Seems like a nice genuine lad and it’s cool to see such a young guy comfortable in his own skin. Competitive but not arrogant. His generation are naturally more social/PR savvy because that’s the world they’ve grown up in.. a world of uber-exposure and self promotion… so at least trying to use that for wider issues is a good thing. I’m sceptical of corporations and sports trying to “brand” themselves as eco-conscious though just because they know it’s current and popular

Hamilton merely brought those issues at the right time due to social media, but those issues were being discussed in the F1 sphere back in the 2000s. Majority of regulations since then are directly linked to reducing environmental impacts. Not everyone gas the need to films their philanthropic endeavors mate. You can contribute without preaching to the choir.
I appreciate people who share it out loud too, it is good to shed light on things. But its crooked hearing about climate impact coming from an athlete that needs to fly to places in private jets.. Its the nuances. F1 caters to the very people that are destroying the GBR , and the policies that try and protect it. Hetes hoping the new generation of drivers push forward more social and political responsibility , wether they do it in front OR behind the scenes.

Yes, that's true. But to be completely honest, if they're going to be flying around the world to race cars regardless, I'm glad they're giving a little back to the environment in some way at least. Some action is better than no action.
I still see the irony of it though, we've got a long way to go before the global effort moves in the right direction, and F1 as a whole certainly isn't helping.
