Not sure how you manage, Jan, producing these great videos and working hard from dawn to dusk and beyond. You are a fine farmer. This new cheese project is exciting. THanks for documenting it and I am sure it will be a success. You Dutch people know how to do things right. Good on you.
Jan I really appreciate you taking time to show us the new updates on the farm. Marian I know will be a successful cheese maker and with the support of your family and also the support of your utube family we all know you will be successful
Fantastic production with the roof application . Good to see your mom & dad alon with your hardworking sisters. Jan stay humble but handsome as always. Tom in Minneapolis
So awesome that you find the time to still make so many videos at a busy time of the year for your farm! Would love to see a summary video of your 2024 harvest when you have a chance.
Nice drone work, Jan! The crane operator was probably thinking, “Keep that thing away from me!” 😂 I’m happy for Mirjam and her new business! I look forward to the day when she has a plant that covers 5 acres of land.
That crane operator flew that roof up there! Fantastic camerawork, and drone shots. If this farming thing doesn’t work out for you, there’s always the film business.😉❤
After your last video where you were musing over a name for the cheese business I did a bit of a deep dive on Gouda labeling. Lots of it is aged 1 to 3 years and as much as 17 years. In order to have a cheese cave capable of storing that much product I can understand the height. Lots of them are named simply after the farm ie Kielstra Holsteins. A nice picture of your dairy barn with a windmill a few Maple Leaves and a couple of Saskatchewan Wheat Sheafs included somewhere should tell the story.
Thumper being unalived is hardly a positive note. That said, it's nice to see you out in all that nature too. I wonder what kind of raptors you have there. Traplines and Inlines would know, he's in Saskatchewan too. Why does the cheese factory have to be so tall?Never mind you just explained it. Good video. Pax.
Very cool Jan. Excited about Miriam's venture. What kind of cheese will she be making? Great plan with the building if the cheese program doesn't work out.
your 2294 tractor was made in Racine, WI during the mid-1980s - at the old Case South Works factory can you share details on the underground milk pipe? material, size, how to prevent contamination/spoilage, freeze protection?
Jan, quite true that Nature is nature and we shouldn’t anthropomorphisize it. Quite a shock to those who haven’t experienced it in it’s normal, raw form.
What are you going to use to move the milk from the milking parlor into the cheese house? I think it's fantastic that you are value adding right at home.
Curious how you plan to sell what will be quality cheese in Canada. On my visits to Canada (about a dozen so far) I have never seen good cheese sold in supermarkets unlike in Europe. I get my Gouda from a little shop in Amsterdam or Rotterdam.
Many years ago in the UK, there was a belief that a rabbits foot on a small chain was lucky ( these were usually false ones) the standard joke was that it wasn't lucky for the rabbit🤣 don't know where the belief came from
I hope she does well, my own experience and to spread the risks and increase incomes she should avoid making just one product (cheese). You have the main ingredient in abundance, milk, you can easily make ice creams , buttermilk, kefir or even butter.... when a buyer turns up or orders he gets a bit of everything and that keeps your cash flow going.... It is a shame that you cant make the most of your international subscribers du to the nature of the products (has to be refrigerated) and some restriction regarding import of dairy products to Europe.....but good luck and all the best.
I got a question. With the cheese factory will it only be cows milk?? I know Jan your sister does raise goats, could your sister get into goat milk cheese?? Impressive about the cheese factory.
I'd like to check out your cheese when you get up and running. Regarding the height of the building, IF the cheese business doesn't work out, beer vats need the high ceilings too.
They previously trenched a milk line from the parlour to the cheese house. Most likely a separate business is in the process of being created to handle the cheese production side of things. The farm may have covered the construction cost of building the shell of the new cheese house & then either lease or rent the building to the cheese business.

Its been fun watching the farm grow! Its an amazing farm!! I look forward to each new one.

exciting day on the farm.
Thanks for the daily videos.👍
Nice drone work, Jan! The crane operator was probably thinking, “Keep that thing away from me!” 😂
I’m happy for Mirjam and her new business! I look forward to the day when she has a plant that covers 5 acres of land.
All the best! Brilliant video 💪🏻 🏴
Gouda luck in the new cheese business, Mirjam and family. 😋😊
Awww! Look at that little play on words 😂😂
Nicely played!
nice drone shot!
Holiday Lights are nice. Good to see daily progress and cheese development.
Fantastic video.

Great video Jan! So much information - Wow!

