I would put rubber in the holding area floor. This because the cows can stand comfier. They stand a couple of hours a day in the holding area, so it's better for their hoofs to stand on a soft surface. Also, rubber is less slippery in my opinion. Thanks for the video, Jan, greetings from Holland.
From one dairy farmer to another use PLT (poultry litter treatment) to remove film on floor. Just wet floor and spread plt either by hand or with a push fertilizer spreader. Safe and fast!
So glad to see a family work together on the farm. You all keep everything looking good inside and out. Hope you all get some rain and thamks for the videos
Good one gotta keep the herd happy well done the field or the wooded area your dad is using the disc on is looking great again well done great video thank you for sharing

A neighbor of ours that sold milk had one of those piston things that would push it into a pile not to far from the barn.Long story short they didn't clean the floor enough and one cow slipped and broke it's pelvis.
We did like the video, Jan and we like you and your whole family. Most interesting all your different projects to keep this farm going. Great video work as well.
Did you not use hot water for pressure washing ?? Hot water at 4000 PSI should easily do the job. That does also the job for the walls and in the parlour.
Should of put in a troth so their food wouldn't go everywhere when they eat it., all you would have to do was clean it out with a high pressure hose once in a while.
Hi Jan. This week (16-18/6-23) Is it Grand Prix Canada. Is there something you could imagine being a spectator at? (if you had time for it) And we all know that Max will most likely be the winner, but who. think you will be 2 and 3? maybe Lance Stroll?😆
Jan; I give you an A+ on your videos, however you get an F on your personal protective equipment! ALWAYS have at least acid resistant gloves and eye protection when working with any type of acid. And when you took the grinder to the auger shaft, protect your eyes, ears, and hands! I know it sounds nagging but you will be glad you did when you get your dads age! Keep the videos coming! Thx
You are mos def my favorite youtube day in the life video maker and I look forward to watching your new videos almost every week and still watch many of the old ones. I hope you make good money for all your editing effort and the work that goes into making the videos.. Good records for the future and best wishes.
Thinking outside of the box. That grain bin with the Makita on it would make a great clubhouse for kids if you or your sisters are ever planning. A hunting blind. In my more ambitious days I would have turned it into a 2 floor apartment or office. Just take the bottom cone off. Replace with some straight steel for floor joists and some plywood carefully cut to fit the circle floor.. And the rest is up to the imagination.
Jan, I ❤Loved this video. Making it one of my Top 5. The new content was as Always amazing, interesting and educational. Really enjoyed this smorgasbord of happenings around the farm in this one. Great job! Have a blessed day 😁.
You have to wonder as that cow was backing in and crapping over the wall she wasn’t thinking to herself, this will teach you for walking by and not stopping for some head scratches!
Great video Jan. Just wondering if the hoof bath chemical would kill the slippy floor bacteria, be easier in the concrete and benefit the cows all at the same time. The other thought I had is swimming pool chemicals may do the job and be easier on concrete. Just a couple thoughts.
They know roughly based on when she had her previous calf. But all dates are recorded on their herd computer, and it also keeps track of the movement of the cows (from the electronics in the collar they wear), and they show an increase in movement when they come into heat.
Jan said that you don't want to breathe that powder in your lungs except the guy doing the grooving didn't have a masks on, figure that out? Pulmonologist love farmers and welders and now cement groovers.
Hey Jun I really enjoy your videos.. just curious, do you ever have stock just die for no apparent reason cows or calves and if so, how do you dispose of them?
Eric is right. We don't want to damage those pretty boi eyes. I know you're dipping but I never see you spit. Your cows are lucky that you are the caretaker. Good video. Pax.
I was kind of scared when you were using the grinder with no safety glasses. Please take steps to work safely, we want you around for a long time. Great video and thanks.
Jan I always watch your show, and love to see you and the whole family doing such a great job !! But, Jan, you MUST wear goggles when cutting metal, I can speak from the time I got a piece of metal in my eye and to get it out is NOT FUNNY !!! Greetings from Australia
I've really enjoyed your videos but I believe your shirt statement supports thoughts I don't like! To each his own, it has been enjoyable! Best to you!

How to pick cows that go to the plant....find the ones pooping over the wall. Not about age, weight or anything it is Jan's Revenge.

