The new Prius takes the best parts of the 2nd and 3rd gens. I think the interior looks like an evolution of the Lexus CT's dash design. If I have to nitpick, I think it would have been better if the volume knob had been placed in the center of the panel between the infotainment screen and aircon vents for better reach. They know that they have to compete against the coming onslaught of smaller, somewhat affordable electric cars with longer range and faster charging that are going to hit the market over the next couple of years. The anemic acceleration of the prior models wasn't going to cut it. The Chevy Bolt models, for example, both have 0-60 times of less than 7 seconds. So will the upcoming Equinox EV--not to mention several models that are already available in Europe and other markets from other manufacturers.

Clean modern styling, decent power/handling and great mpg range not to mention the long term reliability. The best part is the price is a fraction of most EVs which is still affordable. Thank you for covering some of my concerns, such as headroom and soft surfaces in the cabin. The instrument panel has no hood, so I think it's going to be plagued by glare and invisible at times. I'm still thinking I would not be happy with the low ride height and low seat height. I would probably keep the back seats folded down all the time and focus on using the whole back area for storage.

yeah, lower is not good. I have an 08, and I raised the seat height of the driver seat. I am 6' 1" The roof is definitely lower on this '23.

Do you feel a shorter person, me at 5’ tall, would have a difficult time seeing over the screen on the dash, in front of the steering wheel??
    Thanks.
Thanks for all of the info provided!!
    I currently own a 2009 Prius.

Youll be fine. Prius has to accommodate the japanese market, so all sizes.

I gladly welcome this newest Prius. I love my wife's 2013 Black Cherry Persona, but this one supplants hers as the best looking Prius out there. Well done Toyota!

    Looks good.
    Not the 65 mpg.
But quite fast and much better looks and refined with tons of tech.
I do miss the tune scroll knobs and 8 fixed quick touch physical buttons on the infotainment and no aux or digital audio in for my hires digital audio player.
I am guessing it handles and drives better as well . Wonder if the gas tank is larger for more range.?

65 could be for the Japanese market with 1.8L with way less power

Kirk, great work! Two questions: 1) When will we get definitely pricing on the various trim levels? 2) Do you know when you will be able to do a substantial test drive?