Always building for the future. Love the process. It must be so satisfying.
Great video brother from the imperial county ca 🚜🚜🇺🇲
Thanks for sharing! Yes, a clean piece of equipment seems to not only look better but seems to perform better, at least from the mental perspective.
Thank you for the excellent video!
Your sisters channel beat you to the big lift footage,,, hahah 🤟🏻🇨🇦👍🏻
That is such a safe way of assembling the roof! I wish more construction companies would or could do it this way.
Can't wait to order cheese, hope you can ship to the US!
Very cool Jan. Excited about Miriam's venture. What kind of cheese will she be making? Great plan with the building if the cheese program doesn't work out.
Impressive building!!
I love hearing the train in the background when you are doing your filming and you should soon try and catch a new CPKC diesel. locomotive
great job!
The Cheese Haus !
Good video.
Home Grown Gouda. Would be a good name for the cheese factory. Your photography is just spot on your doing such a great job.
I enjoy a modern farm growing and building. Question; where do you get enough water for all your needs and what would your peak power bill would be?
❤❤❤❤❤😊 So exciting to see cheese building coming along It will work 😊
your 2294 tractor was made in Racine, WI during the mid-1980s - at the old Case South Works factory

You have more respect for clean equipment then they last longer

7:20 I think we all know the attitude towards osha from that man on the side of the building 😂
Big day! Will you guys ship cheese in 🇨🇦. Been watching for ever and need to support Canadian farmers. 😎 in BC have family Saskatchewan. ❤
I have faith that the cheese factory will succeed!☮️🧚♀️💜
Another name suggestion
Prairie Farm Cheeses
“Crafted with Heart, Aged by Nature.”
I bet the cheese venture will prosper 👍
Nature, red in tooth and claw.
What are you going to use to move the milk from the milking parlor into the cheese house? I think it's fantastic that you are value adding right at home.
A milk line was previously trenched from the parlour area into the new cheese house.
You are lucky. You have chores but in away you can choose what to do within the day and when to do it.
More exciting than milking the cows.
Canada is net neutral we have more trees than required and we keep planting more which is a good thing
Is your sister going to be able to ship to the US?
Bravo Familie 👏🏽 Succes met alles in de toekomst🐄🐐🐑🧀🧀🙏🏽🌷🇨🇦🇳🇱🇦🇼🏖
You were asking for suggestions for a name for your new venture
ASQUITH PRAIRIE CHEESES
“With The Dutch Touch”
Extra bonus if your sister gets a lift to store the cheese you can borrow it to change light bulbs.
Spewing oil...??? Isn't that called the "rust prevention program"....???
Hey Jan, how many hours are on the tractors and loaders? Or how much hours do they run in a year?
maybe a little stress in the cab of that crane better him than me
I'm curious. Why didn't you add the concrete floor in before putting in the walls and roof?
Wouldn't it have been easier access for the Cement trucks?
That's a free rabbits foot.

I will definitely buy cheese from y’all
When would I be able to order the cheese? And will she ship to the states? Another great video Jan!
Are you going to sell directly to user?
Well that was me who asked why everything is made out of wood. Thanks bud. 😂
I remember having to do the math for the snow load on roofs.
Is your sister going to Holland to see how they do cheese making ????
Will you also be cutting the cheese, from time to time in the cheese factory?
Its ok for the roof to fly, but if the house starts flying, you might be in Oz haha
When the cheesemaking starts for real, will you be self-sufficient in whey?
what kind of cheese will you be making? Thanks
What varieties of cheese will you make, and how will it be marketed?
I hope she does well, my own experience and to spread the risks and increase incomes she should avoid making just one product (cheese). Are you selling wholesale or retail or both?
Survival of the fittest...
Someone else thinks the roof peak is in the wrong direction. Messes with my OCD 😅
I got a question. With the cheese factory will it only be cows milk?? I know Jan your sister does raise goats, could your sister get into goat milk cheese?? Impressive about the cheese factory.
When do you expect to have your cheese production up and running?
What kind of cheese?
Damn 4 liters a week😂 does that mx285 have a bmw engine
Did you sday ' cut the cheese ' ?
You have to make a heck of a lot of cheese for McDonald's to pay for that building . WOW 😒😒😒😒
First
I'd like to check out your cheese when you get up and running.
Regarding the height of the building, IF the cheese business doesn't work out, beer vats need the high ceilings too.
Is the milk for the cheese being pumped in directly from the dairy? Also, is the cheese factory business going to have a name?
