I would put rubber in the holding area floor. This because the cows can stand comfier. They stand a couple of hours a day in the holding area, so it's better for their hoofs to stand on a soft surface. Also, rubber is less slippery in my opinion. Thanks for the video, Jan, greetings from Holland.

From one dairy farmer to another use PLT (poultry litter treatment) to remove film on floor. Just wet floor and spread plt either by hand or with a push fertilizer spreader. Safe and fast!

Jan; I give you an A+ on your videos, however you get an F on your personal protective equipment! ALWAYS have at least acid resistant gloves and eye protection when working with any type of acid. And when you took the grinder to the auger shaft, protect your eyes, ears, and hands! I know it sounds nagging but you will be glad you did when you get your dads age! Keep the videos coming! Thx

Thinking outside of the box. That grain bin with the Makita on it would make a great clubhouse for kids if you or your sisters are ever planning. A hunting blind. In my more ambitious days I would have turned it into a 2 floor apartment or office. Just take the bottom cone off. Replace with some straight steel for floor joists and some plywood carefully cut to fit the circle floor.. And the rest is up to the imagination.
