Such an adorable video Karli. So cute seeing your wee one curl up with daddy and watching her wading in the sea. Family memories Priceless 🥰🥰🥰. I overcook most things or burn stuff 🤣🤭🤫, so I laughed when you overcooked the vegetables and rice. Those are the fun times 🤗🤗
It is so nice to be able to have a little break from the winters up north. I’m glad your showing us how to eat on your trip. It is a little tricky but it is possible. Just takes planning.
That is such a great idea to take a small InstaPot with you. Usually I bring my small 1-2 quart WonderBag with me, but it does take 6 hrs. Maybe I’ll bring both.
For instant pot oat groats I do 4 cups water for each cup of oats, cook 15 minutes then let it sit in IP another 30-45 minutes at least, this is for a porridge type oat. For rice type I follow Tammis method from Nutmeg Notebook, I rarely do it so I have to look it up for ratios and cook time. I’m trying to get better about writing all of these things down in a little kitchen notebook.
@@NaturallyKarli I've had an IP for like 5 or 6 years at least and STILL don't understand the presets - LOL I don't use them. I think porridge is probably rolled or maybe steel cut - I had to research on how to cook oat groats quite a bit because most people don't use that kind of oats and a lot seem to cook them with a rice like texture instead of porridge texture. The way I mention is what I finally found to work.
7:33 damn! You look so good that early in the morning, without make up, just after jogging! Your skin is flawless! I even find you more beautiful like this than with make up on! And just to clarify im a straight woman.. 😉 love this vlog! 💚
I love your videos! I live in Florida and I have a 3 year old so I would love to see more videos and recipes for toddler and family friendly wfpb meals. Weight loss isn't a concern for me but healthy eating is. I'm glad you guys enjoyed your vacation!
Karli when I travel with family i take one measure of quick oats for first morning and do overnight oats. Then cook load of beans, rice, steamed potatoes and steel cut oats too. It’s doable but like you said you have to be organized. We live close to Clearwater beach and yes it was cold when you guys were here. Enjoy 😊 and yes Publix is xpensive 😩
I loved this video and I am definitely looking forward to part 2. Traveling with this type of diet doesn’t have to be a challenge if you plan ahead. Eating at restaurants is the most difficult thing for me because of the oil. But your ideas are excellent and motivating to me.
I get that there is no other option to maintain a healthy diet on vacation or in general America. But it's just so dissapointing to see the huuuuge amounts of plastic bags and containers. It makes me SO sad to see that you simply cannot find these fruit and veggies that you like in paperbags or cottonnets where you live. It's alot better here in Germany but still not perfect... Don't get me wrong i love your content nontheless😘
Yes, this is an ongoing problem. It hurts my heart as well. We are so desensitized to all the plastic in our daily environment. It’s truly unfortunate. At home I use silicone as much as possible, but plastic always seems to creep back in 😒

Oh wow, that view 😍😍😀
The best!
The tip about cooking the oats using the leftover water from cooking the beans is great also.
Oh great!
Great video! Your vacation looks lovely!

I'll have to Google that! Sounds helpful

Thanks Malita! I'll have to try that next time as my fam was not impressed with the porridge setting lol

Yeah, that sounds very similar to how I used to make it, except you add more water. Looking forward to trying this, as we eat a TON of groats!

You are so welcome, Garb: )

Wow! I think I'm blushing lol ☺️ Thank you for the genuine compliment. You're so sweet.
Bringing your own cutlery is a good thing to remember when travelling, also a couple of sharp knives and a pair of scissors
Would that go over at the airport? 🤔
Yes in checked bags, its ok.
I always wondered about this! Thanks for sharing

So you never it out by the time you in vacation?
Sorry I don’t understand the question… could you please rephrase?
Dumb question. How are you able to bring all that food on the plane?
What are you asking about specifically? Because I just pack it and carry it on in: )
@@NaturallyKarli I didn't think you could bring all that food past the gates and on a plane. I know you can't bring liquids though.
Yep, no liquids. Just whole foods in baggies and Tupperware containers.

You husband is vegan 🌱 ?
Ha! Not even close lol
I understand u wanna stick to ur lifestyle but ur on vacation don’t u wanna go to restaurants and indulge a little ??
I consider my food indulgent! I actually prefer it to restaurant food 😃
Wait a second!!! You’re from the Milwaukee area?! Omg!! Live in Madison! So cool!!
Yes! Born and raised lol
