Hey just so you all know the guy digging at the time was 19 years old. He is now 40 and owns an excavation company that is a very well known and does great for starting out like that. You don't have to work for them if you think they suck. If you new the company trust me you would wish you could!
imma pipelayer now, and if you are laying sewer at .2 percent and boss orders u to cut back on rock, and only bed the bottom , no spring line or shading just bed it, is it ur fault when theres bellys, also no compacting...just me chinkin my ass off
Yeah ? on the shoe size its not that big of pipe but maybe they don't have anything else to use . And maybe they don't have a machine with a quick attach . Ditch could be sloped a little more towards the from for the shoe/box on right side . If you are going to send the pipe down by hand send it threw the crotch of the spreader pipe so the pipelayer can get the the end and slide it down his shoulder instead of dropping it on the ground. The main problem is NO LADDER in the ditch or on the box!!
I worked on a very similar job only 30+ feet deep. Got busted by the safety ppl for not having the dirt pile far enough away from the cage and a large gap between the cage and the bank. This looks like a very unsafe site!!
1 No bedding under the pipe? 2 No chunking the bedding in? 3 Whats with the wierd bucket? 4 wheres the gravel box 5 tell the guy on the backhoe to hand the pipe in and 6 lower the pipe into the end of the trench box so it is easier on the pipe layer.
Te box is in backwards, the operator needs to take full buckets, instead of half buckets (you can make a cut alot faster that way!), no top man, no tail man? There is a hook on the back of that bucket for a reason too! It makes it alot easier than throwing the pipe in the hole. Not to mention taking a chance of breaking it. The sand bedding is fine, since it is dry ground, but you had sure be chocking it under the pipe, and stepping it in GOOD! 20 mins for a cut when it was 90% dug?yall SUCK
god i didnt even read the comments haha holy shit gotta a lotta chat goin on about safety in here....wish i worked in the back in the day with the men for sure
wrong machine bucket and trench box, health n safety out the window , no banksman ,look at the stae of the sides ,only looks like a 225mm pipe those guys want sacking
