This is legit one of the best looking designed cars Toyota has ever made. My interest in hybrids went from zero to take muh money. Great job design team 🙌
Best Prius design. I’m not a huge fan tbh. I think the Corolla hatch looks better. Actually I think most of the Toyota lineup looks better. However, I will say the interior looks interesting.
@@wizardg8067 I'm a former Tesla Model 3 owner and that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the side profile. I think Toyota is learning from their rivals and finally putting that knowledge to good use.
The new Prius takes the best parts of the 2nd and 3rd gens. I think the interior looks like an evolution of the Lexus CT's dash design. If I have to nitpick, I think it would have been better if the volume knob had been placed in the center of the panel between the infotainment screen and aircon vents for better reach. Overall great job, Toyota!
I'm still upset they took the tune scroll knobs and quick access buttons away and have no aux in for digital audio players, I hope they support ldac aptxhd and variable high res wireless audio if not wired and USB hires are dio.
@@metzmatu8409 it's not the same tactile feel as a proper rotary knob, I think many people with steering wheel rocker switch controls reach for the actual knob more.

They know that they have to compete against the coming onslaught of smaller, somewhat affordable electric cars with longer range and faster charging that are going to hit the market over the next couple of years. The anemic acceleration of the prior models wasn't going to cut it. The Chevy Bolt models, for example, both have 0-60 times of less than 7 seconds. So will the upcoming Equinox EV--not to mention several models that are already available in Europe and other markets from other manufacturers.
@@earthzero7 thing is, they could easily get the Pious into the 5s. 0-60 if they’d just use a slightly larger electric motor and more of the battery pack energy.
@@letsgobrandon5800 definitely! Like have it pull more from the battery in power mode, get the specs up there for those who want it. But let it have the 10sec acceleration in normal/eco driving
Kirk, thank you for the walk thru to go over the details with Prius. I think the new Prius is a home run for Toyota. Clean modern styling, decent power/handling and great mpg range not to mention the long term reliability. The best part is the price is a fraction of most EVs which is still affordable. I pre-ordered the car back in September not knowing all the spec and details. Now I can't wait to see the Prius arrive. 😊
I too sold my 2020 for profit. Accord Touring 2.0T tho and now I'm really gonna miss it since they dropped that engine. Smh. I think it's time to get a hybrid tho.
Now this is the interior setup I've been waiting for on the Prius. For me, the one thing I have never liked about the Prius has always been the dash/gauge setup. I've never had a problem with the exterior design, just that dash. This is a huge upgrade and something I would absolutely go for.
If this is going for less than 30k like current gen, it’s gonna be a HIT. Looking at it with the new design and tech, this could easily go for 40k+ if Toyota gave it a different name and changed it to a Lexus badge.
Toyota banged a home run with the new Prius. No longer FUGLY! I would have bought the 2023 Prime, but took delivery on my Model Y. Not unhappy with that decision.

Hoping the base trim will come with simple heating & ventilation knobs, a smaller, less intrusive dashboard screen, and also a spare wheel. Way too much emphasis on 'tech' in this one, for me. An interior from a Corolla would have sufficed, and saved Toyota a bunch of money, too.
Will any of the Prius come with a spare tire? We know the wheels are 17" for the LE and 19" for XLE and Limited, but how wide are the tires and the aspect ratio? Thank You