Nice job those floors sure look good
the slip and grip groves . some day you will find the agritrac scrasbbler floors . they are in saskatchewan.
Put that eye protection on! The few seconds it takes is well worth it against a lifetime of eye damage.
I was holding my breathe and cringing the whole time he was using that angle grinder thinggie.
Exactly what I was going to comment

WOW... nice job on the floor. Thank you Jan. Im sure the cows will be happy now
You could bolt some 2x12's onto the posts above that low wall... save some shoveling
I feel like most of the time Juno is broken . That Star War's robot definitely seen better times.

LOLOL🤣 I absolutely thought of this tune the instant I saw Jan's video Title! Made My Day Mr. Crazycook! Salute
Ha. I never heard that before ! Good idea though. Makes perfect sense....
Food grade powdered citric acid and water: super safe. You can almost make lemonade from it, it’s so safe. Wicked good cleaner.
Another great vlog Jan. Prayers being sent for our neighbors to the north for rain for the crops and help putting out the fires.
Jan, I strongly urge you to wear safety glasses when you use grinding equipment.
Always!!! Danger for metal or even dirty poopy dirt in the. Also we can hear you fine but in a few years you ma lose your hearing.
Also the guy working there is doing a full face mask!
Nahhhhh hes a farmer. hes fine. done worse shit than that ill tell u right now
Jan, you could put a board of wood on top of concrete wall and faster with u bolts to prevent cows from crapping into walk alley!!
Breed for smaller cows, will solve the problem!
Thank you for sharing your story with us
Awesome video
See? That grooved guy has ear chums!!!
A neighbor of ours that sold milk had one of those piston things that would push it into a pile not to far from the barn.Long story short they didn't clean the floor enough and one cow slipped and broke it's pelvis.
Jan just get some wide board and clamp it on the post with zip tie drill the board that's all man.
Problem solved untill you can put blocks.
Use dawn dish soap it breaks up the grease and it’s biodegradable safe for the cows
Good stuff
Watching the Philippines
I suggest yall put crushed rock by the mill so the rain can't cause any more issues
Groovy video!
That guy has a groovy job.
Put a couple boards up to prevent the poop over the wall
NICE WORK
Add a 2 board wall on the inside of them poles to keep them from crapping over it
Nice video. Thanks for sharing it with us
I think a piece of plexiglass on top of the wall would take care of the dirty walkway for you.
And I am planning to work there
We did like the video, Jan and we like you and your whole family. Most interesting all your different projects to keep this farm going. Great video work as well.
Thanks for an excellent video Jan!
❤
2:25 about this issue maybe just find some scrap sheets of steel and put them in the rows of the wheels to spread the load
Any chance you could ship that bin to the uk for free ?? 🤪🤣🤣🤣

Muriatic acid works great
Never ends work on the farm
GOOD MORNING
😊
What type of acid did you use to clean the concrete?
Which village view
Nice video!
That is a lot safer for the cattle then have a leg, broke and have to get rid of them.

Mirium is a grouchy chick. She needs to lighten up and put a smile on her pretty face. 😊
Would sprinkling a very light layer of sand on the area and having the cows walk on the gritty sand for a while wear down the buildup? Just a thought.

Could you use vinegar as an acid? If so, you could probably produce it and keep circulating it into your wash routine.
Cement and water after cutting is called, slurry
Omg Jan! You were using the grinder without safety glasses. Wow good thing nothing ended up in your eyes.
This is my desire job

Maybe dumping a couple gallons of bleach in your recycled water tank would help get the film off
Please don’t use a pressurized acid sprayer w/o safety glasses - not to mention a grinder! Blessings!

How do you determine which cows to AI??

6-14-23 State of Illinois. Hey Jan What does the farm has for a water supply ???
They have well water. One of their wells can be seen in what is currently the 4th latest video: Dad Sprays In-Crop Peas
Safety glasses dude!!!!! Well done . Informative 👍👍👍. Thank you for sharing. Be safe🇨🇦
Why do you not feed them 100 more?
The cows wouldn't be able to eat it all. Wasted feed.
@Flat4Buggy 2 wow, really, I never would have thought the cows would not eat it, I would have thought more food equals more milk production.
Il case e potente
We never liked concrete Ina horse barn. Just asphalt pavement. I always found it to be less slippery over time
