Beautiful picture. We see two human beings with different ideas talking honestly. Now, after watching the movie, I admire the both Popes respecting their differences.
This is a very beautiful film that will linger in my mind and heart. No doubt I will watch it many times, each time coming away with yet another dance step of humanity. Thank you Fernando Meirelles and all who made this music.
When I heard that they were putting these two great Welsh actors in the same film I knew it would be superb. For a small country of barely 3 million people Wales sure has produced some great actors.

I find it uncomfortable that all of it came first out of Anthony McCarten’s mind, but most of what’s said about this movie is about Pryce and Hopkins −wonderful though they might be− and the others.
I disagree with the essential voices of this film. It does neither Benedict nor Francis justice in their portrayals. To fix an observation, Joseph Ratzinger even by his detractors is considered one of the great intellectuals in Modern Church history. Pope Francis as Cardinal Bergoglio as a jesuit and his involvement in the Dirty War and his promise of reform yet unfufilled. I am a Catholic and I pray that the Church will be purged of the evils which have permeate d it at times. I read once and it is a truism of Church history that it co-exists with the Spiritual and the Temporal.
I'm very proud not just of the whole crew and cast but of the Brazilian director, Fernando! The man is masterful. Makes my country proud
