  • This video reviews the 2 landing net handles I use:
    - Drennan Acolyte Carp 3.6m
    - Garbolino Netsy Ultra Match
I give full details having used both extensively.
I also have a video which reviews the Matrix Extending Side Tray.
The next 2 videos will be the Guru Top Kit case and Mosella EVA Trolley bag. I aim to do one video a fortnight.

Great video Paul. I'm still using a Drennan Series 7 handle at 3.3metres, but sometimes I need a 4 metre handle to cope with high banks on the tidal rivers I fish for Carp. Do you have any ideas for a handle at 4 metres which is as strong as the Series 7 please. I would go into my local tackle shop, but these days I live in Australia, so that's not possible anymore.
I don't want to pay over 100 pounds for a handle, but if I really have to, I will. A 3 section handle would be best as anything like the length of a 2 piece would cost almost the same as the purchase price for postage. I know this is putting you on the spot a bit, but I would value any opinion you may have.

Thanks for the good feedback. I had the Drennan series 7 and know how strong it is. I also had the tricast XRS which is similar strength and does come in a 3.8m model, not quite the 4m you were looking for. All of the £100 plus models are strong but doubt would be as strong as the Drennan. Jamie Hughes uses the 5.5m Matrix Horizon handle, but doesn’t use the thinner tip part so it’s c4m (the second section has a thread on). He has done a video on RUclips in his A to Z series (N) and he also talks about the aquos 4m power handle which is £70, but have i to qualify it by saying I haven’t seen either in the flesh. I’m on the maggotdrowning.com forum (free to join), you could put the question on there although inevitably you get lots of people saying what they have is the best and strongest! Hope this helps.

@@paulstacklereviews1695 Thanks for the quick reply Paul. I particularly wanted something strong and at 4 metres plus because of the high banks over here. Sometimes I have only got my hand at the end of the handle, with no support at the elbow. When you have fish at 10lbs plus, it's really difficult to manouver the net around and then lift it up a vertical bank. It's probably quite comical for some of my viewers, but they seem to like it.
You have very kindly offered me some alternatives to research in your reply above, so thanks for taking the time to respond. It is much appreciated.

Hi Paul , to be honest I have shopped around for handles and to be honest am shocked at the prices for a descent landing net handle . What I have done is I have converted a 9ft pole to a landing net and I have a converted 2 telescopic rods into landing nets and this does the job for me , I am not willing to pay ridiculous prices for some fishing equipment which is a necessity for every angler. I'm sure you surf loads of sites to see what's costing what and you can see that loads of anglers are selling carp fishing reels which they paid stupid money for them are trying to get their money back . Personally any fishing gear that is as dear as a car in my view is just pathetic . .
