    I was 17 in 1978. I can state, without reservation, that Johnny Carson was the best Tonight Show host of all time. His demeanor, magnetism, comedic style and personality outshines any late show host today by leaps and bounds. I've tried watching Fallon, Kimmel, Colbert, Corden, etc...just no comparison to the late, great Carson.

      Me too. Class of '78? I remember Johnny in the 60s too. This also makes me miss George Carlin, I wonder what he would have to say about all the weird things going on nowadays? We need his balancing honesty again.

    • @ORagnar
      @ORagnar 3 месяца назад +4

      I would say that the person considered to be the best of late is Conan, though he no longer does his show. Another great one was Craig Ferguson because his show was not cookie cutter. He went to the tune of his own drummer and was clever and funny. Fallon, Kimmel, Colbert and Corden are not really very good. Fallon does have musical talent.

    Burt was from my area here in Palm Beach County and was well loved by many. Except my father in law who said Burt would get all the girls when he was young and came back to Riviera Beach. Around the time of this piece, Burt called the local sheriff's office where my Dad worked reporting dopers air dropping drugs on his ranch. My dad was an undercover agent and he and his partner struck up a friendship with Burt and provided security on several of his projects in the area. Burt liked cops since his Dad was a hard nosed southern cop himself. I was expecting Burt to be laid to rest in Florida, but when I was in LA last summer I paid my respects at his grave site and thanked him for a lifetime of great entertainment. RIP Burt Reynolds and the Mr Carson. Both the best at what they did.

He asked me if I wanted a drink both times. His wife wanted $20,000 a month for flowers!!! This was back in the early 80's I think. His home was to die for.
