
Take a look at your battery life graph. If you see sudden drops to zero, then I would suspect a battery problem. So, YES!
+Mysimplefix did you a video that my that would stop my samsung
keep poping up the app has stopped that i keep reset my sansung that is still. Thank
and i going to buy new a battery
+Andy Gao l like window lol
okay thank you
hahahaha exactly
2024❤❤
Samsung owes me like 3 batteries then ... what a shit product.....
Hinbasa
nice one please check it out at Fedra official it all about fun and comedies laugh away your sorrow and forget tomorrow😂😂😂😂😂
thanks
