We are two crazies from South Africa, Frik & Petro. We knew absolutely nothing about sailing, but the ocean has always been calling. So, we got rid of all our stuff, bought a Leopard 45 Catamaran, and set sail. Follow us as this story unfolds! This is a sea-life adventure captained by a couple of nomads who have built their lives on doing what inspires them in the moment. Join us and see how we break free of the traditional lifestyle, creating videos of our journey, adventures, life on board, and lessons learned along the way. It will be super rewarding if we can be an inspiration or contribute in any way to anybody wanting to fulfil their dreams.
SISU (Finnish concept) is a grim, gritty, white-knuckle form of courage in situations where success is against the odds. Taking action against the odds and displaying courage and resoluteness in the face of adversity, in other words, deciding on a course of action and then sticking to that decision even despite repeated failures.

Love the new sails - QUESTION -- Not sure if you know the answer, but how would your 45 compare with a 45 Outremer in light winds? There are some times that you turn on your engine under light wind conditions. Do you think it would be pretty much the same thing on the Outremer or would that sail in such light winds?
The Outremer is a performance cat that weighs 1/3 of a cruising cat. Cruising cats can start to think of Sailing at 9kts TWS and then do 50-70% of TWS. Performance cats start thinking of Sailing at 5kts TWS and do 100-200% of TWS.
20:53 good M.O.B. Practice..
Thanks Trev !
I hope you are still happy with your leopard 45 after all the building defects some owners are having??
We are still extremely happy with our choice. We had the same issues as the other boats, but they were all covered under warranty, and R&C sorted them out without any problems. We will make the same choice again.
I'm surprised that you don't get sea sick while editing videos under way. Not sure if my stomach would survive the ordeal. Cheers from Winnipeg.
🤣🤣, that's when I get most my editing done Peter. I normally sit in the aft cockpit and have a lovely view of the ocean while I'm busy. Great office
15:45 new tippex needs a cover? I like the one SV blown away made with ship rope sew in around the sides of the cover.. would take swords to cut it, not anything normally found on a dock..
Tippex's new cover is done, we must just source some proper Hypalon glue to stick the velcro down.
@@SailingSisu does Tippex actually mean anything if translated?
I cannot believe you haven't heard the "Tippex" story yet 😂🤣. Tippex (what we use in South Africa) is what you would most likely know as White Out or Correction fluid. So if you made a mistake, you just wipe it out. We often have nights like that, when we get back to Sisu, and the first thing in the morning, after not remembering how the night ended, we run out to see if the dinghy (Tippex) is still with us, and lo and behold, she is perfectly hoisted and secured on Sisu.
👍🏼 always showing useful information‼️ 👏👏👏 Others, focus on cooking 🍗🥪🥘🍲🍛🍜🍝🍤 ⬅️ which is a everyday substance need, not so much a commodity.
So nice of you to say that, thank you!!!! 👌😉
Good work retrieving the cockpit cushion in those conditions. It would not be easy to keep it in sight. Great MOB practice though. Cheers!
It got a little sporty for sure 🥴, but worth the while, those cushions are expensive. Thanks for the comment guys
You two do such a good job sharing your adventure and time together using your channel. You should have a half million followers! Thank you for sharing.
Wow, thank you! If only😜🥴
Cheers and greetings from South Africa
Cheers David 🍻
Gish, we are really liking your Leopard. Loved the bulkhead tour you did some time ago. So solid. -- QUESTION --- After the last few years has your Leopard remained solid or has there been any delamination of the bulkheads or any new weird squeeks after crashing through the Atlantic all these miles? Seems very well put together compared to Lagoon.
No new weird squeeks 😅 The bulkheads are still holding up 😊 we can't speak on behalf of Lagoon owners, but we are very happy with our Leopard 45.
@@SailingSisu .......perfect!
Lift the dinghy motor when towing.
We normally never tow the dinghy, but that day we had no option as it was way too dangerous for Frik to get back in the dinghy and still hoist it up with the davit, the sea was way too big. Let alone lifting the motor. But great advice, as I'm sure a lot of people reading this, will appreciate. Thank you, will definitely keep that in mind for the next time.
Cheers guys! 😊
