We just got our first big caravan, we opted for the caravan for a few reasons highlighted in this video; having the flexibility/accessibility of using the car without packing/tidying up your home each time you wanted to move eg. forgotten something at the shop. The huge cost difference, the initial cost to get a decent low milage van, plus any maintenance of the actual engine, parts etc compared to the caravans is higher. Space - i think there's more usable space in a 7.5m caravan vs a 7.5m motorhome, and especially for travelling with multiple pets, being able to leave them safely in the caravan on site while you run out for human only trips/dinner etc. A big fixed bed you can sit up in for movie nights & so the dogs can jump up.
We opted for Hobby kmfe with a fixed bed + fixed bunk bed (for the dogs crates) so there wasn't faff setting up our bed each morning/night, bunk is good vertical storage too. The option for a seasonal pitch with a caravan, although i maybe just haven't seen a motorhome on one?
The towing aspect, BF would be fine getting a lorry licence but i wouldn't, so towing is the lesser challenge to split driving shifts between 2 people being a more nervous driver. A lot of these could be remedied with a small tow car which many motorhomes have, but again that's a much steeper cost again.
    Great video 👏😃

Hi ;-) What a wonderful comment or rather a message! We are really happy you found our video and that you reached out. We totally agree with you! Well said. It all depends on people's needs really. For the reasons you mentioned, we chose to live in a caravan rather than in a motorhome. We are in one place for most of the year and even travelling for 2-3 months in a moho every winter does not justify cost of getting and maintaining one... Plus! That's probably the reason there are no motorhomes on seasonal pitches: not many people can afford to keep so many thousands of pounds designed and built to be on the go... parked on a seasonal pitch! It is a different scenario when a motorhome is kept on the driveway... so that the neighbours can be a bit envious :D:D:D:D Hope to hear more about your caravan adventures in your beautiful Hobby! Great choice. All the best Lynsey, Kat.

Beautiful motorhome, obviously suits their lifestyle and they enjoy their motorhome with the kids. Caravan for me though
