So much passion in this piece. It really moves me greatly. Shame Scriabin isn't more known.
ARTalive01 he's not as overlooked as many people seem to think... He definitely gets more love than Alkan and Bartok.
Also his easiest piece is level 7 lol that’s why (he has some ‘easier’ pieces)

@@duckymomo7935 his pieces reached a virtuosic and musicali level sencond only to few. The thing that enchants me ia that even though his music isn't really "transcendental" about technique, it certainly is transcendental on a purely musical level. Just look at the 8th or 10th Sonatas (both Henle level 9, which is the maximum)... They're not difficult because of large jumps or fast scales (like early Liszt pieces), but because the emotional, dynamic and intellectual control required to play those pieces is insane. Thank god he was a madman =)

@@Alix777. No, Rachmaninov has been greatly inspired by Scriabin, they studied in the same class and were good friends.

Almost done this. Though those few 3 against 4 poly rhythm measures at the end are killing me. Pass the gosh darn butter.
Those polyrhythms tho. Love this piece, so concentrated.

@@r0mmm Of course it is. This piece is highly similar to the agitato section of Op 48 no. 1. It's the exact same type of technique. Scriabin shamelessly imitated Chopin in his early period, even writing mazurka's, Polonaises and nocturnes. It's not a bad thing, he innovated quite a bit in spite of his Chopin obsession. Not sure why I've been seeing Scriabin fans who want to pretend he wasn't Chopin obsessed in his early period, he absolutely was.
Why does this piece feel awkward to listen to rhythm wise while watching the sheet? It doesnt look that syncopated in the sheet music

@@themindgarage8938 Yes, they are out, but I think it's by less than a semiquaver. The right hand is slightly delayed (or the left hand slightly in advance), and it is a very common habit amongst pianists, and every performer who does this totally spoils their playing as far as I can see, even if I like most other aspects of their playing.
The problem is especially bad with this piece. With a normal piece of straightforward rhythm, it just sounds slightly sickly (I presume it is intended to sound expressive); but this piece is constructed with an in-built lack of synchronization, carefully designed by the composer, in the form of the bass notes for chords actually coming at the end of the previous beat - and for this sloppy lack of synchronization on a smaller scale to be imposed on it by the performer actually blurs the rhythmic structure the composer has built into the piece.
It's really better when performers just do what the score says, and not try to be "expressive" by using excessive rubato, especially differing between the hands - worse than excessive rubato done simultaneously in both. And the keyword there is "excessive", because I am not advocating, nor do I like, a mechanical style of performance, like a metronome. But I think a very small amount of rubato (in both hands together!) goes a very long way.
nezkeys79 large spans in the left hand required many of the chords to be rolled, and there was quite a bit of rubato to allow time for the left hand leaps. I thought overall it was a brilliant performance though.
Look at the first page. The left hand rhythm is very syncopated. It's just not written out in the subsequent bars.
@@MJE112358132134 chopin said the left hand should be like a conductor keeping a strictish rhythm, whereas the right hand is like a singer, coming in and out with rubato. so i agree sort of with your comment that many performers use too much rubato which sounds sloppy and loses the rhythm and progression of the piece, however playing the right hand and left hand separately (i.e r.h coming in slightly after/before etc.) can promote independence of lines

One little Suggestion .... You have a Rhythmic Error in the left hand at the opening of the piece ...Your 2nd Octave ( B FLAT ) in the first full measure is coming in too early ...you need to correct this with your Teacher Especially since it is the Very Opening of the Piece.

I completely agree. Sofronitsky is No. 1 for Scriabin interpretations, there are a few exceptions however.

K. Debois agreed to. do check out Michel block's recording of the 2nd sonata, it blew me away and it is probably the finest interpretations of that 2nd so atavistic I have ever heard.
there is an old Heinrich neuhaus recording of the OP 28 fantasie with some. awesome aspects to it. volodos does an incredible .modern take o. the same op 28 as well :)

dpodsful I thought the performance was excellent here. Right amount of passion and intensity. A tad too much rubato maybe.
